Hey Amber! How have you done so far? My hints would be:
1. make sure you are on top of your fills
2. I don't eat breads, pasta or rice (really don't eat carbs)
3. always eat meat first then veggie
4. if need a sugar snack only eat 100 calorie pack m&m or swedish fish LOL my downfalls
5. excercize, excercize, excercize.. really speeds it up.
6. chew chew chew
7. eat off of a salad plate.
8. never eat more than 1 cup of food at a time
9. drink as much as possible.. try for 64 I always end up between 36-64 ounces
10. Never never drink carbonated beverages.
I hope this helps! Let me know how you are doing and if there is anything I can help you with. Where do you live?

Hey there Tall.. Congrats on beginning the process!!! My hints would be to be really aggresive with your fills, never eat more than 1/2 cup. Try and stick to 3 meals a day.. avoid pasta, rice and breads (they swell and can cause your band to slip) chew chew chew and eat slowly. No drinking 1/2 hour before or 1/2 hour after and try and drink at least 64 oz a day. So now here is the thing.. I am not on a diet.. I eat whatever I want just in very small amounts and I am satisfied. I dont do alot of carbs just because I don't have room for them and I don't want to have a slippage. I really didn't start hard core excercizing until recently due to weight loss slowing as i get closer to goal. Do you have specific questions? Please feel free to ask anything! You can email me as well at 1morrisfamily@comcast.net. xoxo Allie~

hey there.. sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I had to self pay. Tricare at the time didn't pay for lapband. I also paid for my plastic surgery.. total a little over 40 grand.. worth every single penny! I would do it again in a heart beat and I think being a self pay helped me with the motivation to lose the weight.

Hi michelle, I would say if you aren't focusing on food, full on less than a 1/2 cup of food at a meal and losing weight you are at your sweet spot.. I hope that helps!

Thanks Molly.. that was so sweet.. It is funny how 7 months ago I would have never believed someone would want to look like me. What a wonderful thing this lapband is!! Good luck and happy banding! xoxo

Hi Nancy, Thanks for the message.. I have just followed the band rules and really stick to it.. I don't eat pasta, rice, carbonated beverages and really stay away from breads as well. I was pretty aggresive with my fills i have 5.7cc in a 10 cc band. I have lost 135 in just over 11 months! I am not a big excercizer i just try and move my body as much as possible. During commercials I get up lol.. I do try and be active. I hope that helps! Please don't hesitate to ask if there are any other questions! xoxo

Hi Janet, I had my boobs and tummy tuck done at same time then I had my thighs done. I am wearing a size 1o jeans can wear 8 but since my thigh lift was only a month ago I don't want them to be to tight. I am super happy with my results.. good luck to you!

You look amazing as well! Isn't it great to be a success story? Getting the lapband is the best thing I ever did. I saw your pics and you are a major hottie! Congrats on your tt. I am getting an advanced tummy tuck, breast lift with implants, thigh lipo and body contouring lipo on November 19th. 2 weeks from today! I am terrified of the pain but after seeing your results, realize it will be worth it. I am also getting a thigh lift but have to wait till february for that. Keep up the great work!

Hey there Army! You need some more pics in your before and afters!! I hope you have a wonderful day girl! xoxo

Hey there.. I wouldn't say I worked out alot but I tried to keep my body moving as much as possible. I always got up and either walked around or ran up and down the stairs during commercials..

I honestly haven't worried about maintenance. I know I will never be fat again. I still keep my band pretty tight so I am constantly aware of what and how much I eat. I am more afraid of losing to much than gaining. My hubby is constantly telling me to drink a protein shake just to bump up my calories for the day. I don't think about food anymore which has been the biggest gift of all. I used to think about what I was making for break, lunch, dinner constantly. It is freeing to not be so caged by food. My biggest fears are all the attention I get now. It is difficult to want to look hot and sexy and the attention it gets. I just want people to admire from afar hahaha. I know this problem will only get worse once my ps is done.

thanks caldwell, I have to say I followed the band rules especially no pasta, rice or carbonated beverages since those can stretch your pouch. I also never ate more than a cup of food at a time. Also getting your fills and excercizing as much as possible.

Hi Tara,
Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. Congrats on being banded and welcome to your new lease on life. The important thing to always remember is this is a tool not a miracle cure. If you follow the band rules which are so simple you can lose alot of weight!!! I eat what I want just in very small portions and I eat very slowly. I have been super aggresive with my fills and that has helped me tremendously. I am always available if you have any questions. xoxox Allie~
