  1. I had my last cigarette November 16th. I'm taking Chantix. I haven't cheated, and I've basically cut my dose down to once a day, in the morning.
  2. My doctor's office said that it is normal to start eating more about 1 week before a fill.
  3. I find that after I get stuck, everything that I eat for the rest of the day gets stuck. I just go onto liquids for the rest of the day.
  4. NewYou - Dr. Ren is my surgeon, they're in the same office.
  5. I'm from Staten Island also! Another suggestion - call every day and see if they have any cancellations for the day.
  6. Dr. Ren at NYU is my surgeon. Granted, it isn't easy to get an appointment, but I've never been told that I have to wait a month before the next available appt!! Who is your doctor?
  7. Christmas Eve was hard for me, every single thing I ate the whole entire day came back up. But Christmas Day, oh boy was I able to eat. Boy did I make up for not eating Christmas Eve!!
  8. I'm bored too and I have to sit here for 3 more hours!:faint:
  9. I went shopping for an outfit last night to wear to a holiday party tonite, for Christmas day and possibly New Years. I went down from a 26/28 or a 3X in pants to an 18/20. I went down from a 30/32 in tops to a 22/24. What I'm upset about....I went from a 44DD to a 44D. My girls are disappearing right before my eyes!! I'm completely traumatized over this. Nevertheless, WOW!! What a good feeling it is to be getting skinny!!
  10. I now have 8.1 ccs in my band and boy do I feel different! I really like this feeling of restriction. My meals are much MUCH smaller.
  11. I was definitely more restricted than I was after my first fill. I was able to eat anything I wanted. When I got my second fill, I was able to eat, but in much smaller amounts. I would get stuck if I didn't chew good enough. I did notice that as time went by, I was able to eat more, and I was getting hungry more often. I had a pig out day (not intentional) on Sunday (2 days before fill). I had 3 raviolis, 2 meatballs, 1 sausage, salad, chunks of provologne cheese and ice cream. I didn't get stuck, I felt no pain, and I quite honestly feel I could have fit more in there. My doc said that can happen sometimes, and she asked me how I felt the next day. I hardly ate the next day, feeling major restriction all day long. I wasn't worried about getting overfilled, I actually like the feeling of good restriction. I feel it keeps me in line. I know I'm not going to starve to death, and as long as I can get food and liquids down, I'm ok with the super tight feeling. Now, when I went I only got a .5 cc fill. I really don't feel all that different. Sure, I'm still not eating as much, but I do get hungry and look for something small. Last night 3 teaspoons of cottage cheese filled me to capacity. I really am beginning to think that I'm at my sweet spot, which is a very nice feeling.

  13. You need to let your insides heal. I had to wait 4 weeks after surgery to get my first fill, and I wound up losing 11 pounds during that time.
  14. I went yesterday for my third fill. In 3 weeks I lost 9 pounds. :whoo: My doctor gave me a .5 cc fill. I now have 8.1 cc in my 14 cc band and I've lost a total of 42 pounds. We think we might have found my sweet spot. I'm not really "trying" to lose weight. Yes, I do make better choices in what I eat. I try to stay away from the sweets and junk food. I also have not started exercising. But this weight is melting off me!! I LOVE MY BAND!!:D
  15. Wow - 46 pounds in 3 months, that is AMAZING!!! I was banded on 10/1/07 and I'm down 34 pounds. It might be more, I go for my 3rd fill this afternoon. Between my first and second fill, I was challenged with 3 ccs in my band, no restriction at all, Thanksgiving, and I quit smoking. Hopefully this time around I see more of a difference on the scale.
  16. I can't answer your question, but I can tell you I go through the same thing as you!
  17. I'm going this afternoon for my 3rd fill. I have a little over 5ccs in my 14 cc band. I definitely felt more restriction after my 2nd fill. Lately I've been HUNGRY! Sunday I ate a ton of food at dinner - 3 raviolis, 2 meatballs, sausage, bracciol (sp?), provolone cheese....and I didn't feel full. Other days I get stuck. Wierd how this band works.
  18. I'm hooked on their iced tea, both the regular and the peach flavored.
  19. Hi, I'm from Staten Island. Dr. Ren did my band surgery. I'm so happy with my results so far. Still getting used to it, but I am definitely seeing differences in both the scale and my clothes! I've already gone down from a loose 3X to a comfortable 1X. I can even fit my butt into a large - but not brave enough to wear them out yet!
  20. Yesterday was my 1 month anniversary of quitting smoking. I am on the Chantix program as well. It's really not bad. Sometimes I get very nauseous. Some nights I have insomnia. Sometimes it affects "going" number 2. Just like the band, Chantix is unpredictable.
  21. I am feeling so gassy today, my stomach HURTS and I am so bloated. I've been banded for 2 months now, so it's not gas from the surgery. Any suggestions on what to do?
  22. White meat chicken bothers me. Sliced turkey cold cuts are ok with me. Steak, if it's REALLY juicy and I have something to dip it in works ok. Pork chops bother me. Fish works AWESOME for me.
  23. I get that when I either over eat or get myself stuck. It goes away after the food goes down or I bring it back up.
  24. I had no restriction after my first fill, but I definitely had restriction after my second. It lasted a little over a week, now I'm hungry again. But I found I cannot eat as much as I was able to after my surgery and after my first fill.
  25. Maybe the protein shakes are too thick for you right now. After my surgery, and even after my fills, I had to dilute my shakes. I used skim milk, but you can use water too.
