Glad to hear from you all! I'm also struggling with my Water intake. Plain water hurts my stomach for some reason. Is that still happening to anyone else?
Everyone sounds like they are doing wonderfully!!!
Yep, still an issue for me sometimes. I use lots of the flavor packets. My surgeon said whatever I need to do to get my water in. And it's still a struggle sometimes!!

Today is my five month surgiversary (funny, my phone has that as a learned word in my dictionary now!). I'm happy with my new body but bummed that I feel like I'm on a little bit of a roller coaster. But I expected that. Stats:
HW: 293
SW: 267
CW: 212
I'm surprised that with that much weight loss my clothing sizes, especially jeans, haven't changed a lot. I was in a 24, albeit snug haha, and am just now in an 18. But that means I'm close to misses sizes so I'm excited about that!! No regrets though, ever!!

Hi all, Oct 21st here. I still have some gas pain, sits right under my diaphragm. I've tried walking, gas strips, bouncing on my bed lol and even having my husband beat on my back. Still there. Other than that I'm just super tired. Only way I can really sleep is if I take my pain meds, I think because I'm too worked up about hurting my still tender incisions. Next week will be a better week, I'm just going to continue doing what I need everyone's journey is different, I need to remind myself of that a lot. I'll get there and I already know this will all be worth it!!

You have to stay another night? Were you told 2 nights in advance?
Yep. Two nights. I asked about only one night and it was kinda poo-pood. We were told from maybe half way through the six month process that it would be a two night stay.

Finally got sleeved yesterday!! Not an unbearable amount of pain, just tender and the has pressure. Got to have broth and sugar free Jello just now. Yummy
-
Can't wait to be in my own bed tomorrow night, not sleeping at an incline lol. IV comes in a bit so I can shower and put regular clothes on. Leaving here tomorrow afternoon at like 2-230ish. And I'll probably pass out as soon as I get there!
-
I was sleeved yesterday morning!! So glad to be on the other side now. Problem is I can't sleep consistent so I've been napping.off and on since but that's okay. And my word, so many pokes lol. Took three attempts at the IV and have had three labs taken. It's all worth it j n the end ♡♡

Okay, I've sent messages to everyone who has asked. If anyone else would like to join, or if I inadvertently missed you, just let me know!
I would like to join as well! Thanks for setting it up.

Kathy812, I am not sure. My best guess is I am grieving the lifestyle I am about to give up. It sounds sick since the lifestyle I am giving up is unhealthy, painful and exhausting, but, there it is. I tend to process hard emotions before I take the plunge into anything new that is difficult. I am hoping my current sadness will make the post-op "What the heck was I thinking?" bit either non-existent or less severe.
I'm right there with you!! I've been heavy since high school (32 now) and it's all I've ever known. It's all most people have ever known me as. Well, they will get used to the new me, and I will too!!
-
I've been counting down since I found out, on August 29th. Now I am down to three weeks!! The last four have gone by fast, hope the next three do as well!!

One more thing down, this past Thursday I had my scope done, piece of cake! Got there at 7, went back at 830 and was headed home around 10ish. (Worst part was the IV in the back of my hand!) Now, 29 days until surgery!!
-
My liquid diet (two weeks long!! starting the 7th) is seriously liquid. broth, sugar free Jello, Tomato Soup, shakes. But thank goodness I can have one Protein Bar pet day, yogurt and oatmeal. But no solids. Wahh!! Lol. They said flavored oatmeal is okay so I'll go with varieties. But still, blah lol

I'm so ready for this :-) How long is everyone staying in the hospital. My surgeon usually doesn't do an overnight. I think it's strange. What do you all think?
My surgeon says two nights (surgery Tues the 21st, home Thurs the 23rd). I asked if I could leave the next day and he just said "well, I don't know that yet. Depends on how you do." So we will see!! Good luck!!

I got my approval last Friday morning and got scheduled for October 21st. I have so many emotions, happy, nervous, excited, all of it. Now that I have a date it is getting more and more real. I have to do a two week liquid diet, that's going to be tough.

Gendy - How many times did you have to see a dietician ?
Angie - Congrats on your Oct 14th Date !!!
Mariel - Yes !!!! I do wonder how we take our prescription medications as well !
jmsgal - Oh that’s so soon !!! Are you getting nervous?
lindalue- Same boat as you. Will find out in a couple of weeks. Have you been approved?
Firewife - what kind of classes did you have to take? I wonder if everyone had to do an edoscopy. I didn’t .. hmmm
Amy - Congrats on Oct 7th. That’s so close !!!
Hogman - I think the sleeve will be great. Sorry you’e going through all the problems with insurance. And the psych failed because you’re scared? Heck no! We would all fail ! I’m petrified .. well excited and petrified at the same time. If that make sense.
LiveLaughLove - I feel like you’re such a buddy ! i’m 39, been through 3 failed IVF attempts because of miscarriages. This is my last option. How does the pre op stuff work when you do it out of the country? Do you video chat with the doctors ? Man.. I really relate to you !
Jessiquoi - I hope they don’t postpone you !! If it does happen. Don’t let it set you back ! you strong, you’re doing the right thing, and your time will happen ! Stay positive !!!!!!
Cherokee - What part of Northern AZ? I’m a desert rat. Grew up in Phoenix. Folks live in Taylor! I love Northern AZ !! Just hang in there for a buddy ! I think lots of us are going to get the middle of October
MzSpy - My Buddy !!!! I’m in The Woodlands !! How awesome is that !! Where in Houston are you ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I’m doing pretty good right now. I have been hitting the gym hard! Starting doing some cross fit techniques. I have a feeling I’m going to turn into a gym junkie! I tried Zumba today but that was an epic fail. My coordination level was not good ! Ended up leaving mid class and working out with some friends. I weigh in for the last time on 9/10 and then everything is submitted to insurance. This is getting real so fast !! Hugs everyone !
I had to do some basic info, nutrition, and exercise classes on top of my visits with my regular doctor. I liked it all though, makes me feel very prepared

Oh, I'm in DSM, Iowa

I'm Oct 21st! I have my endoscopy Sept 18th, final class & labs on Oct 9th and start my liquid diet on Oct 7th. That is what I'm more worried about but I think it'll be okay. It'll be worth it in the end!

Thank you everyone! My husband and I were so excited, we were like kids at Christmas! Now that I have a date I see light at the end of my tunnel. I started the process in Jan 2013 but after a couple months we realized it was going to be too expensive for our family. Fast forward a year, new job w/better insurance and here we are. The wait has made me better prepared I think though! Can't wait to make my "Sleeved!" post
-
Aaahhh! So, I finally did my last labs (that my insurance required) on Tuesday and my surgeon's office called yesterday morning to tell me they had my approval! I can't believe it went so quickly. Great way to start my family's vacation I still have a few things to do before surgery (scope, one more class and a couple more labs) but it'll be here before you know it. My date is October 21st. (I have BC/BS Blue Choice of Iowa)

My husband knows and my two sons (ages 13 & 10), my mom, my ex-husband (kids dad), best friend and two co-workers. I will not be telling anyone in my husband's family except maybe one of his brothers. I just don't feel like dealing with any static. They'll know something is up because I work out several times a week, which they know, and I am losing at an extremely slow rate. They won't believe it's "just happening" lol. I think his dad & step-mom will be supportive but I'm not 100% sure about everyone else. Suppose time will tell!
