Friend said she's disappointed
StayingStrong replied to beme2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your friend sucks!! Sorry #notsorry it's the truth. Ignorance is just that - keep you head held high and do your thing sister! You will have lots of support here. -
85% convinced. How do I get to 100%?
StayingStrong replied to Tootles1975's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had surgery 3 weeks ago - so I very clearly remember my pre-op fear. I never got to 100%. A doctor of mine matter of factory told me I needed to do something drastic, he said you don't have any health problems now but there is 0% chance that will continue as you get older. So what is your plan? And her referred me to my surgeon. I left his office pissed and embarrassed. But he got the idea percolating. I started asking different doctors I knew what their thoughts were and they all said "do it yesterday" My advice is do your research. Find the best surgeon you can. And then go for it. It's not easy, is no quick fix. It's harder and easier then I thought. Trying to take my daily Vitamins, drink my Water, get my Protein, swallow vile tasting medicine and pooping consume my thoughts!! But I have had enough of not wearing the cutest clothes, being the funny fat girl (seriously I'm hysterical ) and being too fat and too tired to do all the stuff I wanna do. Not to mention positioning everyone in photos to hide my fat!! I've been fat most of my life with small windows of being fit. I have felt beautiful always so that's not the issue. I feel powerful, strong, healthy and hot when I am fit. -

The link above (I think its the first comment after your post) is the one I have. I love it!! Haven't used it post sleeve but used it before as I was trying to stop eating wheat. My house is always filled with teens and they all LOVED it!! I sprayed very lightly with olive oil and salt and roasted it before I tossed with sauce. Zucchini reduces down alot which is no big deal for sleevers but if you're making for family make lots!! YUM YUM. PS today is my first bite of food in 3 weeks!! I had really watered down re-fried Beans and some 0 fat greek yogurt. YUM YUM!!!

I thought I was going to have my for the surgery but didn't. My surgeon's office said it was fine. No tampax just pads though... They also put those hospital pads under you in case there's any mess. Good Luck!!

Hi @@Amy373 I did a few days ago when I was 7 days post op, It exhausted me and I had a fever that night. My surgeon felt for me it was okay and I would not hurt anything on the inside. BUT my bodies re-action told me it was too much. Listen to your surgeon AND your body!! Exciting that you want to!!!

@@Mississippi Girl, I am dreaming of my collar bone... Good for you!! Amazing isn't this? -
Sorry to hear that! I was the opposite spectrum in that I hadn't pooped in a week and nothing was working!! I had surgery on the 21st of April and am NOT allowed fruits yet. Having protein drinks (I mix the boxed sweet ones with 1 cup of milk and protein powder and then have that throughout the days. And chicken and vegetable broth (which I add unsweetened Unjury protein powder to if I need more protein) Check with your surgeons office and make sure you are having exactly what they want you to have. I had a restaurant soup strained week one and think it had too much fat because after two teaspoonsfuls I got sweaty and nausea's and that lasted for 2 days!! UGH. Good luck!! It's going to be SO WORTH IT!!

Having Surgery in a few hours!
StayingStrong posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning from Santa Barbara beautiful sleevers! I am leaving in an hour for my surgery. Feeling good, albeit a bit dehydrated! A major first step in the long journey ahead. I am accepting prayers and good thoughts My stay in the hospital is only for 1 night so I will post as soon as I can. Here we go!! -
I've been hungry too. BUT I have noticed if I do drink 64 ounces of Water my stomach is pretty full. I've been really spending time trying to discern head hunger from stomach hunger. Definitely think I have both. I am not allowed anything but liquids yet. Just hang in there and do exactly what you are supposed to. It's pretty fool proof IF we don't get creative in following the rules. Hang in there hopeful2loose2014. I am 8 days out and its harder then I thought it was going to be but we have had the surgery so now lets make it successful!! 'm rooting for you

Having Surgery in a few hours!
StayingStrong replied to StayingStrong's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone!! @@Amy373 I ended up staying only one night (as planned). Wasn't until the evening that I felt okay enough to go home. I was still feeling "iffy" but my boyfriend and best friend felt comfortable taking care of me so decided to head home. I've not had trouble swallowing but I take very small sips (okay except once, I took a big swig - but didn't swallow!!) It's possible that I will never poop again... And 3 days ago I got nauseous and it hasn't totally gone away. I am taking something for it. Overall I am doing great. There's definitely little set backs here and there but I am very determined to make this work and make it stick. Unfortunately I am already having serious food cravings. Their not an issue tight now as I am on liquids and there is NO WAY I am going to mess this up. As soon as I am a little further along I am going to explore getting a therapist and dealing with food addiction. Hang in there everyone. We are awesome!!! -

Tired of sweet protein drinks!
StayingStrong replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury makes a bariatric protein powder in unflavored and chicken soup. I have also been adding non fat milk and unflavored protein to 1 of those super sweet protein drinks - measuring so it's 70 grams of protein (what my doctor says to have daily) and finding it easier to handle. Good luck!! -
Ugh, so sorry to hear this. Did your dr. Give you antacid meds? Call your surgeon. Also be really mindful of taking baby swallows of everything. So sorry - sending healing thoughts your way

Having Surgery in a few hours!
StayingStrong replied to StayingStrong's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi sleeve buddies!! I'm back at home and it's been 3 full days since surgery. First night was pretty miserable - still at hospital and was throwing up and just felt overall not good. Slowly it's getting better. Trying to stay hydrated, take meds., Protein, Vitamins. That's a lot to get down!!! My beautiful friends have surrounded me with 24/7 care so I'm feeling supported. Was running a low grade fever yesterday - below what doctor said to call in for (but just) It's 3:30 in the morning here and I'm feeling ok ( just thirsty) - I wake up every couple hours and drink Water. That's all for now. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. -

10 days post op...female problems
StayingStrong replied to shawna978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would call your doctor(s) tomorrow. The weekend is coming up and you will probably just worry. Call your OBGYN and make sure everything is okay. AND call your surgeons office and see what they want you to take for better "movement" 8 days is too long. Since you have access to doctors, use them!! WOWZA 13 pounds, congratulations!! Thats so great!
