Havent lost in a few weeks

You and I had surgery the same day. From what others have said month 5 and 6 are kind of slow for weight loss. I think our bodies need time to catch up. You have had amazing results so far! Congrats!

    Your choice.

For me the sleeve just made more sense for my body. Nothing was re-routed. I honestly believe my body would not of done well with things being re routed. My problem was portion control so I felt like the sleeve would be a tool to help me eat less. It does that. It is still my tummy just smaller. I like that I can eat what I want just smaller portions. I didnt have as much to lose as some so to me the sleeve just made more sense for me. Less evasive. I am glad I made the choice for the sleeve.

    Anticipation shopping... :)

I am 3 months out and have been enjoying shopping in my own closet. It is so fun wearing clothes that I have not worn for a long time. Many are new because I bought them thinking this will fit when I lose 10 pounds and before the sleeve I never did lose that weight.
  7. Thank you so much for the great feedback! I actually am signed up for a 5k for this Saturday. I have been walking my dog every night and been walking a block and then running a block. Small steps at this point. It is a start. Your journey has been inspirational!
  8. Amazing transformation! I am 3 months out and we both started at 278. I am walking and starting to run a little. I am hoping to get the running love like you! lol
  9. I am curious how much weight you lost before you started running.
  10. Your journey has been very inspirational to me! We both started at the exact same weight. I hope I can be as succussful as you have been. Thank You for sharing!
  11. My Dr. does not recommend Protein drinks either. He says it is better to get used to getting your protein from acutal food. He advises 70% protein 30% vegetable/fruits.
  12. I also am about 8 weeks out. It looks like our stats are pretty close. I only took a week off work. My company only gives out 3 sick days and I didnt want to use up all my vacation. I have an office job so it was ok. I really do not have any food restrictions at this point. I am supposed to try to do the 70% Protein and 30% vegetable for the first year. I have been eating some carbs like crackers and wheat bread occasionally.
  13. I am 7 weeks out and I think every phase so far has had a difficult part. After surgery is hard with the weight gain from the IV's in the hospital and the liquid stage, not to mention the reflux. Not drinking while eating has been difficult for me. Now that I have more tolerance for food sticking with 70% Protein and 30% vegetable has been more difficult. At this point I sometimes mourn food. You go to your favorite restaurant, you order and you can literally only eat 3 bites of it. Sometimes I find I just want to eat my food. Also, eating too fast. Hard to make 3 bites last a half hour! Overall it has been worth it though.

    Congrats! Awesome Accomplishment!
  16. Thank You for sharing. I have avoided the amusement park the last 2 years for that exact reason. I had my surgery last month and look forward to taking my 9 yr old to the amusement park this fall.

    Beating myself up :(

I personally do not think you need to beat yourself up over a pretzle and a bite of cheesecake. Now with your "tool" you only ate one pretzle and a bite of cheesecake instead of a whole piece! Kind of a win! What made us fat was eating big portions not just a bite.
  18. I had to sleep in a lazy boy chair for the first 2 weeks. i had bad reflux and I am a side sleeper so it hurt my stomach-tugging feeling. After the 2 weeks I was fine to sleep in bed on my side. Good luck to you.
  19. I was sleeved on May 29th. The big thing I did pre-op was quit diet coke. It was hard but I knew I couldn't deal with the caffeine headaches and withdrawals along with all the other changes. Once you have the surgery the consequences teach you. If you do not chew your food well enough it sits kind of stuck by your heart and doesn't feel good. You learn to take smaller bites and chew well. I wouldn't beat yourself up over it.
  20. I personally like the May 27-31st Sleevers. Kind of makes it easy to find our thread.
  21. Mondays weigh in: SW 278 CW 250

    Straws

I have been using straws just fine and I am one month out. It helps me get my Water in.
  24. I only took one week off. It was rough! Two weeks would of been enough. I too, ended up with pneumonia after three weeks. It wiped me out! I am 4 weeks out and still week from the bronchial pneumonia.
