1.
Since I know I'm not eating enough, when I do eat, it's always Protein. Deli meat and/or cheese. What a boring diet. Oh, I recently threw in some shrimp. My PA did not want me doing the protein drinks after my 4 weeks' visit and I do get 64 ounces of Water. At month three, they do a test to check on any Vitamin deficiencies and stuff, so I have some time for my body to adjust. I think the surgery shocked it. :)

I know how you feel about the deli meat. Have you tried tuna? I even threw in a couple jalapeño slices with the fat free mayo. My tummy liked it ;)

  2.
I know I'm not eating enough, I'm just not hungry. Oh well, I may have to force myself to eat. The good news is I found out that Decaf iced tea is something my body loves to drink. I drink about 26 oz of it a day currently (and it counts as Water for me). I'm also looking into a gym to get my exercise in.

Hey PJ! I talked to my NUT today. She said once our bodies get that basal or rock bottom amount of calories needed to function THEN our bodies will let the pounds go. I guess my body thinks I'm trying to kill it so it's in survival mode. My basal calorie intake was 1,300 before I lost any weight. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is a marathon if weight loss, not a sprint. BTW I have trouble getting my fluids in too. If I get fluids in then protien is low that day. If I eat better then my Fluid intake is low. Go figure!

  3. Hi all! I am new to this techie stuff. I was sleeved on May 14. Presurgery I did the dieting thing and started at 235lbs. I weighed 217lbs on my day of surgery. I have been stuck at 197lbs for 3 weeks! I haven't been exercising consistently and wonder if that's why I remain so stuck. I'm up to about 800-900 cal a day and 50-60grs of Protein. I will say that even though I haven't lost any weight lately, I have lost inches. So that and your stories you share here are what's keeping me optimistic. Any advice is welcome. Keep up the good work everyone! Rock that sleeve!

  4.
Ok So, I've heard all about the stupid stalls. I am 9 1/2 weeks out and have lost 36 lbs as of this morning but I have not lost an ounce in three weeks. Help!!! I am so discouraged at this point that I don't even know if I am coming or going. I try to remember that not only did I have surgery but I have bought a house, and I am working super long hours but I wonder how long before I start losing again. I am living on around 450 calories per day and I always thought that if you consumed less calories than you burn the weight will come off. I know that just breathing I am burning more than the 450 calories that I am taking in. Its very frustrating.

Yep. I'm in your boat. I believe it's time to call the nutritionist. I know our bodies will hold onto weight to protect itself thinking we are trying to kill it on super low calorie intake. But it makes sense that if you burn more than you consume it should come off no matter what. So, I'm calling an expert. Will let you know what the word is....

  5. Hi everyone, here is my weight: I was 129.1kg and now 115.1kg. Down 14kgs so far. Really happy about that. I've had a really bad 24 hours and have found it hard to keep anything down. My diet consist of two meals of mashed veg and meat, custard and puree fruit, also wheet bixs for breakfast. Now on 1 multivitamin a day. Also finding coffee awful! Anyone else having problems?

It's interesting how our tastes change after surgery. I was a true coffee junkie before surgery. Now I can't even stand the smell. Same goes for any Pasta.

  6. Hello all. I haven't been here in a while. I hope that everyone is doing well. I am progressing nicely. 21 lbs down and now the scale hasn't moved in a week. I can pretty much eat everything I've tried. No bread, Pasta, or carbs. I eat everything else. I couldn't do shrimp. My sleeve didn't like that much just sat in my chest. After about 4 or 5 bites. I'm full. I get about two ounces of food in. 3 meals a day, 2 Snacks. Averaging 550 - 700 calories daily and 60 - 75 grams of Protein. So far so good.

Well done cherry tree. I've lost 18 pounds (8kgs) and my scales haven't moved in nearly 2 weeks! I'm so over it....it's very deflating. I can pretty much eat anything, as long as it's soft enough. I do get hungry, but find I get full after about half a cup of food.

Fingers crossed the scales start moving soon. They simply have to!

Oh I am having the same issue. In five weeks since surgery. So frustrating.

  7. Does anyone have pain on there right side??

I get like a burning pain when ever I move on that side

I was sleeve may 19[/quote

I have that too. Went to see my surgeon about it. He thinks it may be my gallbladder having a fit adjusting to the sudden rapid weight loss. I'm taking Actigall twice a day to help support my gallbladder through these first six months

  8. Whew! I thought it was only me! I was sleeved on May 20th. I weighs 276 on my day of surgery and have been at 266 since Thursday (almost a week). I know, I know-I need to hide that damn scale and stop weighing myself. I just keep thinking...4 oz Protein Drink for Breakfast, another 4 oz for snack, 4 oz of nonfat Greek yogurt for lunch, and 4 oz of a 'tuna melt' without the bread for dinner....how am I not losing?! I used to eat over 2000 calories a day and was stable. I know everyone goes through this, it just feels defeating.

I also had a hernia repair. For the first 10 days I had a lot of pain right in the center of my chest...this has died down thank god. I can usually get 3-4 tiny bites in and then it starts to hurt. I'm sure I'm eating too fast, but gosh does that hurt! So then I stop, because it's so uncomfortable.

This might also be weird but right next to my belly button, right below my one incision I have a lot of pain-like a pulled muscle. It hurts most when I have jeans on because my jeans sit there. It even hurts when I bend down sometimes. It's not constant, but it's annoying.

I'm getting about 50 oz of Water and 50 oz of Protein a day. I'm working on it lol. Best of luck to everyone!

Wow. Our paths are similar! Sleeved on 5/14/14. HW: 235. SW: 217. Today 197. Been 197-198 for two weeks! Tried to go back to work last week and made it through my shift. Drove home in tears from pain at main incision site. Surgeon said there's lots of deep sutures there. It will feel better to wear something for support like an abdominal binder or Spanx. Lol. I'm up to 64 oz water and 50-70 grams protein = about 800 cal a day and yet I'm still at a stall. Any advice?

  10. Hi, this is my first time on this app. I really am glad to find support. I am 7weeks out yesterday. I have lost 35 lbs. I lost that in the first couple of weeks. I haven't lost but a pound since. Has anyone els experienced this lag?

Hi. I am 5 weeks out tomorrow and have lost 19 pounds. Been at a stand still for two weeks. Well, I lost 3 pounds. I am up to about 800 cal/day and 70 grams of Protein. Have been excersizing this week minimum of 30 minutes. Why is this happening? How can I get off the plateau train??
