I am on the exact same page. Was banded tuesday and really have been doing bad getting my Protein Shakes in. I don't feel like eating or drinking anything. Had half a Jello cup last night and felt very bloated and the shakes are like torture
I hear ya. I don't want to eat either and anytime I eat or drink it stays there. I walk and walk and it works for a while. but i am miserable

Surgery was on Tuesday.. I'm having a difficult time getting in my Protein and drinking my fluids and am having a lot of gas pain. I know there is an end in sight but I'm ready to feel normal. How long before I start to feel "normal"? Normal meaning no pain and feeling good?

what an inspiration! i need to get some photos of myself just for the encouragement. great job!

my nutritionist was all for it and said she would help me through the rough parts with the diet and would be there if/when I needed her. i suppose i am lucky in that regard. i did always wonder if people would say something like "taking the easy way out"... but I decided a long time ago not to let what others think get to me. my decision, my health, and my life. period

walking is what has worked for me best. and just letting it out when it needs to exit

doing ok. finally getting some of the gas out of me and a bowl movement.. that made a difference. still just sleepy and tired.

I am glad it's over too. I am post-op since Monday and I am still sore but it's getting better each day. I still can't sleep on my side. I really miss that. I am still having a lot of soreness on my left side where my port is and today I ran a fever so I'm not quite there yet. I still have to take the pain meds at night. That's when it hurts the most.
i am really only having pain from the gas I think. I did get to sleep on my side cuddled up to a pillow. that seemed to help. Hurts some when I try to cough, haven't taken any pain meds since yesterday around noon. i am just ready to be normal again. normal meaning get in the green zone. oh my... that sneeze hurt lol

I was banded may 2 and feeling pretty good. How long is the typical recovery period?New to the forum!!!! I am scheduled for lap band on May 20, 2014. I am very excited

Good luck on your new journey! Remember to listen to your Dr., follow all instructions, eat right and exercise. I had my lap-band for 3 years now and I have lost 155 lbs. I went from a size 24 down to a size 6! It's a lot of hard work, but you have to do it to be successful! You can do it!!! Congratulations and good luck!
thanks! you did so well!

Well, that is something I haven't been doing... not since Wednesday. Guess I will try taking some and see if that helps.
