Kate's "The Works" special
Hey Kate, well just to let you know you are not alone.. I have had quite a few "crying" episodes. Just feeling overwhelmed. I think going through everything is just soooo much physically and emotionally. Plus you are doing it on your own. You are a very brave lady. As you said every day is and will be better. I can tell you once the drains are out you will feel sooo much better. They are such a hinderance. They made me feel so blecky. Just having them down there really was a pain in the @ss. I hope you wake up tomorrow to a much better day. My thoughts and prayers are with you girl xoox

I am sure but scared at the thought!!
hey there.. I am not sure what type of story you are looking for but I can tell you the band saved my life. I had a cardiac cath done in march of 08 due to major chest pains from being so obese. Luckily it was just spazming capillaries but my doc said I needed to lose weight asap. I was banded june of 08 and reached goal within a year. I am now the healthiest I have been since before I had my children 20 years ago~! The band is a tool though not a cure. I wish you much luck in researching what is best for you. If you have any specific questions let me know.. I am a happy bander and really really love my band.

Daily News!
Hey Angel, Well it sounds like you do need more of a fill then if you don't have restriction. I have heard the number really doesn't matter, for example I have a 10cc band with 5.3 in it and am really restricted where a friend of mine has a 10cc band and finally got restriction at 9cc. So everyone is different. I also couldn't lose weight without my band. I hope you didn't take offense to the food journal suggestion. I was just trying to offer suggestions to help. Good luck and I hope 2010 is the year you lose the weight you were hoping to lose!

Kate's "The Works" special
Hey there Kate! Girl you are amazing! Don't overdo it! I have the same thing one boob is healing faster than the other. I had some internal stitches pop on one which caused it but it is frustrating. The swelling will go down, it just takes time. I hear you on the drains.. I hated them! I hated not being able to wear panties, I really hope your . waits to come. I can't believe you are doing so much by yourself! There is nooo way I could. I am a month out and still have trouble with certain things. I think since I did damage to boob already I am overly cautious about following docs orders. I was told not to even lift a gallon of milk. Not to do laundry, not to pick up things off of the floor, not to put my hands over my head for 10 weeks. gahh! I originally thought it was 6 weeks but when i went and got my stitches out he said no 10 weeks!!! I wish you much luck on getting your drains out! I feel the same about pics, i love how i look but am not ready to show it all yet .. when i was all drugged up i didn't care.. now i do lol. xoxo

oh Angel, I'm sooo sorry, I can't even imagine how frustrated you must be. I really hope it all clicks for you soon and the weight starts to drop off. I will be praying for you. Have you tried keeping a food journal to see where the problem lies? If you are eating slider foods, things that go down easily these calories add up fast. The good news is you didnt' gain this year! So just that in itself is a plus. Are you doing protein shakes? These can add up in calories so quickly. I do not do any protein shakes or slider foods.. examples would be.. yogurt, ice cream, shakes,candy... really anything that you don't have to chew. Good luck and keep us posted!

How do you afford Plastic surgery???
Hey there! I had a extended tummy tuck, breast lift with silicone implants, lipo of the thighs, tummy, flank and back last month. Cost $18,950 . I was also a self pay lapbander $18.500. I am getting a thigh lift next month cost $6,400. For me my health and happiness is just as important as anything else I could or ever want or need. We did save and save for this but put it on a low interest credit card with reward points. I look at it this way, I will ALWAYS owe somebody something, either a mortgage, car payment, house tax bill something. At least with this I have added YEARS on to my life, I have added HAPPPPPPYYYY YEARS to my life. I am lucky to be financially well set so my "costs" will be paid off in no time but even if this was not the case I would do it again. You have one life to live, anything can happen. For me living my life today to the fullest, being the best that I can be, not settling for less than what makes me happy, which in turn makes my kids and hubby happier is what life is about. So I don't buy a brand new car next year.. ok.. that brand new car might last me 10 years.. this new body will last me the rest of my life YEEE HAAWWWW! Good luck and God Bless!

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
lol mimi.. I am sure your boobs will come out great  We got hit really hard by the snow storm.. we ended up with almost 2 feet of snow. It's beautiful but I can say that since I did not have to shovel it. That is the most snow we have seen in a very long time. I stayed inside all day snacking on Christmas cookies all day. Why can I eat the crap out of cookies but choke on meat?? gahh!! I realized today that yesterday was my one month from plastic surgery! I can't believe it's been a month. I feel great but still am not even close to 100% yet. I really thought by now I would be back to my old self. I still have some pain in my boobs and still feel out of sorts. My tummy is doing great, the compression garment helps alot with keeping me feeling from like my guts are going to fall out lol. I don't wear it at night anymore which is nice, I can finally sleep on my side until my boob starts to hurt but I can sleep for like an hour on my side. I had alot of fun at the Christmas party last night. We danced (probably more than I should have) we drank (probably more than I should have) and really just had a great time with some great friends. I so enjoy getting dressed up and going out now. Last year i would have dreaded going, afraid of what people would think, freaked out about what to wear.. not this year.. I was the first one on the dance floor for both the two parties that there was dancing at. I am no longer afraid to be who I am... Love it and I love me.. I love that I finally match the person I always thought as myself as. When I was heavy in my mind I looked like I do now.. i would walk by a mirror and be like gahhh who the hell is that... it was shocking. So glad that I now match my self image  Have a great week, only a couple more days till Santa comes.. Speaking of Santa, what are you hoping to get this year? I am hoping for a cross necklace.

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
yep I had stitches but there are no scars at all. It's weird but you can't even tell that there was anything done to my nipples at all. I am amazed at what a great job he did. Even the long scar from nipple down to under the breast is so thin now, you won't even be able to see it in a couple of months. I viewed his work via pictures before my surgery and that was one of the main reasons I chose him, his stitching skills are AMAZING. He specializes in repairing breasts after mastectomy's. I will be posting pics soon!!! I haven't even started using mederma yet! I am thrilled with all my scars and results

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
Good Morning! Yesterday I had all my stitches removed woo hoo! It was really odd feeling having the stitches pulled out from around my nipples, once all the stitches were out my boobs felt so much better! The stitches were really pulling on them. They no longer hurt at all! Doc was really please with how everything looked. I also had my preop for my thigh lift. I ended up changing the date from Jan 28 to Jan 18. My daughter will be home from college until the 24 so hubby won't have to take extra days off from work. My doc said I need to stay in bed as much as possible for at least a week after the thigh lift. He said that since the stitches are in the crease of the thigh, just the weight of your legs could pull open the stitches. So I will be bed bound for at least a week. He also said no excercizing for 10 weeks post op from thigh lift. I also went and got a little fill yesterday. We went to another Christmas party last night and had alot of fun. We have another big one tomorrow night which I am sooo excited for. A wealthy friend of mine throws a huge 4th of july and christmas party every year. He has it catered, open bar and always gives away thousands of dollars in prizes! Last year someone won a smart car! Crazy! You never know what he has up his sleeve! I am coming down with some crud.. I feel so blecky. We are expecting 6 inches plus of snow on Sunday and I am NOT HAPPY about it at all! Have a great day, I am off to finish Christmas shopping and do some grocery shopping

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
oohhh happy happy day.. so I haven't wanted to say anything afraid it would be true but I was 7 days later for my period and totally FREAKING out. I had realized that all those antiobiotics I was on probably made my birth control not effective.. gahhhhhhh.. that was the last thing on my mind. So I have been having a coronary waiting and today my period came wooo hoo.. so friggin happy so excited. Whew.. what a relief. That would just be my luck. My youngest starts college in the fall and I have a brand new body that is so ready to wear a bikini this summer for the first time in 18 years! Praise God he knew I just needed a scare and not a baby.. I think it was late just from the toll of the surgery. So needless to say this is a great day for me Going to go make another cup of coffee and just enjoy the day. I hope everyone has something that makes them happy today. xoxo

Kate's "The Works" special
So awesome to hear Kate! The meds thing, just to let you know, I had to go off of them, I went through like 65 percocets in 4 days. I knew I would be overusing them. I have a very addictive personality, I used to smoke and smoked 2-3 packs a day, I had a serious over eating problem and now I am smoke free but still struggle with my eating issues. So I made myself go off of them early. I don't think going off of them early is a great idea but for me I had too. So please don't feel like you are on them longer than most. I am just a nut case lol. I am glad your drains weren't to bad coming out! Hey we are not that far from one another. We should try to meet at some point. Maybe this summer we can meet in NY. We are huge Yankees fan's and go to alot of the games. OK really my hubby is a huge Yankee fan and I am a huge hubby fan so I go. I hope you don't try to go home to early.. I still need help with things like unloading the bottom of the dishwasher, transfering clothes from washer to dryer.. doc says no picking up anything heavier than 2 pounds. Really you know how many things weigh more than 2 pounds! But my left boob is proof you can do to much to soon. You don't want a black and green boob! So enjoy this time as you recover.. I try and think of it as my me time.. IM REALLY SICK OF ME TIME lol.. xoxo

Fanny Moves to Phase Two
hey there Fanny! I had this same issue and talked to doc and one of my breast was significantly lower than the other before plastic surgery and he had to do more work to one than the other. This caused one to be more swollen than the other. The swelling has started to go down, although I am still swollen I can see that they will be even once they are both unswelled. I say it is a wait and see game. If you had uneven breast before, one might be more swollen than the other.. hope that helps.. and honestly I wouldn't worry about it. If in 6 months it still bothers you then would be the time to think about a revision. Hey I'm just glad mine are now pointing straight out instead of straight down. And they are no longer almost at my belly button life is good

Kate's "The Works" special
Hey Kate, I was off of meds completely in 5-6 days. I drove the second week but that was ok since I hadn't been on meds in so long. I thought I had already posted to this but I guess not. If your drains are in your pubic area you might want someone to go with you. It was quite painful and I don't think I could have driven after having them removed. I do have a low threshold for pain though. Good luck sugar and I loved your facebook status.. you do rock!

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
.. gahh to the knee? I would never get it done if that were the case. I didn't wan't scars where people could see them while I was wearing a bikini. The thigh lift scar is in the crease of my groin around to just under buttock. All the scar is in crease where you wont see it. My arms aren't that bad, at least I don't think they are. I will wear a sleeveless shirt and I do have some extra skin there but it doesn't bother me enough to get the surgery and have the big long scar down it. I hope they come up with a better surgery for that. Like with the thigh lift if they could keep the scar in the armpit somehow I would get it done. I went to my nieces christmas concert and my whole family was there. No one in my family has seen me since surgery and everyone was shocked at how different I looked. I was pretty excited. Although I have fallen off some damn wagon here lately. I actually just ate 3 rice krispie treats I bought at that concert. Gosh! I did call and have a fill appt for Thurs and lord it can't come soon enough. It's not that I'm eating alot it's just what I am eating that sucks. I do go up and down sooo much on the scale on a daily basis. But in general I am down about 10 pounds from day of plastic surgery. I can wear the 8's really comfortably now. I wear jeans every day and am loving how flat my tummy looks. My boobs are still swollen but the bruising is now light green and no longer looks so yucky. My scars on my boobs are almost invisible already! My doc did an amazing job. In a month or two you won't even be able to see them at all! The line is soooo thin and it's already faded so much! Really excited. I am getting to the point of hating my garments. Gosh these things are such a pain. I have to wash one every day so I have a clean one to wear every day.. what a pain! I wish I had like 4. LOL. Well, I am off to bed. Have a great night!

well here I am 24 days post op from my plastic surgery.. I am feeling pretty good probably if I had to measure it.. 70%. I go on Thursday to get my stitches all out which will be awesome. That is also my preop day for my thigh lift. UGH. I am so dreading that surgery. I still can't believe how long it is taking me to feel 100% again. I know that is really going to make me feel bad all over again. I do know it will be worth it and I don't want to drag it out. I want to be in my best shape ever this coming summer.. I think though if I had to choose I would have done this surgery during the summer. These damn garments are a pain in the @ss. Also the shivering really makes the stitches pull around my nipples and I am constantly feeling weird sensations throughout my body, which I am sure is nerve endings firing back to life. At least I hope that's it.. lol. I have finally been getting into the christmas spirit. I am still unable to do the majority of household work which is frustrating but i am sure not as frustrating as it is to my hubby and kids who have had to pick up the slack. lol. Well, I am off to get dinner out of the crockpot.. i made a pot roast in the crockpot and a homemade eggnog cheesecake for dessert. I am testing the eggnog cheesecake recipe for a work thing my hubby has to bring a dessert. So this is the trial taste test. It looks amazing so if it tastes as good as it looks I think I will be making this for his party. Have a great night!

Hey there Kate! I am so glad you are doing so great! The swelling is a pain but will eventually get better and better. I hope Nurse ratchett is super nice to you lol :willy_nilly: xoxo
