  1. Going through the same thing. Walking seems to be the only thing that helps with the gas build up. Also if the liquids are room temp they're easier to go down and you don't get the tight feeling in your chest as much. Feel like I'm sleeping too much tho and not getting all my Protein and Water in. Remember when eating tons was like nothing and now even a little bit is the hardest thing lol.

I went home late afternoon yesterday, in pain, not to much bloating. All I have had to drink is water and my pain medicine. I havent felt hungry at all. Im having some left sided upper back discomfort, but besides that Im not feeling so bad. My mom and sisters stayed with me till I feel asleep. Im still sleepy now. Thats all I want to do is rest.

You should have some Protein Shake or something. And rest is what you need to fully recovery. I sleep a ton but feel a little better everytime I wake up.

  2. I know the changes are sooo weird. I was never satisfied with the amount of food I would have now I get full on a small sip Of Water. Lol I feel like water & Protein goes down a lot easier if it's really old. I started my Vitamins today & took forever to get my multi Vitamin in. The flavor grossed me out but was easily tolerated before surgery. All the others were ok. I think I'll have to try a different multi vitamin this weekend.

My doc suggested waiting a week and then only doing chewables like Flinstones or something. Orange flavoring isn't too bad. Crazy that we have to stay hydrated and do like 60 grams of protein but can't do more then 4 Fluid ounces at a time. Read on here that people are freezing their shakes into ice pops. That may help with getting it all in

  3. I had mine done at Lennox hill hospital in manhattan. I guess I wasn't excepting pain or whatever cause it's totally thrown me how much this hurt. You've got to mentally prepare yourself. Also I have nasuea and vomiting from the anesthesia so that was painful. Back home now and do better. Just trying to get all my Water and Protein in between my massive naps (walking up and down the hall takes it out of me). Oh also they don't always tell you but the surgery causes a lot of gas to build up in your stomach and then releases over the next few days and can feel painful.

  4. I was discharged yesterday late afternoon. Had a rough night at home last night. Was up a lot, in pain, still had gas pains, feel really bloated & gross. Finally had a Real shower as soon as I got home which was really nice. I'm struggling with getting all my Protein in & Water. Seems like even though I been sipping it maybe I'm drinking it too fast. I suddenly get this discomfort pain in my chest & have to wait for it to pass. I haven't really been nauseous. But I'm still taking my pain meds that dr sent me home with. Hoping & praying each day gets easier for us all!
