    So upset... 2wks out

Your body is going to do what it's going to do. I think 9 pounds is fine. Remember, you still may be all bloated from the surgery. Stay the course, keep getting all your fluids and Protein, and you'll lose just fine at your own pace. You'll see.

    Some how disappointed

Weight fluctuates for many reasons. You know it's not from what you're eating, because you physically can't eat enough right now to legitimately gain. No worries.
  3. Yup, ketosis. It's a good thing, means your burning fat
  4. The way I look at it is you have a couple choices. Have the surgery, embrace the changes and more likely than not live a happier, healthier life, changes and all. He will come around. I've seen it a million times. Don't have the surgery, probably live with regret and resent your husband because he'll be happy nothing has changed, but you will still be unhappy, unhealthy and obese. It takes a little time to find your new normal post op. But in the grand scheme of things, that's a blip on the radar. Soon you'll be living life again, but in a different way. You'll be thinner, healthier and happier when you go to dinner, party's, the movies, out with friends, etc. You'll feel empowered to make good lifestyle choices. Your husband will see how much happier you are and will wonder why he even questioned you having the surgery in the first place. You're 50 years old. Time to do something for you and not worry about anyone else thinks.
  5. Not what I said at all... but hey, read what you like into it, we all seem to be doing that. I said people deserve second chances. I said not all doctors who perform them are unethical. I said I don't want to make anyone feel ashamed for having a revision. I said I found my place here on this board after I never thought I'd be fat again, so I can see how someone would have faltered. Let he who be without sin cast the first stone... everyone deserves a second chance... I did not say any of those things you think I said. Not my opinion... fact. This thread was started as a discussion about revision surgery, which we were having a nice civil one until you came along and decided to be the thread police and declare that we were shaming anyone who has a revision. There's always one who has to come in and claim everyone is shaming someone when we try to have a frank, honest discussion. But you're new here. I'll let it go.
  6. I'm 2+ years post op, and my absolute max is a cup of food, and that only depends on what it is. Most of the time it's 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup. I know someone who is over 3 years out who's max is 1/4 cup. If those are considered "normal" portions, then okay.
  7. @@Jen Mac Okay, so let me get this straight. You're okay with someone who has not resolved their issues with food having surgery after surgery after surgery? Because that sounds like very unhealthy behavior to me and shouldn't be encouraged or enabled. If they are a true food addict, the best treatment isn't another surgery, but psychological treatment first and foremost. My opinion.

    Stall is killing me

I just think you're at the normal stall/slow down that happens at that time after the initial large losses. Try not to worry too much. Try to up your Protein and calories a bit and just let it ride. You'll start losing again. Every single one of is who went through it did. Also, take your measurements. I'd be willing to bet you're still losing inches.
  9. I'm still not seeing it as non supportive. I guess you would know this person's tone. Are you sure you're not reading too much into it? Did you ask her what exactly she meant by it? I think we all have a tendency to be hyper sensitive after this surgery sometimes.
  10. My surgery weight was 235 and my goal weight was 150. I surpassed that and got down to 143 where I've been maintaining within a few pounds for over a year now. My surgery was in August of 2014.
  11. I just see a supportive text. Am I missing something?

    Morphine drip?

Believe me, you're going to want the pain pump. Don't be a hero.
  13. Never. The answer is never. Your stomach doesn't just grow back.
  14. Oh, and: Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  15. 4- Your sleeve will never be the size it was before surgery and they don't stretch, so good luck with that. And who is the hack of a surgeon who took 85% of your stomach out for a temporary fix?
  16. Dr Matthew Weiner says if it hurts, don't do it. You're either eating too much or too fast. Take TINY baby spoon bites and chew well. If it still hurts, maybe go back to shakes for a few days and see if you can try again later without pain.
  17. Don't get into the habit of replacing carby stuff with the Protein you're supposed to have instead. Find foods high in protein you can tolerate. You only have so much room in there, make it count. I had just mentioned in another thread how some people with the lap band get into trouble and stall or gain weight back by eating slider foods like crackers and such because unfortunately the protein rich foods seem to get 'stuck' and won't go down. Obviously you're not a bander, but having tolerance issues, but I would stick to soft food and even shakes before I would turn to that stuff first. Sometimes you have to take things a bit slower or even go backwards until you're ready to try new things and be able to tolerate them.
  18. That's easier for some people than others. If I try to make myself eat/drink something I can't stand, I will throw it up. Every time. I get frustrated when people say "just buck up and eat/drink it". I literally can't. There's a difference between that and just refusing to drink them because you don't like the taste.
  19. I wish people would understand that the Protein requirement isn't a suggestion but a prescription and just drink the damn shakes. Sometimes we have to do things we don't like for our own good. I know that's going to piss people off, but my god people sound like children not wanting to eat their spinach.

    Freaking out feeling awful!

@@sleeveitobeaver What's going on?? Do they know?

    Freaking out feeling awful!

You just had major surgery. You're going to feel like poop for a while. You are also recovering, so don't worry too much about weight loss right now (although I know that's hard). Your job right now is drinking as much as you can and getting your Protein in. Also do some walking. That always made me feel better. Hang in there. Of course it's going to get better, you just have to get through the hard part first.

    Not losing anymore

I'm going to say INCREASE Protein and calories. Get 100 grams of protein and up your calories by 100-150. Keep exercising. See how that works. It always did for me.
  23. Are you mostly eating protein? If you're eating complex carbohydrates and sugar those mess with your blood sugar levels and cause cravings and hunger. Also, what about drinking instead of eating? Like drink some water, herbal tea, low calorie flavored water or coffee instead?
