1. I tried sooooo many Protein Drink post op and pre op, I threw so much money away. I could just not find the right one, until I tried Premier Protein in chocolate it's by far the best tasting. I fill my Protein shaker with ice then pour the shake in and I'm ready. It really is Delish! Low in sugar and calories and high in protein. You can find the big case at costco or smaller trial ones at Walmart, WinCo, etc and they also have them in vanilla and strawberry.

  2. Hello had my surgery one week ago today. Since I have been home I have not lost any weight. I am feeling a bit discouraged. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I drink plenty of Water, can't finish any food I eat. Help!

Well 7 days post op I was not eating any food at all only water and Protein Drinks, not sure how your diet or nut advise is but every body is different don't compare yourself to anyone else's result. Listen to your body make sure you feel ok and next thing you know your scale will be moving downward, there is not reason why it should not. Patience is key!

  3. There are times that I can have a taco with tortilla and times it is just way too much for my tummy. But just one and it's probably the only carb I cheat on and that is once in a while. If you can tolerate it I'm sure you will be just fine :)

  4.
I am a pre-op. I have been watching all the videos, and very few say they are in a lot of pain, however, it is major surgery.

Can anyone weigh in on the level of pain post op ?

not to discourage I have 3 children but I feel the pain was more annoying maybe cause I never had a c section but it was horrible the nausea the light headed ness, the chest pain it's a lot of things all at once but just like everything else it's just a matter of days 5 days outs I was like nothing ever happened :)

  5. I am a mom of 2 toddlers ... and i have 2 months off from my work starting 12 June ... and I wanna get scheduled for my surgery ASAP ... any suggestions how do I lose weight quickly ???

I started substituting my dinners with Premier Protein shakes, absolutely no sugars, very little carbs if any they were whole wheat, Protein, veggies & fruits first! 2-3 liters of Water a day! I lost 20lbs 1 month

  6. I just had my surgery on May 21st... it's not that I'm hungry and wanna eat everything but I have the thought of just eating something with flavor... Jello n Water is getting really old... Does anyone know what I can do?

I felt the same way I was going insane!!! Not good advice but I had a few taste of foods and made sure I did not swallow them then spit them out :/ I tried that with soda not too long ago it look delish and it was so gross way too sweet that I won't be doing that again! :)

  7. Hello
Today I start my liquid diet. I would like to know how everyone got through this 2 weeks. It seems easy, however I know i know it's not. I do understand the necessity of this phase and know it's just that, but I would like to hear some experiences. Please share and keep the motivation moving forward!

Heard of a lot of people doing this diet, my Dr and Nut have been very strict but they were not that Much! I was on 14 day 800 calorie I learned to eat as I would pre op and was still hungry but not starving to death, they only had me stop eating and drinking completely at 12 midnight before surgery! But good luck your almost there :)

What kind of weight lost did you do? Did you stick to a very strict diet and lots of exercise plus cosmetic surgery? You look amazing!!!! I'm sure you heard it 1million times! I just had my surgery in April and am down from 240 to 216 and it sometimes feel like I am not loosing as much or as fast as I should idk?

  10. I thought I'd share an update on my toilet issues with Constipation. Dulcolax is my new bff!!! I been takin 2 pills a day since Sunday and been having BM ever since! Ive gone like 3 times today alone, I was so backed up Omg. So yea if your having the same issue give Dulcolax a try. It says to take 1-3 pills daily, I been taking 2 and its been good enough for me.

    Happy Hump Day!

Did you mean to say, "happy dump day" :)

Is it giving you any stomach aches? I was on Exxolax for a few weeks and I could not take the pain then Dr switched me to Miralax which is very gentle but very very slow since Sunday that I started it I was nearly able to go today twice but very little and I really have to push (sorry tmi) I am hoping to find something better.

  11.
I regret upsetting Sleevie J by eating french fries last week. Sleevie J no longer likes french fries.

I regret the very expensive size 18 dress I brought in September. I'll never be able to wear it again.

I regret the time I have spent wondering why I'm not losing weight faster. Slow weight loss is better than no weight loss.

I regret second guessing my decision in the days leading up to my surgery. This was the best thing I could have done!

Love this you just reminded me of the reasons behind my sleeve, I had 2nd guess myself so many times!!!

  12. 3 week stall? Try week 2 stall lol. I lost 12lbs the first week then 0 the second week, omg I'm going crazy over here..

Same her I was 260 on my orientation day 240 on my Surgery date 20lbs down in the first week post op total lost 40lbs, but I have also hit a stall since week 3 I am trying to not worry I don't eat too much, but I am super worried that this is it for me :(

  13. I read in a forum where a Dr. There was no proof that drinking carbonated drinks really did stretch the pouch, of course is not a good thing to drink beer because is high in calories with no nutritional value, but just like anyone else without a sleeve if you drink too much carbonation you will burp it out :)

  14. I have cleared this with my surgeon and NUT. It's a liquid multivitamin and absorbs better in your new stomach as opposed to the yucky chewable ones that are hard to keep down. I can say that I am SO glad I found it! I found it at GNC on sale (buy one get one half off). The guy at the counter let me sample it before I bought it and I was amazed. It's called "Sea Essentials" and the flavor I have is "sea berry". I Actually let my bariatric coordinator try it when I was out of surgery. She couldn't believe how good it tastes either and will now be recommending it to all her other patients.

I think it's like $20 a bottle for 32oz, and so worth it!! Which is why I had to share with all of you:) I have heard too many of you talking about how disgusted you are with your multivitamin. Enjoy guys!!

Idk if anyone here has been as bad as me but I'm 15 days post op, no Vitamins at all yet, I tried crushing them once and threw them up, too scared to swallow the pill. I will try this week to swallow them again since I do feel a bit weak, has anyone have this issue?

  16. Hello I had surgery on 4/15 I started having some broth and it's giving me hearth burn Is anyone else taking any anti-acids?

I am taking prilosec. Ive gotten heartburn really badly a few times so I just take it every day until I start eating something besides Clear Liquids. Hoping when I add actual foods that it will tone down some. But things like crystal light that normally didn't give me heartburn have set my chest on fire lately.

Thanks I took a Prilosec I had and it worked immediately :)

  17. Hello I had surgery on 4/15 I started having some broth and it's giving me hearth burn Is anyone else taking any anti-acids?

My doctor prescribed 40 mg of Protonix (pantoprazole) to take daily for 3 months. Kaiser prescribes this short-term for sleeve patients and forever for bypass patients. It's to help prevent heartburn/gerd.

Thanks I have an appt tomorrow and will ask I also have Kaiser.
