Hi I don't post much but I read all and I am pjtp today. I am from the UK and we call the Zuchini a "cougette". I cook them quite a lot and my favourite recipe with them in is vegetable lasagne.
I was also wondering if anyone thought the same as me about the band. I seem to get food stuck at various times of the day and my theory is that the band will only take so much food in one day and does not seem to digest/go down in between meals. I think this because sometimes I cannot eat Breakfast but can eat later in the day and sometimes I can eat breakfast, but not eat later in the day.
What does everyone else think?

I have just come back to LBT after a few months off. I am devastated to hear of Green's passing.
The last I heard was that she was doing well and was not terminal. I did not know Green personally but loved her posts. You could tell from them what a wonderful person she was, with a good sense of humour and a sensible, measured outlook. Please give her husband and family my condolences. It has made me weep. I know it is silly, weeping for someone I did not know, but I cannot help it. She was just so nice, and I agree that we will all miss her very much.

You look really great. Well done on your weight loss

Hello I mostly browse, but sometimes contribute. I was banded in June 2007 and also seem to have lost my way. I was thinking (oh the pain!) why don't we strugglers have one last ditch attempt to get off as much weight as we can up to our second bandiversery. I am certaining going to try. I have started by having my first fill for 9 months. If you decide to have a go then Good Luck and keep us posted

Hi
I am posting just to post. The notice at the top suggests that it would be a good idea to post something.
I usually read a lot, but don't post much.

I have an overhanging tummy, but what I find worse is that I have a significant muffin top or spare tyre (tire to the US gals) which I find is much worse than the overhanging tummy. Has anyone had surgery for the spare tyre?

I don't want to support your sons because what they have said is not very nice. However, the received wisdom is that large peopledo not survive surgery, but in actual fact the surgeons who do this kind of surgery are very experienced at operating on big people and the sucess rate is really good. Maybe this is what they are worried about rather than whether you will actually lose weight. You tell them that if they ask the majority of people who have have the band if they would do it again, they would say yes.
If you want to have the band, have the band, and take no notice of what anybody else says.
Good luck with your weight loss journey

Phyl thanks for your information on Proteins turning to sugar. Sorry it has taken me so long to thank you,but I have not been on for a couple of days. One nught I could not get on LBT at all.
-
I spoke to my dietician yesterday. She said that I should eat carbs with my Protein, otherwise the protein turns to sugar. I note from a lot of posts that many of you think that carbs are from hell and you try to avoid them as much as possible.
What do you think of my dietician's advice - do you buy it?. When she talks about carbs, I think she means rice, Pasta and potatoes, not sweet things.

Sorry about your loss Faith. I really hope you can start to get back on track. Your have still lost 44lbs which is not to be sniffed at. You will get there, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I have often wondered how you were getting on as we were banded on the same day. Good Luck

But I love the word plump, it reminds me of rich, ripe and juicy:lol:. Just think how much nicer this is than thin and dry. Having said that I want to be slim, but I do not want to be thin.:tt1:

Does anyone else find that after they have had an "episode" of getting stuck, they feel a little "shaken up"? I do and it lasts for about half an hour.
