  1. Sponsor? You mean buddy or what?

Yes...a buddy. Like an AA sponsor. I have a GREAT support system at work and amongst family, but 99.9% of them don't understand what I'm truly feeling.

  2. I am on my 2nd round of 2 week pre op diets. The first time I lost 17 lbs but my surgery didn't happen because I had recently had URI and the anesthesiologist couldnt get my oxygen levels to stay high enough when I went under. So, it is rescheduled for April 22 and I am 1/2 thru the 2nd preop diet. I'm having a very hard time this time. My weight is going up an down like a yoyo...I am bloated, constipated and emotional as hell! Trust me I am drinking plenty of liquids! AND unlike last time, I am hungry. I may be pre menstrual but that seem unlikely as I had my last cycle in March (it lasted 2 weeks) and the one before that was 6 months prior!! I've lost 57 lbs since January an today is the first day in all these months that I have felt very much like I just want to throw my hands up and say EF IT!

There are other things going on right now that are hugely stressful and my usual coping mechanism is food. I'm working hard on changing that, but to top it all of I can't do my usual workout because I burn more calories than I take in every day!!!

    I think I need a sponsor....

  3. By the time I made the decision to have lapband, I was already about 30 lbs down. Now, a little over a week away, I am 57 lbs down. I was actually told the other day by a doctor that I didn't need the surgery if I could lose tht much I could just keep going! I flipped out. I told her...I can lose this much weight like nothing...but then I stop losing, I get discouraged and I gain it all back and then some. I have tried every damn diet known to man. I have type Ii and high bp. AND I have a 7-1/2 year old and a 13 yer old that need their momma! This, for me, is a last resort. I won't EVER see that doctor again.

I've had a weight problem my whole life so my family and friends have done nothing but encourage me!

  4. I went in for my lap band surgery on March 25 and was put under. My oxygen levels fell and the anesthesiologist had to wake me up. No surgery :-(. I had a upper respiratory infection the week before, and even though I was well my lungs were still not recovered.

I rescheduled for April 22. I live in Southeast Texas and my allergies are horrible year-round. Two weeks pre op this time and I have a very mild sinus issue going on. My GP says I should be fine as my lungs are clear and I'll be done with a 10 day course of antibiotics next week. However, I'm still terrified that it will happen again.

    Anyone else had this happen?
