1. How's everyone doing??? I'm 7 weeks post op down 46lbs 27 of them from surgery and feeling great, no complication! I can eat more than I thought I'd be able to but it's still small portions I just expected smaller still! Anyone else feel like that?

Alls good though as I'm losing & smiling x hope you all are too x

  2. Thanks willow, so I'm day 4 post and I feel great incision pain in minimal (bruised) gas pain almost gone drinking a good litre of Fluid in a day slowly but constantly and feeling more normal! Roll a month post op feeling 100% and eating solid food!!!

  3. It was in Af rhythm(abnormal heart beat) for about 30hrs, they were getting ready to shock my heart back into normal rhythm but the medication they had been pumping into me finally kicked in a few hours before as after 48hrs your at risk of blood clot from it but after maintaining a normal rhythm for 6hrs I was discharged on meds for 6 more weeks and have to see a cardiologist to follow up as it shouldn't have really happened to me at my age and with no underlying issues so they think I may have had an underlying heart issue so best I get checked by a cardiologist from now on anyway, I'm all good now though and should stay that way x x

  4. Yeah from reading others posts I've had a good pre op but I've stuck to it to no cheating so I'm good with that! Just think how much into your weight loss journey you'll be in 2 weeks too that's the motivator! 1.5stone down about 9 to go lol x

  5. I have PCOS that was only diagnosed when going through infertility treatment, prior to having my PCOS diagnosed I was banded lost over 6 stone fell pregnant had a lovely little boy but band slipped during pregnancy so band removed all my weights back and I'm having VSG in 3 days time!!!!!!

My surgeons say I had the odds stacked against me with family history & PCOS to loose significant weight alone but that I will be over the moon with my VSG results ! Here's hoping!!!! Xxx I'll let you know how I get on x

  6. Yeah I could still say I'm happy doing it and happy with who's doing it, I just feel really anxious that a I wake up again (little bit) have life altering complications (more worried)! But overall I can take a deep breath and say this will be ok but there's that niggling feeling that won't go away till a few weeks after I guess x

  7.
I am 7 weeks post op. Just back from my check up at the hospital today. Since my operation I have lost 17kg so I am a happy camper as I have always struggled with loosing weight.

17kgs that's 38lbs oh my word, that's amazing I'm so glad your doing well and seeing such fab results x x

  8.
I am not ashamed just not willing to be judged any longer so what they don't know doesn't hurt them and why should I tell them. If I were having my appendix removed I wouldn't have to explain my choices to them so don't see this as any different lol.

Good luck with your operation, you will have to let us know how you get on. It seems like such a long time ago now since I was starting the pre-op diet.

    Thanks lovely!

So are you pre op? How far along?

I meant are you post op!! Lol

  9.
It is those very people I wanted to avoid telling so I just chose not to tell anyone other than my husband and son. I have never regretted my decision NOT to tell anyone else.

Thanks Willow13 feel better I was worried if it did get out they'd think I was ashamed which I am not ashamed to live longer and give my son a better parent x

    Exciting times!!!!! Xxx

  10.
Hi Bettygirl. Your in with a good group here we will all try to help you with any questions you may have. I never told anyone other than my husband and son about my operation.

I have told my parents my hubby and my best friend, that's it! I'll probably happily explain it to people in a year if I'm on a winning journey but I don't want people waiting for me to fail and get to say 'I told you so' if they don't agree with wls!

  11. I'm self funding so it's just where the surgeon/company I choose is based so it's a 2hr drive, worth it for feeling like I'm in good hands even though I'm sure there are great surgeons all over.

Mr Ammori is a lead bariatric surgeon with impressive awards and publications but also out of the many many surgeries he's done he has a 0 mortality rate and a 0.25% leak rate! Good going!

I said to my husband I am not ashamed of WLS id be happy to tell people maybe after my journey it's the people who are waiting & watching for your failure I don't want to entertain! X

  12. Hi everyone

I'm all done and survived.

I can't fault the belgium hospital or my surgeon and his team. Everyone speaks very good English and I don't mind being quite, slept most of the time.

The barium took its toll and threw up whist waiting for contact flight but it was okay.

I was hoping I wouldn't be one of those who got hungry but am lol. Starting purees but really want to crunch.

Not sure how I feel now, it was hard and the weight slipping off so just going along with it, one day at a time.

Congrats and all kinds of best wishes on your journey xx
