  1. I nearly 7 months post op and my hair started to fall out around 3months post, I had a blood test around 6 months and found that I have a B12 deficiency. I had weekly B12 injections from beginning of April and am now on monthly from May for 3 months, I have found that my Hair loss has slowed to nearly nothing, so hair loss could be a sign of a deficiency, so get blood work done. Here's a pic of how much hair I was losing post-212271-14303138020526_thumb.jpg

  2. I am 6 months post op and have been losing hair for about 6 weeks. I have had full blood work and have found that I have B12 deficiency - low. Should be over 25 and mine is 12. So I am on weekly injections for 4 weeks, then an injection every week for 3 months, so will see if my levels improve. Anyhow, here are a couple of pictures of my Hair loss. These photos are from running the brush through my hair twice. [post-212271-14281859373277_thumb.jpgattachment=52590:ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1428185907.314793.jpg]

  3. The chances of you dropping dead tomorrow of some weight related disease are not getting any lower either. Don't let fear control you, I was worried to, but has been the best decision I made in my life. You know the risk, my advice is to find a great surgeon that you trust, follow the plan and you will be fine. Good luck with whatever you decide.

  4. I am scared to death of surgery, so naturally was freaking out the night before and also on the day. As I was paying my admission fee to the staff I looked at my husband and said" I don't want to do this now", he laughed at me, looked me in the eye and said "yes you do". He knew that it had been a two year research journey for me to pick the surgery that was right for me and that this was all I wanted to do and he was right.

Just try and relax, tell the doctors before you go to surgery you need a strong calming drug pre-surgery, they should give you something.

You will not regret it once you are done. It's the best decision I've ever made for myself, I am 10days post op and feel great. Sure, I know I will not be able to eat a full meal from KFC again, but I will be able to have a little bit and enjoy the taste and not over eat, which is how I got here in the first place. You will be able to have a donut again, just not a full one.

A couple of days after surgery should see you feeling pretty much normal, maybe a little sore, but you should be walking on air and pleased that you went through with it.

Don't let the fear overcome you, it's an emotion you can control with your mind, focus on the end result as you prepare for surgery and all the wonderful things that will be ahead if you. You can do this, mind over matter. Looking forward to hearing about your recovery!

  5. I had my surgery on Tuesday 7/10. I don't have any pain on any of the incision sites. I would check that with your doctor. In regards to the pain when eating. Yes I get that, but my NUT says take smaller sips and slower between sipping. I have had custard about 80mls plain yogurt 60mls and about 4 spoonfuls of Soup at each of my lunch and dinner session. I find apple juice gives me a indigestion type pain as well, so just sticking with Water. We just need to take it very slow!

  6. Hi all, had my op at 3pm yesterday. All went well, quite a lot of pain, but once they got it under control felt much better. Got push button pain relief to self administer so that was great. I felt a real heavyness across my chest which they said is normal and has eased off overnight and this morning. Also allowed to have ice, but just take tiny bits at a time otherwise the heavyness across the chest is intensified, but not too bad, just a warning to take it slow and small. Hope everyone is feeling well and good luck today for those getting it done today. Remember no pain no gain!!!

  7. Hi all, I'm getting sleeved on Tuesday 7 October as well. Pre op prep is going well. I'm finding the shakes good and that my hunger is under control.

I have told my mum, but she doesn't want me yo have it done, she is just worried about the surgery really, once she sees the benefit to me she will be glad for me.

I'm starting to get nervous about the surgery, but will be find.

My starting weight was 114kgs which is 250p. My first goal is getting to 100kgs, hopefully by Christmas.
