First let me say that I have only heard wonderful things about Dr Elias Ortiz and alighterme. I belong to bariatric surgery in Mexico on fb as well, again, only positive things. I just found some YouTube videos with a US Dr that are very informative; you might like to take a look a them...then come to Mexico for your surgery... Dr Matthew Weiner on YouTube. I have learned so much about ALL Bariatric surgery from his videos. Good luck in your decision.

I fly in on June 28...my surgery is on Sunday the 29...leaving on the July 3.

Just got home from shopping. I got all of my post op foods and drinks for the next 3 weeks. My surgeries in less than two weeks in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Elias Ortiz... It seems quite real now that my cupboards are stocked was after surgery essentials and everything I'm packing for my journey is ready to go.

I'm not worried any more after talking to Janese. I am so glad to hear you are doing well. At least your surgery was a success and you are healing nicely. I'm hoping for the same in two weeks. Please keep us updated on your recovery.

jjinWA, This surgery is such a personal decision that's why I really like this forum, as it helps each one of us in making that decision. No matter what country you have surgery in, there's going to be a problem for somebody at one point or another; all we can do is listen to each person's experience and make the best choice we know how to make. It does upset me though when we get scared by another person's post or even another person's Medical opinion even those in a doctor's office. Like others on this forum I have done tons of research as a result of that research I have chosen to go to Mexico with Dr. Elias Ortez through a lighter me. I am completely at peace with this decision but I did do a lot of research first. I hope you and your daughter find the perfect surgeon for you whether it is in the US, Mexico, or any other country of your choosing. GOOD luck with your journey I wish only the best for you.

Flaxfilly, Don't let this freak you out. I talked to Janese yesterday in detail about this. She explained everything to me she did not minimize what happened but did explain it. If you have concerns I advise you to call her. I am more excited than ever to go, I trust a lighter me, Janese, Dr. Ortez and the staff. I have complete peace about the whole situation and my surgery.

There are just as many reasons not to have surgery in the US. If you don't want to go to Mexico don't...if you want to stay in the US stay. It's all a personal decision either way.

I just had a long conversation with Janese, she put my mind at ease regarding every issue I had. She takes it personal when when someone has a bad experience in Mexico while getting their sleeve. I have the utmost confidence in Dr Ortez and a lighter me... Looking forward to my surgery On June 29th. Everybody just needs to do their research and be comfortable with their doctor and the company they go with. Unfortunately sometimes things don't go as smoothly as we hoped for, but, the most important thing for all of us is that we get our sleeve and we leave Mexico healthy and start the next part of our journey. I appreciate everybody posting their experience on this forum and on this thread specifically it has helped me immensely so thank you for sharing.

Drsertsleever, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience with a lighter me. I go see Dr Ortez in 19 days and now I'm a little freaked out. I don't want it to be a bad experience because my boyfriend is accompanying me and I plan on going to Mexico for other surgeries for example tummy tuck etc. If we have a bad experience I don't think he will be willing to go with me for other surgeries. I appreciate your post, thank you for sharing, we all need to hear the good and the bad experiences. I hope you're healing well and that at least the surgery was good.

I was told well over 2,000. He does 3-5 day for a few years. You can ask Janese from alighterme, she is very helpful.

I go in June 29th with Dr Ortez Tijuana Mexico with a lighter me 55...181

3 weeks from today sleeve here I come. Pretty excited just got all my post op instructions from Rhonda with a lighter me.

Who else goes in June with Dr. Elias?

mayday 16, Thank you so much for posting a reply. Wow your not even 2 weeks post-op yet...how are you feeling? This is the first time I've heard of Dr. Morales, but, glad to know his and the rest of the staff are good and that you had a great experience. Did you have a lot of pain after the surgery? How is the after care instructions? Any specifics have to share would be greatly appreciated. I hope your recovery is fast.
