Hawaii here I come in a size 8!

I hear you! One of my goals was to climb diamond head.. I was terrified I would be huffing and puffing and not make it up.. We were first to the top in our tour group! So proud of myself!

Hawaii here I come in a size 8!

Thank you!!! I have stalls all the time lol I'll bounce around the same couple pounds for a week or two then bam I lose 4 or 5 then stall again. I started tracking my weight through my fitness pal and found a pattern.. It's how I lose which took so much pressure off. I am sure you will have a blast in February. I have been losing around 10 pounds a month. I was a low bmi when I started so it's slow going but it's going try tracking to see approximately how much you are losing per month. I figured I would be 4 pounds less than I am now when I got to Hawaii so my tracking was pretty darn close!
  4. I had my band removed and revised to bypass at the same time. Honestly it was the easiest surgery I ever had! I got up and walked and walked right after surgery. I went home the next morning and was off of pain meds night of surgery. Everyone is different but I am a baby when it comes to pain and this was a breeze! Doc said most pain is from the gas build up. So walking asap and keep walking helps to move that gas out.

Hunger, what does it feel like?

I am 6 months out and never feel hungry I actually have to remember to eat. I also can eat less now than I did at the beginning. I am at about a 1/2 cup.. Anything more than that and I am in agony. Lol lesson learned small plates haha good luck and happy losing!
  6. So excited we leave tomorrow morning for Oahu! My hubby and I are going for our 24th anniversary and packing my suitcase I was giddy with excitement! I tried on all my "dream" dresses (I bought 10 dresses a year ago hoping one day I could wear them. All a size 8) and I am going to toot my own horn here but I look fantastic lmao! My hubby is gonna freak when he sees me in them. I am 12 pounds from goal. Hoping I lose an inch to fit in my "dream" New Year's Eve dress I bought lol. I am so happy I revised from band to bypass! (I was successful with the band-lost 120 but was about 20 pounds heavier than I am now and could never get below that- it eroded so revised to bypass) I am 6 months out from my revision and 70 down (had to gain 50 to be eligible for the bypass ) have a wonderful day everyone and happy December!

Advice for 4 days post op

I also had bowel issues first 10 days.. I would rather have diarrhea than be backed up which is a big issues with narcotics. I felt great a couple days after surgery.. I did a lot of walking because most of the pain you feel is gas pain from the air being trapped during the surgery. Walk walk walk! It helps to get that gas moving out. I have had no trouble with dairy or sugars (I haven't tried over 10grams though and I won't) my trouble is with anything fried. So I pretty much eat cleanly. You will be feeling great before you know it! Feel free to msg me if you need any help ????

Advice for 4 days post op

Everyone is different but I completely stopped pain meds night of surgery. I had a revision and really had almost no pain at all. I do not like the feeling pain meds give my head lol good lu k!

    Maintaining Her down there

Shave everything every day. Easy to maintain.. It only takes me 2 seconds
  10. Hi.. I suggest checking out the boards on here.. Band to sleeve .. sleeve to rny.. I was a successful bandster for 6 years until it eroded. I chose to be revised from band to RNY because after seeing the sleeve to RNY revision I felt I wanted to go with the one that has the best success rate and the last surgery. I have tricare but I was a self pay. Long story there. Anyways I am 6 months from my RNY and I friggin love it! I wish I had done this first! It's been a breeze compared to the band! I have had no complications, I am 13 pounds from goal and I feel amazing! I can tell you from experience every wls patient has their own preferred wls surgery. I was a huge advocate for lapband but I wouldn't recommend to anyone now. Do your own research. The revision boards on here are what made me choose RNY and I'm thrilled I did. Good luck and I am sure you will be thrilled with whatever choice you make.
  11. We are about the same time out but I have tons of energy. I'm 16 pounds from a normal bmi and I take 5000 mg of Biotin a day and my hair is thicker and nails are growing like wildfire! Are you sure you aren't anemic? I found out I was and with Iron infusions I'm back to my high energy self. Still love my rny! My profile pic was taken last night. Feeling great and I feel like I look great. Hope you are back to high energy soon!
  12. I am 5 months post op and the past couple of days I have been feeling so full. I had a couple bites of steamed fish yesterday at 10 am and couldn't eat again until last night at 7 and again only couple bites and felt like I was going to explode. This morning I just had a tablespoon of peanut butter and I feel like i have eaten an entire thanksgiving dinner plus dessert! What could be going on?? I can't even drink I'm so full. I do keep burping hoping to feel less like I was going to explode.

    Meat?

I am 5 months out and have had no issues with any proteins. I eat pork, chicken, shrimp, steak, fish and hamburger. I really haven't had issues with any foods. I prefer fish and veggies but that's just because I like it a lot lol
  16. Looking for a local buddy!!!
  17. I was a band to rny revision. I was self pay so for me the #1 reason was I saw the band to sleeve to rny forum and said oh hell no. I am 5 months out and doing awesome. No hunger pains ever I have to actually think to eat. I never feel hunger at all! No issues, no dumping and I eat healthier than I ever had.. Feel free to pm any questions.. Good luck!

    Drink with straws....

I use straws as well but waited until the 4 month mark to be sure my tummy had healed. I am able to drink way more with the straw than without it. I have had no issues with air at all.

    I did it!

    Congratulations!!!! It's a wonderful feeling!

    Setting Your Goal Weight

I have surpassed my doctors goal and now am only 22 pounds from a normal bmi. That is my goal. My biggest worry is to stop there. The weight has been just melting off and I worry I will keep losing past my normal bmi number. I haven't excercized at all. I figured I would when I stopped losing which never happened lol I'm still losing 10 pounds a month.

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

I am 5'8" HW 305 CW 186 my lowest weight was 155 my goal weight is a normal bmi which is 164. Picture on right is when I was 193.
  22. You are probably weak from the surgery itself not the weight loss. I lost 20 first week as well and now I am losing about 10lbs a month. If you are getting in protein and plenty of water and taking your vitamins you are good. Don't worry before you know it the scale will slow down and may even stall for awhile. It's normal. I keep track of my weight on my fitness pal so I can see that I may lose a lot then stall then lose..
  23. Congrats angel face!!!! I don't have any tenderness. I had my surgery may 21 and am down 58 I only have 23 left to go too! My goal weight is a normal bmi. Love it!
  24. allielee

    Should I have this surgery?

I am 4 months out down 57 and would do it again and again. I feel amazing. Honestly to me any complications are better than living with the morbid obesity hanging over my head. I would have definitely died from some obesity related disease. I am 25 pounds from my normal bmi and loving life.
  25. I had mine in 2009 I kept sun off of it for 2 years and it's barely visible.. I am laying down in the pic.
