  1. When my daughter was in Kinder they called farts purrs as in "has someone purred". I think that is a pretty "nice" term for it. Does anyone else agree?
  2. I am coming on holiday to Australia for three months. I have just had my first fill and was wondering if I needed an unfill or another fill how much would it cost?

Who have you had enough of ??

Is the Canadian eh! a bit like Australiaspeak where they raise the end of their sentences so that they sound like a question instead of a statement?

I realize that I have "cheated" for months, everyday. Little stuff, but today no sugar. I am proud of myself. I know I can lose weight if I stay within range and have good eating habits </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> Well done Dynamomini, You will get there in the end. At the moment sweets and chocolates are all over the place, I even bought my co-workers two large tins of them. However I have not eaten them and I am not tempted. So it is possible to give up processed sugar.

Thx again for your response. I built up to the one hours walking. At first I had to walk a bit and then sit a bit and I gradually got to walking longer and then faster. I do not go really fast, but I walk as fast as I can. I suppose I would call it a power walk. Good luck with your weight loss and your exercise
  6. Hi luvsrocks. Of course you must take the advice of your health professionals, but my surgeon told me to walk for an hour a day for exercise. At first I found it really difficult and hated it. I began to be able to walk faster and faster and go further and further and now if i don't go for my walk i feel something is not quite right.

    June 2007 Bandsters

I think the trick of eating with friends and family is to make your little bit of food last as long as their big platefuls. We need to be able to talk a lot and wave our forks about. In the olden days before band it used to fraustrate me to watch someone eating slowly, mostly because I like my food hot and I could see their food getting cold. When I go to a restaurant I now always eat half of what is on my plate and I try to make it last as long as possible.

I am never going to poop again. It is disgusting!
  11. I am not sure if this is true, but I read somewhere that it takes eight weeks to break a habit. So if sugary things can be avoided for that time it might help people break the habit of eating sweet things. However I know that it is easier said than done. I feel sugar cravings are on a par with alcoholism and we have to give sugar up completely. It is a terrible ordeal but it has to be done. I have given up sweets etc since I was banded on June 21st 2007 and now I am scared to taste any at all. I feel that if I have just one sweet or chocolate I will not be able to stop and I do not want that. I am getting good though. About this time of the year we have very large tins of sweets and choclates being sold very cheaply in the supermarkets. I bought two of these tins for my co-workers and did not have any myself and now my husband has won another tin of sweets and they will go to my co-workers as well. They all eats loads of sweets etc and none of them are overweight. I know I sound like a "goody two shoes" and to be honest I do feel quite pleased with myself, but on the other hand I could fall off the wagon at any time and then I will feel a fool boasting about it. I musn't get too smug. Sorry about this being long
  12. Hi IndioGirl55 I am also convinced that sugar is the root of all evil dietwise. When I started on the weight loss surgery journey I decided that I would cut out all sweets, cakes, cookies and chocolate, because as you say the more you eat, the more you want and in my opinion it increases appetite for other things. I am not fanatical, I still eat fruit which has natural sugar in it and I do not scour labels to find if things have a little bit of sugar in them such as baked beans. I have anout 15 lbs to go before onederland, but really looking forward to getting there. Good luck with getting to your onederland

    June 2007 Bandsters

Hi Janine I had my first real PB yesterday as well. As you say it is really painful. I had a fill on Wednesday. It was 6ml, but I do not know what size my band is. (Tried to find out at my fill but the doc did not understand me) I took liquids for the first two days and on the third I tried eating cottage cheese and banana mashed for lunch. This stuck for a little while and I walked around for a little while and it went. It was a good job because I had to see a customer. In the evening my husband cooked cottage pie (ground beef with mashed potatoes on top if you do not have them in the US) and I ate about two spoons of that and a little caluflower mashed and I got the most horrendus pain in my chest. It was awful and I could not get rid of it. I had to make myself vomit about three times before I got comfortable. I do not know if this happens to anyone else, but I felt quite light headed and strange for the rest of the evening. This morning I do not know what to eat. I have got to try to eat to test whether I need to go back for a defill. I only have five days before I go off on holiday. Thanks for reading to my tale of woe, for those who have not yet lost the will to live - pity party over.

    New Zealand Hates Fat People!

I have been fat for a long time, but I hardly ever use the medical services and I can't be the only fat person who hardly ever has to see the doc, there must be millions of us. I just do not get it! It is a bit scary saying the above, what if I have to start going to the doctor a lot now!

Would they take in anorexics??? They would also cost a lot of money. Anyway come to the UK. We are taking in the whole world including, no especially the criminal fraternity. Easy welfare benefits as well. I am just thinking who would wnat to come here? I would like to go to Australia, but they want one million or more Australia Dollars to let my DH and I in.

    New Zealand Hates Fat People!

We have the National Health Service in the UK and we think we are the National Health Service for the world. We have women from all over the world who come here to have their babies and people who come in with Aids and Tubercolosis. Our government will not turn them away. They say that having a baby is to be treated as an emergency and that to send people back to a country who can't treat Aids is against their Human Rights. We have just heard that hymen repair operations are being given to some women (mostly Muslim) and this at a time when older people cannot have drugs for Alzheimers, people have to lose the sight of one eye before they can have treatment for macular degeneration and people cannot get the medication to prolong their lives when they have cancer. Treatment under the National Health Service is supposed to be free at the point of contact. It does make one sick!!!!!!!!!!!

When my daughter went to nursery school, the children were taught to call a fart a "purr", such as a cat purr

It is not as it a TT is anything serious, just a tiny operation. She should be back already. :):):)
