I hate it when people post just to post.....

Hi Brandy We do have Dennis the Menace here and chicklets, we don't have the programme unfortunately, but it sounds hilarious. You really made me laugh with your description. :smile2:

I am so envious of you american guys, you all seem to have nice teeth. Mine are still small, despite the implants, and I wanted huge great teeth, but they won't fit in my mouth. One thing I will say to you guys who have teeth missing, is that when you have a tooth out the bone underneath the tooth diminishes and if you leave it too long there is nothing to anchor the implant to. I had to have my bone built up so that it would take the implant. However, if it does not show and you can eat OK, why worry?

When I check around it seems that what we in the UK pay in pounds you pay in dollars. Also the bone in my jaw to which the dentists fix the implant is very thin so he had to add some bone which costs extra. With regard to pain, you do not feel the dentist because he injects you with anaesthetic and you take painkillers afterwards. However I had four implants with two teeth bridged making six teeth in all about a year ago, plus some extra bone, and although this did not hurt my face was very swollen and bruised. I looked as if I had gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. But at least I do not have to have false teeth which have to be taken out to be cleaned.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Suzzie, Thanks for the info on the ccs and mls . You hardly eat anything compared to me. Maybe I eat way too much and that is why I am not losing very fast. I think you guys are really good, carefully making sure you get enough protein and nutrients. I find I eat way too many carbohydrates and this is without eating bread. I really used to eat a lot of bread and have tried to avoid it since being banded, as well as cakes, biscuits, chocolate and sweets because I think they are very addictive. If I were advising a new bandster, I would advise them not to even start on the crapola as it is so addictive.

Good idea missy to wait until you are 195 before being sure that you are under 200, I think I will do the same. Congrats Janine on the new grandchild. I have read or heard somewhere that if you change you diet completely, eating different foods, but keeping within your calorie target, that it kickstarts the weight loss. However it is a bit scary because you know you have been able to lose the weight before on your current eating plan. Anybody dare try it?

Hi Missy, sorry I forgot to contratulate you on "onederland", my excuse is that I was just writing a quickie before I went to work. I was really excited, but could not share it at home. I have only been under 200lbs once and it will be interesting to see what I am tomorrow morning. Anyway here's hoping we can keep under. How long do you think we will have to be there before we are sure? Good luck anyway. Ingy

I am 199.6 this morning, but like you missy I wonder if I can stay there, but it was good to see it. I wanted to shout it out this morning, but my DH and DS are asleep and it is not fair to wake them.
  13. You are eating your meal andyou get to the last mouthful (well not a mouthful - maybe last morsel) and you are full and cannot eat it? It is always happening to me.:tongue_smilie::lol:

Who are you after the weight is gone?

This is going to sound really strange, but in a way I miss my fat,and although I still have a long way to go I feel somehow diminished, small and insignificant. However I would not like my fat back. Crazy or what?

I am desperately trying to get under 200lbs. Yesterday morning I was 200.8 lbs and was sure thiat this morning I would be under the 200lbs, but I have gone up to 2001.6lbs. The worst of it is I was really careful not to exceed my calories for the day. It is what we call "sods law". Good luck I will keep my fingers crossed that you get there sometime soon.

I do not save the best to last like you but my DH does. I often think I will hide it from him for a bit of fun, but then I think it would be a bit cruel. However I suppose old habits die hard and although I would love to eat that last morsel I know it will hurt. Originally Posted by Jack That's a GOOD thing!! I have a complaint!

I hope anything I said would not stop anyone posting especially you Janet (Indiogirl). I really like your posts. You are so kind and sensible. There was a email going around at one time with a paragraph which had letters missed from words and incorrect grammar and spelling. It was to show that writing could be understood despite spelling mistakes and missed letters. We all have our likes and dislikes, how boring if we all liked the same

    Lap band & chocolate??

I have a lap band and a chocolate and sweets addiction. I have lost 6.5 stones since June 2007. However a lot of surgeons will not do the lapband on people with a sweet tooth because the band does not stop you eating rubbish, it justs stops you from eating a lot of rubbish. I decided that the best way for me was to cut out sweet things altogether and this is what I have done except for a couple of months whilst I was on holiday in Australia. I found it was not too bad because when you first have the band you you do not feel like eating much anyway so this is a good time to start not eating sweet things. It then gets easier to avoid them. I also cut out all alcohol because that is full of sugar as well. I do, however, eat fruit and I do not scrutinise everything to find out if it has some sugar in it. It does get easier the more you do it. That is my experience anyway. I do understand that everyone if different and they have to do what is best for them I think the lap band is the best thing I have ever done with regard to weight loss, I only wish I had done it a lot sooner. Good luck with your weight loss

*sigh* The good and bad of new clothing.

I have more than a Pannus I seem to have a double pannus. I also have the droopy skin from my bust to my waist as well as from my waist down. I don't have a camel toe thank goodness. I wear the puller inners, but only when I go out in the evening. I have the full body ones which have a hole to go for a pee, I am always a bit scared that I will miss and have an accident. Welcome back Bitteroldhag. When I came on this site your post about getting old was the first one I read, and it really made me laugh because I identified with it.

Hi I am not doing the exercise challenge, but I would like to go back to talking about poop. I do not go every day and it does not worry me one bit. The way I look at it is, if you do not eat a lot you are not going to have as much poop. It is after all a waste product. However I would worry about not going for a long time. I eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and go, perhaps, every other day. I also think that getting stressed about it makes it worse. Anyway I hope you are all able to solve your poop problems because it is horrible when you are all bloated with it.
