I had the sleeve done June 3rd.....but I also had my gall bladder removed in 2010...I remember my doc saying that your body absorbs the gas....so maybe that's how...it absorbs it and then releases it the old fashion way..lol..Idk ...just a thought.

I had surgery last Tuesday and was told the same as most everyone else..I was told not to even step on the scale until my first post-op appointment. My doc said with a combo of the iv fluids and our bodies going into a "mini" starvation mode due to not eating much or anything at all after surgery will cause our bodies to cling to everything.

I am so with you on this..high Protein liquid diet for 2 weeks prior and another 2 wks following surgery...I had my surgery last Tuesday. I can not stand the liquid or the smell anymore..barely getting in any Protein at all. And everything has an after taste to me. so you are not alone. I have unflavored Protein powder and its gross....haven't tried unjury yet.

I am there with you...the first 4 days were difficult for me and I cheated several times...including going to fast food 1 time...yesterday I did a lot better but still wasn't right on track...so don't feel alone..as of today I also have 10 days left and it feels a little easier for me and I have followed my pre-op diet completely but it's only 11am...I can do this and I am sure you can too.

I too tested low for Vit-D...very low in fact....I have been taking a prescription 50,000 I/U a week for it...have to take it for 12 weeks...I have been taking it for 3 weeks and my surgery was just scheduled for June 3rd.

My surgeon normally does a 2 day high Protein liquid diet...but he is having me do it for 2 wks because my BMI is 50...Someone else on BariatricPal had this same question and a few ppl freaked out on her and told her that her surgeon was doing something wrong. My surgeon said that it really depends on each individual's own situation and I trust him wholeheartedly, he comes highly recommended and is considered a "Center of Excellence" surgeon. Good Luck with your surgery!!

My surgery is June 3rd...and my pre-op diet starts the 20th of this month...was wondering if anyone had suggestions for Protein powders...i plan on using the Premier Protein shakes but I need the whey Protein Isolate powder too...I know about Syntrax Nectar and Matrix, but those are rather expensive....looking for some cheaper options...thanks!!

I also used the cheap test from Walmart...it cost $0.88 I believe...gave me a positive too and indeed it was confirmed by my doctor....I know several people who have used these tests and swear by them.
