You have GOT to be kidding me!!!

We find that officials who decide that we should no longer celebrate our traditions be they pagan, christian or secular, do so because they do not want to upset people who have other religions, but the people who have other religions do not really mind us celebrating. In fact they encourage us to celebrate. For centuries Britain has had religious tolerance, that is one of the great things about living here, and I should think Canada as well. I can well understand about PC (PK in Canada) as my Canadian friend always sends a "Happy Holidays" card at a certain time in the year which shall remain nameless.

    Whats the worst you've heard?

I get all squirmy when people say that I have lost weight because people so approve. However people have only just started to notice that I have lost weight and it makes me wonder why they have not noticed before. I have lost 57 lbs. That is half a cwt. Do you have that measurement? I would like to go to that "you are so pretty but" theme. I think that being fat but not pretty is even worse. Fat and ugly. That is the pits! I'd like you all to know that no one has said that I am so pretty it is a shame about my body LOL:)

Okay. I'm going to try again.

Do you guys have to pay for your fills? I have just found out that under my contract I only get two fills and after that they are £100 (£200 dollars) What a bummer!

Who have you had enough of ??

BJean I am still here. What a Relief! I have more dental treatment the day after tomorrow, still no antibiotics. And yes I will seriously think of PS. I think I will have to have a thigh lift because I think all the weight I have lost has gone from there. I have a ripple effect LOL. Thanks for your kind words

Okay. I'm going to try again.

I am glad that you are going to seek professional advice because that is what I was going to suggest. There may be some liquid medication you can take instead Good Luck, I hope you get sorted out.

Was anyone banded in December of '06?

green You have done even better than I originally thought. Losing that much weight in such a short time despite your issues with band tolerance, and only a small fill, is magnificent.Your exercise regime is excellent, I don't do half as much. I did laugh about the Peeping Tom, but I bet it was not so funny for you at the time. Thank you for all the advice and links. I am mulling over them, looking to see if some of the items are available to people in the UK. I must say that I have not set any goals for myself yet, mostly because I have done every diet under the sun and they have all failed. Now I know that banding can actually work I will think of some. What is next for you dietwise? Will you change anything about your eating habits to maintain your weight? I don't mind you writing a book because you have interesting things to say and things I want to hear. I can get carried away sometimes as well Thanks again
  9. Well Done IndioGirl It is great that there is such an improvement in your walking. It must be doing you quite a lot of good. My surgeon told me to walk for an hour a day. At first I did not get very far and now I can walk twice as fast as when I began. I am now at the point where is I do not go for a walk I miss it, and I never thought that would happen. Keep up with the good work. I know you can do it.

Hi Insubordination. I would love to meet you as well. I will let you know later the exact dates. That will be really great. I just love Sydney. Can't wait to get to Oz.

The English on this mainly US site is far superior to that I see on the U K sites, however we must take into account that we all make typing errors.

Who have you had enough of ??

Green. Yes I think I will live for a little while yet. I am having dental implants at the moment and am nearing the end of the treatment. I have paid half of the fee up front so it would be very inconvenient to shuffle off this mortal coil now. When I had the implants into my gum, the dentist found that my bone had shrunk and he had to transfer some bone from another part of my gum so he could fix then in. Anyway I looked like I had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. My face was all bruised, my lips were swollen and my eyes closed up. I looked like a cipmunk if you know what one of those is. I am sure I was not as bad as you are now, but I do have some idea of the pain, so you have my sympathies. I feel that I need my eyelids lifting because if I raise my eyebrows I can see better, but then I get to thinking that if I had my upper eyes done I would also want the bags under my eyes done, and then if I had that done, the bottom half of my face would need doing; so I am thinking of a full face lift. However I would not have that done until I have lost all my weight, then I would want a tummy tuck and everybody seems to have a breast lift as well when they have that. And what about bingo wings on my arms? After all that, I think would it be worth it as I am 63 in a few days time?

You have done extremely well then to have lost all that weight without "normal person" fills and being unable to tolerate the band. It must have been a disadvantage which makes your quick loss all the more remarkable. Are you going to keep your band and carry on with the medication? Did you do a much exercise? Sorry about all the questions, but you have done so well and I just wondered how you have done it.

Any Junk Food Junkies care go join me?

Well I was not here for your challenge, but I did it just the same. Whenever I have lost weight before it is because I cut out sweets, so I decided that when I had my band | would not eat them or junk food. I dare not have any junk foods or sweets now because I know, once I start I will not be able to stop. It is so hard though

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!

We have stuff like that in the UK. One City wanted Christmas to be called Winterval. One scholl is wanting to ban Halloween because it is offensive to Devout Christians. What next?

    June 2007 Bandsters

Thanks Insubordination (Love the name and Love Australia and all who live on her) I was quite disappointed that the dietician would not let me have a fill because although I have been able to lose weight OK I wanted to lose a lot more because I have a trip to Oz coming up in Novemver. I wanted to lose as much as possible as I wanted to be comfortable on the aircraft as it is a twenty three hour journey. Although I think I will be OK now and be able to fasten the seat belt, we have bitten the bullet and booked to go Business Class, but it is humungously more expensive. The dietician says that she will not recommend me for a fill until I stop losing weight. Well I have lost this month, but I am going to insist on a fill because if I do not get one this month it will be too late for November, then I am in Oz for over 2 months so that will only leave me from February to June to get myself sorted as we only have one years follow up treatment. Sorry about the long post, when I get in full flow I cannot stop

    Whats the worst you've heard?

Yes, I now see what you mean about the brick shithouse comment, but at the time I was quite mortified. When Jerry Hall acted in a play here in London, she was showed doing a nude scene and she was very bony across her front and I did not think that looked very nice. We also had a programme where young women competed for a modelling contract. The public voted for the girl who was a size 12 (US size16 I think) and she did look lovely, but the organisers said she was too fat and chose a smaller woman. I did not watch the programme but read about it in the press. You know, I think very thin people don't look very good, but I would never comment on their thiness, so why do they think they have the right to comment on our fatness

    June 2007 Bandsters

Hi. I am a June Bandster. I was banded on June 21st 2007. I have lost 55lbs and have not yet had a fill. My dietician says that I do not need one until I stop losing weight. I can eat almost anything, have no restriction and am using will power. I have not tried bread yet, but can eat toast, wraps and pitas. I have a sweet tooth, but decided before surgery that I would not eat any sweets, chocolate, cookies, cakes or ice cream. I have managed to do this because I am so scared that if I once try them I will be on the slippery slope, and will not be able to resist them or stop eating them. I have been reading all your posts, it has taken me about a month, but I wanted to read them before I joined you. I don't know why, but I just did. Good Luck to everyone with your weight loss.
  24. Well Anon. Did you enjoy your holiday in Oz. I am going for 2 months in 29.11.07. I have been before and I am really looking forward to it.
