Bread?
I've had dark toast and a small amount of steak. I didn't get stuck, but that was also before my first fill. I wouldn't dare touch a roll, bagel or untoasted bread.

Holiday Party - Can I have pasta
IMO, I wouldn't consider pasta to be a mushy. Call your doctor and ask what they think.

What is your current fill in the APL 14cc band?
I have 5 ccs in my 14 cc band. I felt restriction for 1 week after my 2nd fill, now I feel nothing. I go back on 12/21 for my 3rd fill.
-
So THIS is restriction...
I felt the same way right after my second fill. Totally wierd though, my restriction is gone! When I drank, I would have air bubbles coming back up. I had to eat super slow. Now, I'm hungry, can guzzle again. I even ate fried calamari. Strange!! I miss that restriction feeling!

Had first fill.... do feel much different
I had almost no restriction after my first fill. It was my second that did it for me.

Not happy
It's amazing - here I am, back on solid foods after a fill. I am able to eat so much less than I was able to before. Yeah, I get hungry, but it takes so little to fill me up!

How long did you wait to get in for a fill?
I had my first fill 5 weeks after surgery, my second fill 3 weeks later, my 3rd fill is another 3 weeks later. I make my next appointment while I'm in the office.

Bowl Movement Post Op
4 days for me. The doctor said this was normal, because of the severe decrease in food intake.

Update on "too tight?"
Thursday and Friday I did my liquids all day. Saturday and Sunday I had my pureed/mushies. I had eggs for Breakfast both days - if I ate 1 whole egg, that was a lot. Saturday's egg went down fine, Sundays I felt stuck but it went down. I tried broccoli bread on Saturday, threw up 6 times (3 times had food in it, the rest was just thick stuff that looked like spit). Went and got my pineapple juice, almost instantly felt better. I had a about 1/3 of a bowl of Soup later on that night and again felt like I was getting stuck. Drank more pineapple juice, felt better. Sunday I had some creamed spinach in the afternoon and the remainder of my soup from the night before. Felt good. Sunday night I went to the diner and had a few bites of smashed up meatballs (with extra sauce) and sauteed spinach. Got stuck after I ate the spinach. Brought that up, felt better, drank some pineapple juice and felt 100% better. Starting today (Monday), I'm back on solids. I had 2 turkey sausages and oatmeal for breakfast. Chewed the sausages really well, felt fine after. The oatmeal was really watery, so it went down great. I'm guessing that I have REALLY good restriction, and I have to chew A LOT more and make better decisions on what to eat. Broccoli bread is DEFINITELY out of the question. So is spinach. It's wierd to have such a little amount of food fill me up.

swollen throat with fill
I got 3 ccs in my first fill. It all depends on how much weight you are losing.

Weight Loss Totals
I think we should make a thread stating our current losses. I have lost 34 pounds since I began my weight loss surgery journey.

Follow WW?
What is the core program like? I've done points before, but I might want to try my hand at core.

Too tight?
Ok. I'm able to get liquids down and keep them down, so I know I'm not too tight. I guess it's just a wierd feeling for me to have restriction.

Protein Powder
I would like to start getting more Protein into my daily diet by using Protein powder. Can anyone recommend one that is good and affordable?

Eating too much
It is DEFINITELY bandsters hell. We all go through it. Don't worry, after your first fill things will change. After your second fill, things will change even more! I was able to eat anything and as much as I wanted before my first fill. After my first fill, I was still able to eat anything I wanted, but if I didn't chew properly and if things had a "wierd" consistency, they got stuck. I just got my second fill yesterday and man am I tight! liquids are gurgling going down. I'm not hungry. It's 11:00 a.m, I've been awake since 6:30, and all I've had is a cup of coffee and a few sips of severly milked-down slimfast (2 parts skim milk to 1 part slim fast).
-
Too tight?
I guess I'll just keep drinking my slim fasts until I feel I am open enough to start on food. I survived on slim fasts for my 2 week pre-op, a few days here and there won't kill me.

This is really weird - I'd appreciate some feedback
My honest opinion. Stick with the patch and quit smoking. I am taking chantix and haven't smoked in 2 weeks. Do the pre-op diet. Your liver will thank you. My doctor says most people who are in PAIN after surgery is because they don't do a liquid diet to de-fat the liver. You also decrease the chance of damage to your liver, such as tearing or bleeding.

Too tight?
I'm supposed to stay on liquids today, and then mushies for 2 days and then back onto solids. Hopefully things ease up a little bit today so I won't have such a hard time tomorrow.

Not happy
I went yesterday for my second fill. I lost 1 pound in the past 3 weeks. But, I survived Thanksgiving, I survived quitting smoking, and I survived having 3 ccs in a 14 cc band. My doc added a little over 2 ccs to my band. I now have just over 5 ccs. I feel tight as heck. I have gurgling noises come back up when I drink. I had tomato Soup last night and I felt like I was stuck. I don't know if I have too much restriction now, but I think I'm going to just deal with it to get myself back on the losing track. I go back again 12/21. I'll be back on solids for Christmas Day.

Too tight?
Ok, maybe I wrote that message incorrectly. I got my second fill yesterday. I had 3 ccs, she added just over 2 ccs, bringing me to just over 5 ccs. I'm on liquids today and everything that I drink gurgles going down. I feel VERY tight. I have not brought anything back up, but I feel like I want to. Should I get an unfill?

Too tight?
How do you know when you have too much restriction?
