  1. Hey all, I am 6 mos post op, down 59 lb and I haven't lost a thing in a month! I just am feeling so stuck. I track my food each day, I'm not always great about my water intake but I don't drink any juice or soda, just water or green tea. Anyone else experience this? I just feel like I should further along given my weight and height.
  2. Sleeved on June 24th. HW: 289.5 SW: 276.5 CW: 271 I had gained 2 lbs in the hospital from all the fluids and such but it came off in a day or two. I came home on full liquids but it took me a day or two to acclimate to it. Next week I get to move to purée, I'm so excited to chew! I use unflavored Protein powder added to Soups and such to get to at least 60g of protein.

  10. Today is my sleeve day!! I didn't think the day would come but here it is! I am very excited, I didn't sleep so well last night from anticipation. I'm at the hospital now waiting my turn. Yay!! Good luck to all the sleevers out there today!
  11. Thanks! I can have 4-5 shakes a day, broth, or SF Popsicles/jello. I can mix my shakes with skim milk and blend fruit or peanut butter with it so that helps! I have 6 more days of this and then 1 day of clear liquids only and then it's surgery day!! I'm drinking my water and all too. Thanks for the support!
  12. Hi all - I am on day 7 of my pre op diet and for some reason today is the hardest day! I am almost ready to cave and chew something. My surgery is next Tuesday and truly I have not cheated one bit, I am down almost 10 lbs which is great but boy I miss food today. I was shocked how good I was doing but today was like being hit by a Mack truck - I am fantasizing about all my favorites. Anyone else out there hit a bad stride?

  14. I'm having mine on the 24th!! I'm so excited! I just started the pre op diet, so far so good. I am trying to get creative with my shakes but it's hard when I am at work. Good luck to all of the 24th folks!!

Great news!! I was approved today!!
  20. I needed emergency gallbladder surgery and I lucked out getting Dr. Kane. Now I am on the journey of WLS. I can say the staff at St. Alexius Hospital was amazing when I was there! Dr. Lane was so kind and attentive, I'm excited of possibly having surgery with him again. His staff at the office is always helpful and kind, I have had no issues with any of them. They submitted my paper work to UHC on the 16th, I'm hoping to hear back soon!! I live in Schaumburg and it would be really nice to be part of a support group.
  21. Hey there! I live in Schaumburg and a patient of Dr. Kane. I actually needed emergency gallbladder surgery and I got lucky and got him. Now I am looking into getting the gastric sleeve.

No but I recently had to have my gallbladder removed and my surgeon said I had a very fatty liver. My blood pressure is borderline and I have GERD. No diabetes or hypertension, but I'm on the road there.

Hi all!! I have UHC choice plus and my plan doesn't require the 6mos supervised diet or psych visit, I need to have a 5 yr history of 40+ BMI, that's it. Anyhow, I have a 7 yr history of BMI 40+ except for about a 4 mos period 2 yrs ago I was 38.9 and 39.6. Did anyone else have something similar but were approved despite of that? I'm just worried a very small amount of time will cause me not to be approved.
