    Inverted T tummy tuck

If you're planning to lose more weight, I highly recommend putting off the tummy tuck until you're at, or at least close to your goal weight. If you do it now and then lose more later, your results won't be very good. I just had an invert T with lower body lift on Thursday, and I had been maintaining at goal for 6 months. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!
  3. I have 2 cats, and I'm definitely worried about keeping them from jumping on me! And I had planned to take 2 1/2-3 1/2 weeks off work completely, but I'm going to need to work from home while I'm recovering, so glad to hear you're feeling up to it already! I won't have a pain pump, but I plan to stay on a schedule with my pain killers for at least the first 3-4 days, so hopefully that'll be enough for a fairly smooth recovery. Tomorrow is my big day… can't wait!!
  4. I love the ribbon with a handle idea! And that kids chair… very clever! Glad to hear that you're already able to get out of bed without pain. I live alone, but I'll be staying with my parents immediately after surgery. I'm curious if you feel like you could be on your own at this point. Just trying to get an idea of how long it'll be before I can get back home.
  5. Did you get a recliner? I'm planning to just have lots of pillows, and hoping for the best!
  6. Yikes! My surgeon said the first 2-3 days are the worst, so hopefully that means you're close to turning the corner!!
  7. Glad you're ok. Looking forward to your updates!
  8. Just checking in on you, MxKitty! Sounds like you're ready. Hope everything goes smoothly for you tomorrow. Be sure to update when you can!
  9. My insurance wouldn't cover anything! I had my pre-op appointment today & I'm getting more excited! It's crazy to think that 2 weeks from now it'll be over. I just can't wait to see what my body really looks like under all of this excess skin! I live alone, so I'm planning to stay with my parents for probably the first week or so. I had planned to take 3 1/2 weeks off from work, but it looks like I'm going to need to work from home part time starting about a week & a half after surgery. Hopefully it won't be too bad… just some light computer work. I'm just bummed that my co-worker decided that she needed to take a 6 week leave of absence starting Monday!! Oh well, at least they all know what's going on, so I should only have to take care of urgent stuff.
  10. I'm scheduled for a fleur de lis tummy tuck with lower body lift on the 23rd. I don't have any advise, but I have my pre-op this Thursday and will be happy to share anything I learn. If nothing else, now you know someone else going through it with you!
  11. 157… clearly last week was a fluke!

This might give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

    Weight loss timeline

I am around the same starting weight (280) and want to lose 20-30 before surgery. 160 has always been my goal! I'm really glad to see that you did it and it makes me think that I can do it too. If you don't mind me asking, did you stick very well to the diet? Aka eating a lot of Protein, vegetables, not a lot of junk food? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I lost a lot of weight years ago on Atkins, so I already knew that eating low carb worked well for me. Since surgery, I've stayed focused on hitting my protein & Water goals. These days, I typically get 100-120 protein and keep my carbs around 50ish (mainly from vegetables). I also told myself that there's nothing that I can't have, because that just sets me up for failure. But at almost 11 months post op, I still choose not to eat highly processed foods most of the time. I also started working out 6 days a week at about 4 months out, and lots of walking. The key for me was making small, sustainable changes and not looking at this as being on a diet. This is my life now, and every change I've made has been something that I'm comfortable doing forever. Follow the plan and find what works for you… you'll get there!

    Slow Loss

At 6 weeks, I was down 18lbs from my surgery weight. Today, I'm just over 10 months and down 100. I remember feeling like I would never make goal at 6 weeks because it was coming off so slow… but I'm 18lbs away now. It's hard to be patient, but stick with your plan… you'll get there!
  17. A week late for the challenge, but I made my goal of 168 today! Onward and upward… or make that downward. 18 more to my final goal!
