  1. Okay lipsticklady! Seems Ive struck a cord! Are you stalking me? Really you have to comment every couple hours on my post? I get what your saying OVER AND OVER again! Just leave me alone already! And there is a difference between somebody being mean to someone else and someone voiceing the wrong in that! I was voicing the wrong in that! Now Im done with this site and people just like you! Grow up! I don't need your comments day after day comeing at me! You said your view now shut up about it and leave me alone! Funny how when someone stands up for themselves the bullies get sooooo upset! Go get a punching bag to let off your anger and mean streak Ive seen from you not only on my post but others, because Im so done with you!

Name calling is definitely a no-no in my book and I hate it when I see it. That said, isn't that what was done in the title, the OP and several posts in this thread? Seems sort of pot meet kettle if you ask me. It's wrong no matter which "side" you are on.

  2. Yes that is true--she does see only the troubled cases, and not the successful cases that out weigh the bad ones. Thank you for that point. I appreciate it!

I'm a RN too and getting my sleeve was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.

Your daughter works as a CNA at a hospital? I guess I can see where that would cloud ones perspective on bariatric surgeries. People go to the hospital because they're sick and have problems.. she doesn't see the majority of people who DON'T have issues and are successful with it. She only sees the bad cases, which I'd be willing to bet are only a small percentage of the good ones.

If you've done your research, you know that WLS isn't a quick fix. It still requires work and commitment on your part. As with anything, there are potential complications.. but you can look at statistics and make an informed decision as to whether or not surgery is worth the risk to you. I know for me, at least, it definitely was. Like I said.. best decision I've made in a while.

  3. Welcome and after a lot of research and reading, I finally decided on the sleeve, mainly because of the extended release meds I take, which you cannot take with the bypass. Also felt better not messing with my plumbing, but not against others doing it, it just wasn't right for me. You have lots of time to make an informed decision. Best of luck to you on your new journey to a healthy new you! :D

  4. I was finally approved May 27th!!! I was and am very excited. Yet still a little apprehensive because my 24 year old daughter who is a CNA is against me getting the sleeve! She says she helps patients that have bariatric surgery and its not good. She is trying to be supportive and offered to help me diet another way, But Ive done all the diets out there numerous times. Everyone else is supportive of my decision, but I guess Im dwelling on her feelings about it because she does work as a CNA in a hospital. Ive done so much research and reading about the sleeve and feel I am well informed and not going into this blindly. Just curious about others thoughts on this subject and their family members feelings towards you getting bariatric surgery? But she is scareing me a bit!

  5. Its been 2 weeks since my paperwork has been submitted!! Congrats to you for getting approved so quickly. When I call insurance to check my status they act as if Im bothering them, but I so anxious to be approved, Ugh so annoyed at this point with this process! Happy for you and you getting a surgery date!! Awsome! :D

  6. My 23 year old daughter is a CNA and she is against me doing the sleeve surgery :( ! I have done my research and feel very good about my decision to do it. I know its hard when a loved one is not on board, but there are just some decisions as adults we just have to make for ourselves. I know its out of love and concern they have their views. Just know you are doing this for your overall health and continueing to live an overweight lifestyle can be bad for you too. Good luck to you, hope things start looking up for you and your daughter :)

  7. I was thin most of my life and just started being overweight in my early 40s, (im 45 now), And comeing from both sides as far as thin and FAT--- I can say I prefer thinner, because I can shop for clothes a lot easier and paint my toe nails easier, not sweat as I try on clothes for heavy people, and be just plain as day--- Healthier! Ugh I cannot wait to lose my weight and be happier and healthier :D

  8. I was just reading a lot of what people say on here and those were some of the main foods! Geeze!!! You take yourself way to seriously Linda!!! And that's what I was doing, asking for advice! Its people like you that I was speaking about! Nothing nice to say, just criticize ! I don't care who likes my post, Im here to get info, like most people here that aren't out to make people feel bad for asking a question!!! Very simple!

Ive just never been a red meat eater, not saying theres anything wrong with it, I do cook it for my family, I just don't like it, as for yogurt-- I just don't like texture and milky taste it has. Another thing I don't like is when someone doesn't like your post and instead of ignoring it they find it necessary to be rude about it! The forums on this site are for everyone who has questions, No one is forcing anyone to read or respond to any post. So if you don't have anything nice or helpful to say then don't say anything at all! Some people have no lives and find a need to be rude to those of us who do! You know who you are! Grow Up!!!

So you can eat refried Beans and other Protein sources. Nothing wrong with chicken, so why would you be "doomed" - that is just a little dramatic for some so maybe it came across wrong. We are only doomed if we choose to be. This WLS works and there are wonderful people here who can give you excellent guidance. Just ask for advice. Everything is not about eggs and red meat. Do you have a diet plan from your NUT or surgeon? No one
doesn't "like" your post, there are just many options out there. At 3 months post op I was told I was eating too much Protein. So change your diet. Very simple. Individually we are all different. Besides my hair is falling out and I am preoccupied thinking I might be bald!!!
