  1. Hey all! I got my sleeve 9 months ago. I am a 25 year old teacher in New Jersey. Im down 5 sizes! I have many clothes- more than 3 dozen items of clothing size 12-18 but they no longer fit! I'm selling these so I can buy ones that fit now! I was a size 16 for the longest so most clothes are in that range but also many items are smaller or larger anywhere from a 12 to an 18. All clothes are in great condition, CLEAN, cute & in-fashion and many professional items as well!

Check out my post if your needing transitional clothes for a great deal! ( more pix on Craigslist)

  2. I am a hairstylist, and nioxin is a good product to use, you only have to use the Shampoo and conditioner(If needed) the other steps help restore your hair, but the shampoo on a daily basis will help keep your hair from falling out. it will also help regrow your hair if it does fall out. you have to use shampoo everytime you wash your hair, so always use nioxin

Hey sleeveme, any insight on the nioxin which line works best? Also, you cannot order from the website if I get at Amazon or the like, is that the real thing? Sometimes 3rd part sites sell knockoffs!

  3. I am 7 months out and have had no hairloss. I have very fine, thin, slow growing hair, so any loss would be noticeable. I did not take any extra Biotin. I do not use special shampoos. I've always gotten in all my Protein (except for the first 5 days after surgery). I take a very good whole food based Multivitamin, including enzymes and Probiotics, not chemically synthesized Vitamins. (You really can't imitate nature). And I was a happy, optimistic post op patient. I did not obsess over the scale or stalls. I didn't stress or whine over the diet restrictions. I even had the added physiological stress of a bad C. diff infection from a dental procedure 6 weeks after surgery that resulted in 2 months of diarrhea and required a fecal transplant to cure. Still....no hairloss.

So my "secret recipe" is Protein, good nutritional supplements, and above all, a good attitude.... But in the end, I think it's all a crapshoot. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen.

    What multi do you take?

  4. I am fully aware of Biotin, Gelatin, Protein intake and the like (don't mean to be rude but please do not post a lecture on them). My question is has anyone found a product (shampoo, treatment etc) that they used to prevent Hair loss before it started? I have very fine hair. I'm one month out and can see my hair getting dryer. I have read hair loss typically starts at month 3 and am wondering if there is a product anyone used in this process that helped protect them? I've heard of Nioxin but have also heard that once you discontinue use your hair ends up thinning! Help please!

  5. I'm in week 4 and down 25lbs! I tried tuna fish blended up with mayo & onion powder tonight for supper -yum! How did you handle the rotisserie chicken? I love that stuff! So far I've handled all foods well. Had my 1 month f/u today and we discussed exercise. After viewing my incision sites I was cleared for swimming ~yay! Have you had your follow up yet?

The chicken goes down fine But I do put a bunch of gravy to make it really moist. I've been ok with tuna salad I make at home but I had dinner with my parents and ordered that at the diner and it did not go down easy - so weird. I don't use celery onions or anything, maybe they do? How was tuna for you?

  6. Hey all I had surgery on July 1. I just began week four. Wanted to know if anyone is in my boat and if you'd like to update weekly on your progress (healing, feeling and whatcha eating?) so we can compare and maybe get some ideas?

My healing has improved so much in the past week. sleeping position, bending, everything is so much more comfortable!

Today I ate 3oz of Greek yogurt for Breakfast, rotisserie chicken chopped super small with gravy for lunch and egg drop Soup and baby food sweet potatoes with pumkin pie spice for dinner. I still do 2 Protein Shakes a day, started adding mint Extract in chocolate and I am doing better with them!

I'm going to a bachelorette party at the shore this weekend and would love to swim, has anyone done so yet?

Hope to hear from some people on week 4!

    -Danielle

  7. hey all, I'm 10 days out. On my 1week post op, my dr removed the steri strips from my incisions. Now, I have sticky gunk and what had stuck to it all over my belly in the outline of where the strips were. I tried alcohol on a swab and oil (very carefully as to not get too close to the actual wound) with no luck, any suggestions?

  8. I was sleeved July 1st. I'm on day 6 post op. I'd love someone around my date for support too!

This liquid diet sucks, I can't wait for purees, just looking forward to the chance to cook something other people can eat too and feel like a human again!

I've been ok with pain, only took one tylenol since dscharge. Then, yesterday my largest incision, on my left (over my stomach) began to hurt everytime I stood/walked. How have you been doing with pain?
