that colostomy thing was what really intrigued me, and the death thing could im sure be traced back to extremely high risk patients. or maybe even surgery errors no 1 is perfect.

Delarla, thank you for your candor. Can you tell about the person who had the colostomy bag? What exactly happened? Is there a thread that tells what happened I could look at? I am at the last stage of getting surgical approval having seen the cardiologist, pulminologist, and having a endoscopy. I just have to sign up for nutrition classes and then I will be getting a surgery date. Needless to say, I am very very nevous. I am 100% healthy in every other way except that I'm overweight. My heart is "perfect" according to the cardiologist, I don't have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acid reflux, joint pain, or any of the accompanying problems that can happen from being overweight. I would hate to think I would go in totally healthy and then come out having really messed myself up.

I understand you are very intelligent, I never doubted that, one bit of info you posted is frightening. Can you tell me how many deaths are because of lap band surgery. Also can actually be proven, I also wonder how many lap band surgeries have been performed. What the percentages would actually be if there is actually any deaths reported that can actually be blamed on it. To begin with most of all patients are at high risk unless im wrong about that im no physician. I know you are a wealth of knowledge and hardly am trying to sugar coat the surgery in question, but im sure the benifits out weigh the consequences of the overweight madness, or i dont think folks would be getting many lapbands. Intelligent people research weight loss surgery prior to making their final decision. Is it fair to keep intelligent people in the dark and pretend everything's peaches? I don't think so. If you don't like what you read, click on another thread. I'm personally horrified that anybody pumps up weight loss surgery without first warning people about the variety of painful and expensive potential risks.

Getting a Band or a Bypass comes with risks that can potentially be fatal. Hidden unaffordable expenses, infections, port replacement, erosions, hospitalization, severe reflux, dehydration, coma, death. Don't ignore the truth just because you're happy with your personal experience.

im sorry, yours didnt work. you seem to be mentally bashing your self because of that. and you dont deserve it. so try to get over it and focussing positive will help you in the long run, the positive reports far out weigh the negative. i know a lot of people who have noticed people only go to the internet when the have problems and if they are doing well they go on with life and lose weight and you dont hear from them much. simply because life is good and all is working well with the lap band that they have. i know this is true simply because this is my case. but bugging off the hook only makes it worse on you and others that surround you. and i know you wouldnt want that.! right i just dont want to see you run off people with bombardment of negativie vibes. and remember you can do this you can do this,

Talk to Andres with a problem..... What a joke. Don't call him from the US with a problem. If you do, he just tells you to jump up and down and if that doesn't help give it a few days. Well, the few days I gave it almost cost me my life. That's how Andres deals with a problem. He tells you to wait and then will not return your calls. Listen up everyone, this is from my friend who just gained back 50 pounds after losing 150 from her Bypass operation. This is a real-time post since we are chatting right this second. She just joined Weight Watchers, and I've been telling her I'm considering getting the bypass. These are her words, so getting a bypass (for me) is currently out of the question. Lisa, The woman at WW told me there are a lot of women at the meetings that had surgeries like ours. Women that have busted their staples and had to be rushed into ER for overeating again. You dont want to do that to yourself and neither do I. My emotional eating comes with a lot of psychological issues too and I need to take control of that. Its not going to take control of me so you gotta do the same. You are going to start this new year on the right foot Lisa. Your business is going to take off and you are going to look good doing it, inside and out. Besides once you start changing your eating habits you wont be as tired. Ive noticed a HUGE difference. Im not nearly as sluggish as I use to be. Dont do the surgery. The counselor at WW says your skin will shrink with you. You wont end up with excess skin all over the place like the surgeries. The surgery is a quick fix and yes you'll lose the weight but you can gain it back. Look at me. WE need to learn how to eat properly and not be emotional eaters. you have to at least drink Water no matter what because dehydration causes the cramping. make very sure you drink water, no matter what. if you drink lots of water the cramping will stop. for sure AND IM SURE THATS THE MAJOR CONCERN IS THE CRAMPING. it can get pretty freaky when cramping up. get the water down now.

stool softeners are avalable at any drug store and they will work. they call for 2 i think in your case id go for 3 to get things moving, dont try and force anything whatever you do.

I had researched the inamed band for a couple of months before the operations. We went to meetings etc. It seemed to be so much better than the gastric bypass ,no disrespect to those who have had that done ...I am just a sissy less evasive etc. My husband and I are self employed without insurance . Well we figured we would have less health problems without being obese etc. And maybe an insurance company would consider us as customers instead of obese and denied insurance wow how rude. Well I went in first because I wanted this operation so bad (and my husband was a little nervous) I had the operation it was great I woke up just fine no nausea nothing ,I went in five or ten min. after waking up to kiss my husband before his surgery,Then he went in came out with no problems . I thought this was a breeze ,I felt a little tight in my chest but that was it. I had iv's hooked up etc. I had not attempted to drink sip anything yet. later on that evening the iv was done and it was time for me to try and sip some Water and take my liquid meds whewwwwwwwww that was it. I began vomiting it was horrible ,The doctor came in and injected me with some anti -nausea meds. it worked untill I tryed to sip some more Water and meds about a hour after the shot ...more vomiting and oh my gosh my chest felt like someone was hitting me with a sledge hammer ...well this went on for Four Days imagine that well I did'nt get any meds or water down during that time nor did I get to take my thyroid meds. the whole time ....I could'nt stop vomiting even a drip from an ice cube would make me vomit ....for crying out loud the doctor said I was vomiting up my own saliva ....violently vomiting it got to a point where I could barely breath...the doctor took me in for emergency surgery I was vomiting into my lung and had to have that vacumed out.....I feel like such a Failure.. My husband has done just Great I am so proud of him! WAS DESPERATE..AND HAD NO CHOICE...MAYBE IF I HAD THE

PROPER TREATMENT ,,,I COULD HAVE KEPT MY BAND IN...IT

WAS REALLY HARD TO LIVE THAT WAY FOR ALMOST FIVE DAYS

FEELING LIKE THAT...ANYWAY 5500.00 DOLLARS LATER TO

REMOVE THE BAND..ANDRES ALSO SAID HE WOULD PICK UP MY

SON OR SEND SOMEONE TO THE AIRPORT MY SON HAD TO GET A

CAB FROM THE AIRPORT AND THEN A TROLLY THEN ANOTHER

CAB...I WAS UPSET ABOUT THAT ...JUST A LOT OF EMPTY

PROMISES ..I AM SAD FOR ANYONE WHO GOES TO YOUR

CLINIC...OR YOUR HOTEL..I GUESS IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO

GREED AND MONEY...13,000.00 LATER AND A HORRIBLE

EXPERIENCE..THERE IS NO $500.00 AIRLINE CREDIT AS I

SAID THIS ALL BOILS DOWN TO MONEY AGAIN..AND ITS BEEN

SEVEN MONTHS AND NO ONE FROM YOUR HOSPITAL CARED HOW

MY MY HUSBAND WAS DOING WHY THE CONCERN NOW..HE HAS

HAD NO WEIGHT LOSS ONLY APPROX. 25 LBS IN SEVEN

MONTHS..YOU AND ANDRES COULD HAVE CALLED US ANYTHIME

I am going to let everyone read the letters I received from Andres and Violet concerning my operation at the Molding Clinic in Tj...Hopefully everyone can come to their on conclusions. Please remember We have not heard from them since the operation.approx seven months ago.And now since I saw another post from someone else with a bad experience I wanted everyone to hear about my experince there with Andres as my Patient Cordenator and since I posted my letter titled " Dr Huacus and Andres in Tj" ....I have been plaqued with these letters of harrassment from Violet and Andres formally the molding clinic.I just don't want anyone to have this doubts ...here goes ...any help would be appreciated ...Thankyou Sheri....This was the first letter I received after my post...." it was a real mindblowing experience being out of the us. and all after the fourth day i told my wife something is gonna happen today. or we are heading to a hospital in San Diego in a rental car a cab or whatever. and it was pretty rough after not being able to relax one bit since the operation. i must admit it was a pretty scary situation.
