I'm so in!! July 4th is my birthday, so whatever I lose will be an awesome birthday present!
  8. I feel as though this is getting easy, which is good for the mushy phase!

  9. Okay, so before I had surgery I did c25k. I didn't do it the regular way, though. None of that robotic voice. I did Zombies, Run 5k. It's an app on your phone that helps you train for 5ks. It's kind of an extension of the original app Zombies, Run which is just as awesome. Why is it different? It tells a story. You are literally a character in a story. Not only are you running, but you'll do a few seconds of skipping, some squats, heel lifts, all to get yourself conditioned as well. When I did it, my stamina was amazing. I found myself running for ten minutes or more at a steady pace. You can also put your own music to it which makes it even better. I totally recommend it. Even though I'm three weeks post-op, I did week one over because it is so light (walk for 10 minutes, slow jog for 15 seconds, walk 1 minute...repeat).
  10. 16 days post-op (I think) and I just want to work out.

I was allowed 5 pound hand weights at one month. I was also allowed to do body weight exercises at one month, my only limit being - if it hurts...stop. Many others have to wait much longer. I have no clue what the requirements are for heavy lifting or sports.

I've been doing walking/light light light jogging (like 15 seconds worth of jogging), and Richard Simmons because it's low impact.

  11. I got put on full liquids early...the cream of chicken soup brought a tear to my eye.

    I officially HATE protein shakes!

I cannot stand protein shakes! I've tried everything and end up gagging in disgust! It also makes my mouth dry and my tongue feels coated and furry. It only happens when I have the protein shakes. At least that means I'm getting water in!
  14. I feel so much better than yesterday!

    post op from April 29th

I got my sleeve on the 29th and having a time of it. It's very difficult to get my protein in because it's hard to keep down. Water's pretty simply as well as popsicles, but when it comes to broth, I want to throw up at the smell and taste of it. At night I've been getting fevers. They aren't high enough to call a doctor, but it worrying me. Because it's the weekend, I didn't want to wait in the waiting room for hours only to be sent back and have to wait in an ER room for another couple hours. It goes down after a while, but yeah. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow (let's hope they graduate me from clear liquids to full liquids a week early)! But today I got to take out my pain pump! That was a plus! I haven't used my pain killers for almost 24 hours because I'm not in much pain. Whatever pain I'm in is tolerable. Like light cramping. I still can't sleep on my side so I have to sleep propped up on my back just slightly. It's not too bad.
  16. 5 days post-op. Getting fevers every night. Doctor tomorrow :(

      StayingStrong

Glad you're going to the doctor!! I had fever every night too and everytime i over-do with working too much and exhausting myself I spike a low grade fever. Tomorrow is 2 days post op for me. Feeling pretty good but still tire easily. Tomorrow I am allowed to start pureed foods. Looking forward to chewing again!! Hope everything is okay with you! Keep me posted!!

you can try to sleep but it is difficult. It is okay because you will get plenty of sleep once surgery is done. good luck.

    April 29 th 2014 surgery

I feel as though today has dragged on. I've been so excited about it and it seems to go on and on. Tomorrow is going to drag on as well just because I have to be there two hours before surgery! But oh my goodness, I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight!! I'm too excited to sleep!

    April 29 th 2014 surgery

I'm actually getting real nervous about it! Yesterday I was driving to work and I had second thoughts. Luckily I had a few people who reassured me that it was the best decision that they've made so I feel so much better and confident about this. Did anyone have problems finding the right Vitamins? I was looking up the exact dosage I needed and the guy at GNC was absolutely no help.
