  1. I also have barrets esophagus and had RNY 5 months ago. My doctor told me it was the route to go. I haven't had any issues. Losing slow but doing great!
  2. I'm 5 months out and can now say I'm glad I did it. The first two months, I was not glad! It gradually got better. I have no issues. I can eat anything and not get sick (haven't tried Pasta or rice yet) but I expect I'll be able to eat it. I'm a slow loser but content.
  3. @@amylynns -- Thank you. I'll try it soon! I can eat bread with no problem. I try not to though! I save it for the really good stuff if I'm going to eat bread.
  4. Gosh we're almost twins (statistics wise). I had my surgery in October 2014 so I'm not as far out as you. I am a beer drinker and had my first a few weeks back. I had two Michelob Ultra's. I didn't notice any bloating. Just got a buzz quicker than normal. Presurgery, I could knock back 10 beers easily. I'm curious to see what other have to say also.
  5. Pasta? I so far can eat anything. I haven't tried pasta yet. What are your experiences? I'm missing my spaghetti (in moderation of course) Yes, I have a spaghetti squash at the house but wondering what your experiences have been with the real thing?
  6. I've yet to find anything I can't eat. I've averaged 2 # a week. Now I can't eat as much as I used to could. The only thing I haven't tried is Pasta. I plan on trying it soon.
  7. Glenda, you sound just like me. My surgery weight was 225.8. I average about 2 pounds a week. I don't get that feeling of "oh my, can't have anymore!" after only a small amount. I've tolerated everything really well (maybe too well). I've ate 1/2 of hamburger with bread, one morning I had two donuts and if anything it only made me 'light headed'. Now I'm not going to make a practice of the donut thing... I've had the foamies 2/3 times and I've had pork chop felt like it was stuck once and steak once but I've ate steak at other times and no problems. I also wondered if Dr. made my pouch bigger!
  8. I've bought the Genie bras before and they were not big enough for me. I currently wear a 42 DD. I bought them at walmart and had to return. Maybe if I looked online, they would have bigger sizes.
  9. I've lost about 38 pounds and just now my bras are starting to pucker. I cannot wear shirt that shows the shape of my bra. Do anyone of you have suggestions of decent bras that I can buy "while" I'm loosing. Once I've lost, I'm willing to spend more money to get nicer bras.
  10. I'm just past 4 months and have lost on average of 2 pounds a week. My doc says I have slow metabolism.
  11. I'm 4 months out and my husband just cooked some hamburger patties and it's killing me. I'm feeling "real" hunger. I haven't dumped on anything so I could eat a hamburger patty but I've already ate my supper.
  12. I have not dumped either. I have ate donuts (once), 1/2 hamburger with bun & small order of fries. The only symptom I might have is that I get light headed.
  13. I did gained 5 pounds last week also! This week I've gone back down 2 but gosh, what a disappointment! I've backed off my aerobic exercise and need to get back on it! 14. Thank you for answering. Evidently it's a rare situation. It's not happening near as often now. I do need to go in for my annual exam so I'll tell my doctor about it. Thanks again!
  15. Not sure why I double post! And can't delete it, it makes me put some sort of a post in here. So do any of you NOT dump?
  16. Well I tested my pounch really well this weekend. Last night I ate 1/2 hamburger bun and all. And a handfull of fries. No problems. Today I ate a few Cookies and cupcake for my grandson's birthday, no problem! Now mind you I do not intent to eat like this except for rarely. Not sure that I like the fact I have no restriction and don't seem to dump!

  18. I'm 15 weeks out and craving a burger really bad. I don't have restriction either. I'm going to order a small one tonight and eat a little of it anyway....I've got to get it out of my system!
  19. How do you make your Hot Peppermint Mocha Premier Protein Shake? Sounds good!
  20. I'm almost 15 months out and have averaged only 2 pounds a week. My doc says I'm loosing at a 1959 model (meaning I'm almost 56) Has anyone else experiece this. The doc doesn't seem concerned but I would certainly like to lose faster. I'm following the program including exercise!
  21. I'm almost 15 weeks out, don't have hardly any problems with food. I've never thrown up but I had foamies twice. It's just a bunch of saliva that you basically have to spit out and it's very thick. My doc said that is the precurser to throwing up but I haven't got any further than the foamies. Can't even remember what caused them except one time it was pork that I ate too fast and too big of pieces.

  25. I seem to have NO restriction. My surgery was 10/22/14. While I do pretty well at getting liquids & Protein and don't usually go over 800 calories. I feel like I could eat a whole hamburger with absolutely no problem! I'm dreaming of coconut cream pie and think I could probably eat it. At Christmas I ate one piece of fudge a day for three days with NO problems. Haven't had anything terribly fatty yet.
