  1. I have discovered rice crackers (approved as I slowly move on to soft foods) , however for lunch 4 of those tiny crackers are more than enough to fill me up, but what I have found is that I am addicted to licking the seasoning off the rest of them lol I am sure it's probably too much salt ..but yeah I am having hardly any food so fuck it for the moment I don't care Anyway that all for today .. Almost 3 weeks post surgery I only have a few more days before I have to go back to work boooo but feeling good at the moment

    1week post surgery

Hey I'm sorry I don't have the band so I am not sure how that feels all I know is that the gas is very common and the best thing is to walk, I recommend you talk to your nurse or surgen ASAP so they can help you
  7. I have lost 15lbs in the 10 days since surgery and I am now at my lightest I have been in over 12 years so ya for me However I am super nauseous all the time I have a meeting with the nurse tomorrow but if anyone has any tips on what helps stop this that would be great

    Scared with questions

I was scared of this procedure for years and now I am 10 days after surgery and it's really hard the first six months will be hard but after that everything in moderation should be fine, and the associated health benefits from weight loss are huge I recommend you talk at length with your GP or some one who has been thru it so you can make an informed choice that's right for you

    gallbladder surgery tomorrow

Good luck I had my gallbladder out 4 weeks ago it's not to bad and it's great no more pain from those awful stones
  10. Yesterday (day 4) I had an awful day I felt uncomfortable and gassy all day and to make things worse I got my period less than 10 days after my last one !! I threw up last night after dinner I had a soft boiled egg which I puréed but I think I ate too much or to fast , anyway I threw up I had to get some de gas tablets because I was so uncomfortable. I have had an upset stomach for the last 5 days so I am taking fibre again hopefully that helps This morning I felt dizzy and not so great I need to drink more Fluid , also I am slowly having a Protein shake for Breakfast and I must say that has made me a whole lot better so that's a good start. I did some dishes and a little bit of tidying up and it's okay so I do feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak Also I have lost 8.8lbs in 5 days

    Feeling full 24/7 Can't Eat :(

Oh poor you I am only 5 days post op but my tummy makes the same sound I have been told it's lack of fibre try a fibre supplement , well done on your weight loss though .. Have you tried a Protein supplement (not a shake but like a powder ) you can sprinkle over the food you do eat or a tablet form so at least you are getting that ? Sorry if this advice isn't helpful but good luck and I hope things improve for you

I'm on day 5 as well and yesterday was my hell day I threw up I had bad gas I cried all day I got my period ( 8 days after my last one !!!!) I don't know what to say to make you feel better apart from hang in there and know you are not going thru this alone
  13. It's Monday morning day 3 I am still in hospital I hope to go home today but who knows... Today is the first day I have felt okay I will say the gas was ridiculously sore every time I tried to drink and the evil nurse kept stabbing me with these anti blood clot injections !! The dietician has been in to see me this morning and advised what I need to do and eat etc etc for the next month Thank you for your support
  14. Today is day 4 and I feel okay , apart from feeling a bit uncomfortable with the extra gas in my system , does any one have any tips on how to help this gas pass? Oh and also experiencing a bit of diarrhoea but this could be because of the drugs the hospital pumped into me ??? The purée diet is blah but it's okay 1/3 weetbix with milk for Breakfast & my husband has made a huge Soup for lunch and dinner last night for dinner I had some mashed up mince and gravy like less than a dessert spoon full it's okay it's what I expected . It's nice to be able to sit at home instead of hospital just watching TV and not doing anything Anyways anyone have any great tips for gas or anything else please let me know

    Its starting to get real!

To be honest the first 2 days after surgery was tough I wanted to sleep all the time the nurses were forcing me to drink a lot of water (which hurt) I was not in to much pain thankfully but yesterday was a breakthrough I felt so much better I came home from hospital and had a very small amount of puréed food today is the same lots of people on here have told me to walk as much as I can to get rid of the extra gas build up you get after surgery so I will do that also I find warm liquid like teas or soup go down much easier than cold drinks I am not hungry at all which is good also rest as much as you can after surgery even in 4 days I have learnt this . Good luck

    packing my bag

I was in hospital for 3 days so I took my own comfy sleepwear extra underwear and defiantly toiletries and if you have a product called gas x where you are take it !!! We don't have it here and I could really use some (4 days after surgery) good luck !!

People don't understand , my husband has been great and is really supportive but I think I have talked his ear off about the topic haha at work the girls are great about it but they really don't understand I mean they don't even need to loose 3lbs and they complain ... I know that everyone has their own battles so I try not to judge but I feel like screaming for f****s sake you have no idea what's it's like so get over yourself !!! I enjoy reading others posts and stories on here makes me realise I am not alone in what I am going thru .. So all that being said please feel free to chat or pm me or whatever if you want to talk

  24. i have 7 days till my surgery ( april 4th) and I have now finished week 5 of my 6 week Optifast pre surgery diet.. & i hate it hahaha 6 weeks of optifast is ridiculous, i have lost 10kgs in 5 weeks though so that is great! I will confess i have cheated twice both times with a bag of potato chips.. I was reading thru other people who have done the same.. as far as i can tell it wont do any harm for surgery but still i feel bad about it ohh well .. I have done so well so far I am not going to let this set me back , my starting weight was 135kgs in June 2013 I am now 106kgs I am very excited about the next step moving foward. I also had to have my gall blader removed 2 weeks ago ( by the same surgen) and i would not reccomend this while being on optifast beacuse all you want is something comferting to eat .. even toast.. I guess why i cheated was i had my last weigh in on Monday and then i think i was rewarding myself for a job well done.. and I also knew that after surgery i cant eat anything .. Anyways people if you cheat like I did then just pick yourself up and move on and try not to do it again ! Also just a side note i personally lasted 4 weeks before i cheated and i find it amusing that some people cant even last 14 days I would have loved to only be on optifast for 14 days not 42 !
  25. I'm sorry I probably can't help you to become motivated I can only tell you my experience:) I had my first appointment in June 2013 and only having my surgery next week April 2014 & it has been a hard slog to drop 60 lbs required I would say the sooner you start the easier it will become and if you have a bad week or few days the damage won't be the same, I struggled over Christmas and didn't loose weight for a few weeks so the more time you have the better Anyways good luck and I hope it works out for you
