    Chocolate cravings

I love premier protein. I have one every day. Chocolate is my favorite.
  2. My only regret would be I wish I had had bypass first! I was a revision from band to bypass in May 2014. I am 2 pounds under my goal weight. Which was a normal bmi. Thrilled doesn't even begin to describe it. The only issue I have is with alcohol. I don't handle it very well. It's probably a good thing lol. I didn't exercise, the weight still came off.. I do eat sweets now and then. I feel fantastic and I look the best I probably ever have. It was a much easier surgery for me than the band was and I had my band removed at the same time I was revised to bypass. It's soooo much easier than the band.
  3. I am a foodie.. I was banded in 2008 and was a success story.. Kept all my weight off for 6 years until my band eroded. I struggled with food with my band. I didn't tolerate meats or veggies very well but could eat a sleeve of Oreos.. I worked hard to make my band work. I had to work my butt off but I kept the weight off. I did throw up a lot with the band.. In May I was revised from band to bypass and damn I wish I had the bypass first! I love it. I eat whatever I want just tiny portions. I haven't thrown up once and honestly I'm healthier now than I have ever been! I have had no issues with vitamin deficiency. I take the same vitamins I did with my band but my numbers are better now! I didn't even consider the sleeve after my doc said a lot of the initial people sleeved are coming back to be revised to bypass. I was self pay for both so I didn't even consider the sleeve. Bypass helps me stay in control but I get to enjoy all foods! I love to cook.. I just don't really feel hunger but can enjoy the food I do make and eat..Feel free to msg me with any questions.

Would you have WLS again? What kind?

I was banded in 2008 loved my band! Lost all my weight in 9 months (120 pounds) kept it off for 6 years and then my band eroded. Had a revision to bypass in May. Wish I had done the bypass first. It is SOOOO much easier than the band was for me. I feel great, look great and my levels are actually better now than they were with the band surprisingly.. But I can eat foods now I couldn't with the band.. Like chicken, steak and all the veggies.. I struggled with meats with my band unless it was in some gravy. I haven't thrown up once since my bypass. I was anemic with the band but not with the bypass. I'm very pleased.

    Need advice:

I too was a bander and had to have a revision.. I was self pay for both surgeries. Lap band worked for me but it eroded. I chose Bypass over Sleeve because of the following: #1 reason - seeing the revision board on here from sleeve to bypass #2 I only wanted one last wls surgery #3 bypass is the gold standard.. #4 I wanted the one with the BEST results. Now with that being said, I would have been successful with the sleeve because I was successful with the band. I chose bypass quickly.. I just wanted the final one.. My doc said a lot of the first people sleeved are coming back for revisions to bypass .. That's all I needed to hear. I love my bypass! I had the revision done at the same time I had my band taken out. It's been 9 months and I am 3 pounds away from a Normal BMI. It's so much easier than the band was! I love it! I have not thrown up once!

    Hair loss to the max!

I've been taking sublingual biotin and B12 methyl folate sublingual and my hair is thicker and healthier than ever! I think the sublingual is easier absorbed than just swallowing the pills.. Maybe try that. I'm 8 months out and my nails and hair are growing like mad!
  8. I tried alcohol a couple times and it makes me feel terrible. It goes right to my head. Goes away and then I just feel yucky. I miss being able to drink. I've tried low sugar wine, vodka with crystal light and water, White Russians and vodka and low sugar cranberry juice.

    I'm out....

I too was afraid, I was a revision so riskier but honestly it was the easiest surgery I ever had. I am 8 months out and so glad I did it. Fear is normal. I decided the risk was worth it for a healthier life. I am only 3 pounds from a normal BMI. Good luck and many prayers!

5'9 women what was your goal weight?

I am 5'8" and weigh 167 my goal weight is 164 a normal BMI. I think this is the perfect weight for me. Right now my measurements are 38-30-36 I love the way I look and since I am "busty" feel proportioned. I wear a size 8/10.

    Setting a goal weight

I am 5'8" and a normal BMI for me is 164. That is my goal. I am 3 pounds away! I am thin now, wear a size 8/10. I picked this goal with input from my physician, BMI calculator and my fitness pal. It's the perfect number I think for my height.
  12. Um definitely NOT! I love being thin and healthy!

    Lap Band Removal

Hi! I had my band removed and bypass done at the same time on May 21, 2014. My band had also eroded. I did awesome! It was the easiest surgery I ever had! I was up and walking within a couple hours of surgery and was off of pain meds by the following day. I had my surgery done in Connecticut. There are physicians who will do it at one time. There is no reason they can't except they want more money with two surgeries. My insurance was going to require two surgeries and I would have to gain 75 pounds to be eligible there was no way I could do that. Mentally it would do me in. So we paid out of pocket. Total was $28,500. Worth every penny! I am 3 pounds from a normal BMI and it's so much easier than the band. Wish I had bypass first!!!!
  14. I too worried!!! I had my revision from band to bypass done in May 2014 and honestly it was the easiest surgery I ever had! I think the key was I walked immediately and kept walking. Very minimal pain and I was home 12 hours after surgery. I am 4 pounds from a normal BMI now when I woke up from the surgery (had it done all at once) I was convinced I didn't have the bypass done because I felt so awesome hahaha
  15. Clear soup definitely counts as fluid intake.. Just watch the sodium level.. It could make your retain water if you are consuming to much sodium.
  16. I had many many stalls.. I found that by tracking my weight in my fitness pal I could see a pattern to my stalls.. I would lose a couple pounds.. Stall.. Lose a couple pounds etc.. But the important thing is the graph went down.. My body would freak out after losing a couple pounds and hold on and then release.. So after keeping track every day for the last 8 months I found I have been losing about 10 pounds a month.. I'm 3 pounds from a normal BMI and I thought many times the stall would never stop lol it will just have faith and patience..

    Cry

I hear you!! I had tricare and was a revision. They told me I had to gain 50 pounds to have the revision from band to bypass (my band eroded) so I gained the weight. Then they said I had to gain another 25. I was a frigging mess! I had worked so hard to lose all my weight with the band to be told I had to gain 75 to have the revision is crazy. My husband praise God knew what it was doing to me mentally.. We ended up just paying the $30,000 out of pocket.. His take is he will get a lot more mileage out of me and my happiness than a new car will.. ???? so I am sitting here 8 months out from my revision with only 3 pounds left to a normal BMI. My BMI pre lapband was 47. Tricare can suck it lol. Good luck and hang in there!!!
  18. I originally chose lapband in 2008 (self pay) lost all my excess weight and stayed at goal until January of 2014. My band eroded.. I then chose to be revised to RNY Bypass in May of 2014. I didn't want to have to get another wls surgery (I checked on here and saw the revision from sleeve to bypass forum and knew I only wanted one last surgery). I had to gain 50 pounds to be eligible for the revision. I have since lost 75 pounds. I am doing fantastic and damn I wish I had done the bypass first. Reasons why: 1. I was self pay for both 2. I Haven't thrown up once with bypass 3. I can eat anything I want just in very small portions 4. No sliming 5. I can eat breakfast with no issues. 6. I can gulp water 8. I don't feel hungry 9. I can eat healthy food easily and now I can have 1 cookie and be satisfied. Love my RNY bypass!!! The only downfall to the RNY so far has been I really don't drink alcohol anymore.. It goes right to my head.. But honestly it's a minor downfall lol
  19. I am not a veteran (almost 8 months from RNY and only have 5 pounds left to a normal BMI). I can eat anything I want but with that being said the following make me feel really ill afterwards so I avoid: Any and all fried foods, ice cream (but I can eat Dark chocolate candy-think the ice cream goes down to easy and then I feel terrible ) white carbs (I can eat whole grains in very small portions). I stick to the following foods that make me feel awesome! Fish and a veg, steak and a veg, pork and a veg and eggs. I LOVE a my RNY! I had lapband previously (was a successful lapbander but my band eroded so had the revision) wish I had done the RNY first lol

    Sweet Tooth

I haven't deprived myself of sweets or carbs.. I will have a bite or two and am satisfied. I try to stick to dark chocolate and whole grains though. I am almost 8 months since RNY and only have 5 pounds to my goal which is a normal BMI. I myself believe if I deprive myself it's all I think about. So by allowing myself to indulge a smidge it keeps me in check. I usually have one dark chocolate dove piece a day. It's also heart healthy ???? I don't believe in sugar free either.. Sugar free items are full of chemicals which I will not be putting in my body. Give me the real stuff just in tiny amounts.

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

Update- I am 5'8" and weigh 163. Hubby says I'm skin and bones (and boobs haha) I think I could maybe lose 5 more tops. My hip and collar bones jut out now. I'd be super happy to stay this weight however.. I wear a size 8 talls and medium/ large tops (boobs are reason for large lol)

    What ya eating tonight?

Butterball turkey kielbasa and frozen green beans tossed in a little olive oil and tastefully simples fiesta seasoning.. Baked for 35 min. Yum! So good! I use a salad plate for all my food and only fill half of it.. Otherwise I tend to eat a bite or two to much and feel terrible.
  24. Love mine- premier protein chocolate yum!
  25. So excited we leave tomorrow morning for Oahu! My hubby and I are going for our 24th anniversary and packing my suitcase I was giddy with excitement! I tried on all my "dream" dresses (I bought 10 dresses a year ago hoping one day I could wear them. All a size 8) and I am going to toot my own horn here but I look fantastic lmao! My hubby is gonna freak when he sees me in them. I am 12 pounds from goal. Hoping I lose an inch to fit in my "dream" New Year's Eve dress I bought lol. I am so happy I revised from band to bypass! (I was successful with the band-lost 120 but was about 20 pounds heavier than I am now and could never get below that- it eroded so revised to bypass) I am 6 months out from my revision and 70 down (had to gain 50 to be eligible for the bypass ) have a wonderful day everyone and happy December!
