I work with dogs that love to jump on me, so I'm taking an entire 6 weeks off.

Ooooh I'd be scared! I'm terrified of sugar. i imagine a tiny amount of dark chocolate with a protein meal might be safe?

A couple questions: WLS Friendly Restaurants and Ice

The hospital gave me ice chips right after surgery, and I eat sugar free popsicles all the time. Just be sure they melt completely so you don't swallow hard chunks -

The Journey Begins!

If you cant keep protein shakes down, is it possible you're drinking too fast? I drink a 1oz shot glass every 15 minutes or so and even that feels too fast sometimes. Also make sure your shake is fewer than 6 grams of sugar per serving. Other ways you can drink your protein is to blend dannon light n fit GREEK yogurt with water. Or, GNC makes a fruity protein drink called IsoPure. I'm in no way an expert but when I read you cant keep anything down, I felt sad for you. I really hope you can find a solution. -
Pre- op GP in 4-days an counting down !

I'd say stock up on tylenol, small containers of a variety of protein shakes, (you never know what you'll actually be able to tolerate) lots of high protein soups to blend, and water bottles. Don't forget to pack a comb in your overnight case.... I did... and I was wheeled out looking like medusa. -
Sorry, I posted in the wrong thread

I'm not sure where to start or how this works, so I'll jump in... I had my gastric bypass 5 days ago. Stayed in hospital for 3 full days. No complications or drain. I'm allergic to codeine so I'm doing this with tylenol. Still on full liquids. I'm being super careful and just doing blended soups and watery protein shakes. Sometimes i can take 3 or 4 TBSP- usually just 2. I'm looking forward to getting these staples out. Walking is extremely painful but the therapeutic pillow helps some. I'm a little jealous of my family when they get "real" food, but there's no way I'm cheating on this- I waited way too long to get my surgery approved. Anyway, probably the most boring intro ever. I don't really have anything exciting to report.
