  1. Hi Doug,

I am too big right now for yoga too, but as soon as I feel I can do it, I want to start again. I have done yoga for a couple of months at a time, a few different times in the past, before I got bigger. I think I just want to feel I am not squandering this opportunity. I want to make the most of it and I need a giant change in lifestyle. But, I also don't want to obsess about it.

So nice to find someone else with some interest in this area. :)

  2. I don't see much about this topic in forums. I'm looking to connect with like minded people or discuss these interests with anyone else interested. I envision my new life with lots of clean eating, organic whole foods, meditation, rebounding, yoga, spending time in nature, oil pulling, juicing, dry brushing, etc. I've already dabbled in it over the years, but want to take it much more seriously (although not too seriously) - if that makes sense to someone, we are kindred souls and I'd love to connect. :-)

  3. Hi. I know this is a long shot, but I'm wondering if there is anyone from Tahoe seeing this. I have my husband (who also had the surgery) and a couple of friends and family as support, but can't find any kind of support group up here.

I guess I may need to create one, but I'm not sure if there is a demand even.

Thanks. :) hope everyone who reads this is well and enjoying life.

  4. Hi. I had the surgery on the 9 th of this month and a friend of mine had it about 3 weeks before me. I have not had issues, but I did not have to be on liquid that long. But, my friend had a lot of issues with hunger and she told her doctor about it and he adjusted her diet. Maybe yours can do that for you as well if you let them know what a hard time you're having. I know every surgeon seems to have a different plan. The first week out of the hospital I could have SF pudding, yogurt, blended Soups, cream of wheat, applsauce and Protein Shakes. And it has worked well for me. It's my second week out of the hospital and I am already starting the mushy stage. So, my point is that maybe they can make an exception for you. Not everyone has it that strict. I'm certainly not saying you should eat those things. But maybe you could. Have you asked them about it yet?

  5. Hi. My name is Stephanie. I had the vertical gastric sleeve surgery on the 9th of this month. So about a week and a half out today. I feel great. I went on my first real walk today. A little over a mile. It went well, but I did get light headed on the way back and could feel my heart beat in my throat, which I had never felt before. So, that was odd, but I made it and it felt good about 5 minutes after. ;) I live in Lake Tahoe and it's absolutely gorgeous today. Perfect day for my first big walk. My starting weight was 338. I am 28 pounds down from my pre op visit and 11 down since surgery. I started my mushy stage today. Poached egg and grits for Breakfast. Was wonderful! :) I hope to find a great support system here and be great support for others. Hope this wasn't too long. Thanks for having me.
