mchaviano got a reaction from stormied7 in 5 days post op.. feeling drained...!
I am nearly two weeks post op. I promise you, I felt the same way. After the first week, you'll start feeling "human" again. I even went back to work because I was getting bored- a good sign! Hang in there!

I am a week post-op and am losing weight very quickly. Anybody else? The morning of my surgery, I was 317. Four days later when I was discharged, I was 324... still shaking my head about that one. I am down to 305 now. (312 on Saturday, 308 on Sunday). Never thought I'd complain about losing weight. lol

Relax, Water weighs in at 8lbs a gallon and they shoved alot of fluids into you in those IV's. You're losing alot of that Fluid now. In fact, treasure the quick losses now, cause it will slow down very soon and you'll be longing for the several pounds a day losses.
Keep focused on the long haul and down the road. In the end it will all balance out and you will reach your goal.

Over time, things will even out. The long term weight loss usually looks like a set of stairs going down on a graph. Just enjoy it for now! It's exciting to see it going down so fast for the first 3 months. Then things begin to change.
    Enjoy the ride!

Stay, it's for the best. You won't be able to drink a lot and they will have you on IV fluids .

    Remember every doctor is different
I would talk to your doctor The first 2 weeks I could take children's liquid Tylenol - after that Tylenol (or the like) only. No ibuprofen beacuse of it's irritability on the stomach According to my doctor no carbonation ever again - I've read people on here do, not very often, but they do. Right now, I'm not willing to take the chance - I was horribly addicted to diet soda and don't want to fall back into that trap. Decaf coffee for the first couple months - I've seen some people have regular coffee as well, it is too tough on my stomach. No cream and sugar - too much sugar. Remember that sugar that moves too quickly though your stomach will end up in your intestine that doesn't do a good job of breaking it down. I put Splenda in my tea - and I have had a cup of Decaf and I add a little vanilla Protein shake to it for "cream" I drink 1% or skim, Yes--just plain - it's a good source of Protein. No alcohol for 6 months per my dr. after that I don't know--It will depend on how my stomach handles it. I bought a ninja blender and use it frequently for various things. -- You might search on juicing on this forum. I would make sure to add unflavored protein to your juices. Good Luck

Thanks for the response. I have been seeing my PCP monthly but no dietitian. Well if I have to restart I will make the best of it. Thanks again.

I've always been the "fat girl with a pretty face." I was the funny one that made the fat jokes before someone else could... I'm sure you know the type. I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2004 and told then that I most likely would never be able to conceive. The thought KILLED me but my husband and I dealt with it and went on with life. I had my first anxiety attack that year and for months it felt like I was literally going to die.
Over the years I developed hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, heart palputations (which actually ended when I stopped drinking coffee), an undiagnosed "abdominal pain" which eventually sent me to the mayo Clinic just to be told that weight loss could improve my symptoms. During an ultrasound, they discovered I had a fatty liver, so we added that to my list of ailments to boot. Hip pain, knee pain, back pain, pain pain.... at 37, years of abusing my body had taken a toll and I was D.O.N.E. Not to mention that my new gynecologist put me on birth control because, guess what...it turns out I CAN still get pregnant! I was mortified at the idea of trying to carry a child safely at this weight. My best friend is large and went through two pregnancies, both resulting in pre-mature births and complications to both mother and child. No way was I going to put myself or unborn child at such a risk.
It took me seeing pictures of us during our May 2013 Smoky Mountain vacation for me to see just how big I had become. I remember walking into our bathroom, taking a deep breath and stepping on our scale. It maxed out. MAXED OUT! I was 356 pounds and miserable. My husband has loved and supported me throughout this entire journey. I started my physician followed WLS plan in October 2013 and was sleeved just this week, Monday, 4/21/14. (That's another post all together.) I know this was the right decision for us and hope to add one more to our little family, the last straw.
