What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Jessiegirl30 replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol I know exactly what you mean I am 7 months down and I still am struggling to see myself as not as big -
It's funny if you had told me a year ago that I would be 177lbs I would have said hell yes and been really happy with that, but now I am more determined than ever to get to my goal weight , so tired of being the "fat" one :-) I don't know what I am anymore that is a bit disconcerting it's like I have been the fat one my whole life now what am I? Anyway I had my eye in this dress it was so beautful and so expensive , so I wated and wated and wated and last weekend I finally brought it when it was on sale :-) I am now worried that my weight loss will mean I won't get to wear this dress for long lol

Jessiegirl30 replied to Lateese92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ohh Hun the only thing you need is rest and more rest .... I took 3 weeks off after and I was only just coming right after that time ... Good luck :-) -
Totally a normal phase , to eat a bit of junk and your favourite things before you start the liquid diet remember while you are doing this for your health etc etc after surgery is really hard & even 6 months out I am still struggling with food and there are days I just wish I could eat a big meal :-) so yeah don't feel too bad about a little splurge before the diet starts

I am just over 6 months post op and the last 3 weeks I have not lost any weight and the funny thing is this coincides with when I started to up my exercise, so I am wondering if any one else out there experienced the same thing at this point? And if you did what helped to get the weight loss back in track ?

Jessiegirl30 replied to auntiemel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep sorry to say it is very normal the first week I lost 15lbs then nothing for 3 weeks!! It was my body catching up and adjusting to all the changes I am 6 months out and I still have stalls like last week I stayed the same it will get there don't feel to bad and remember your body is going thru a massive change -
How Long will this go on?!?
Jessiegirl30 replied to DaddyMarie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am sorry this is happening to you , it is lack of protein , you should talk to your GP or surgeon about it if you haven't already , I am 6 months out and I have been lucky I have not lost any hair I was super scared about that because I have very thin hair ,anyway I hope it stops for you soon -
I was mad this morning, I can't find anything I like to wear and I only got like 3 hours sleep last night I am grumpy so I had a left over bacon and cheese English muffin my husband made for Breakfast... Well I had half of a half and now I feel gross and like a piggy so full lol ( it was like 125 calories ) LOL ohh well also I only lost 1lb this week which annoys me because I worked hard last week... But now I am not too mad I am getting there and that's all that counts Happy Monday everyone

Favorite recipes puréed for post op
Jessiegirl30 replied to Luvin_Life125's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am glad you have found recipes you like I hated the puréed stage and it was very hard for me so good luck to you -
I was on puréed food for 3 weeks before I was allowed even a soft egg it was awful truly though it gets easier though it just takes time I am almost 6 months out and I still get frustrated at what I can't eat and the volume is so small it so tykes makes me cry ... But you will get there
-
Firstly yep it's normal as in the first week I lost 14lbs then it took 3 weeks before I lost any more that was for my body to catch up ..& I came on here and asked the same questions as you in regards to a bowl movement as long as you are not constipated you will be okay because at this stage you are barely eating (drinking) enough to keep you going so if your not constipated don't fret ... If you are constipated trying adding fibre supplements to your diet like the benefibre powder which can be added to food & also there is a tea called alpine tea which has natural laxative properties which might help

There was 6 months between the doctors recommending me for surgery and my first official visit with my surgeon in that time I gained about 20lbs probably because I knew it was my last chance to be "bad" lol but then the doctor set goals so I couldn't eat all that rubbish .... But anyway good luck & remember the more you loose before surgery the better the results will be after it , I only wish I had been told that before my surgery

I'm sorry you are going thru this & I am sorry I can not offer any helpful advice .. I just hope kings turn out okay for you

I am sick today , it's a head cold etc I am going to see my GP about it this afternoon, so I thought while I have the time I will write an update and let anyone who cares know how things are going for me at this point. Since surgery I have lost 49 pounds and in total since I started my weight loss journey (June 2013) I have lost 113 pounds, the thing that I have learnt is that I didn't put all the extra weight on in a few weeks so why do we all think we can loose it in a few weeks??? I hear people say that constantly ohh I worked really hard this week but I didn't loose any weight ... Well duh it's because it took 15 years for you to gain that extra 100pounds or whatever it doesn't just fall off because you have 3 good weeks of work ... I know this now and I think we would all be better off if we all knew it and accepted it. Anyway... People seem to be noticing how much weight I have lost at work and stuff I am getting some really nice feedback and genuine interest in my success which is very nice The last week or so I have noticed that I am being able to slowly eat a little bit more, which is great it's very frustrating only being able to have 1 bite of food then being full, though I am fully aware this is part of the process , still if I have anything that is to high in sugar like chocolate I tend to crash and feel quite sick until it passes ( usually about 30-40mins) so I am trying to avoid to much sugar, also refined carbohydrates like potato chips!! Dear lord they were my weakness before surgery and I find I can eat quite a lot of the now with out even realising it so I am really trying to make sure I make better choices ... Like fruit and yoghurts etc etc My exersice I have slowly been increasing I am at 4 times a week for 30 mins and I am happy with that for now , I am going to try and increase the time slowly ... I still hate it to be completely honest I hate exersicing I enjoy the way it makes me feel afterm I finish and I enjoy the results on the scale and on my health but oh Lordy dear I hate doing it ! Hmm anyway that's about it from me I feel blah so I'm going to go rest before I go to the doctor

I have now lost 50kgs !! Since June 2013 50kgs is a Big deal to anyone who uses the metric system it's like the same deal Americans get when they loose 100lbs FYI my surgery was in April this year I am so happy and it's hard to believe I used to weigh so much more and yes i still have 25kgs (55lbs) to go till I get to my goal weight food ahh food I hate it and love it at the same time, I haven't been sick for a long time now so I feel I know my limitations I still get quite upset when I have 2 mouthfuls of something and am full but hey this is my life for the time being so not much I can do about it . Anyway happy Monday

18 weeks post op ... Struggling a lot
Jessiegirl30 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My weight loss has been stalled for about 3 weeks now and I am starting to get annoyed especially because I have tried everything I have made sure I am eating right and I have upped my exersice etc etc ... What can I do io don't know I feel as if I can just get past this hump things will go alright again ... It was my 31st birthday last weeks that was odd the first time I can ever remember not having a giant birthday feast and eating whatever I wanted lol but I still had a great day Umm yeah so if you have any helpful tips to get me over this hump please tell me -
At just under 16 weeks post op I am happy with how things are going for the most part but I constantly find myself looking at other people and trying to guess how much they weight lol don't worry it's all in my head I'm not doing it out loud.. I guess the reason is, it can be very hard to know how much some one weighs by looking at them, I have had work mates and friends tell me how much they weigh and I was shocked to find out I weigh less than them, I am very short so ANY extra weight I carry makes me look "fat" so right now I weigh 191 lbs and I can be stamina next to someone who weighs 210 lbs and they look smaller than me because of my ridiculously short height lol Anyway my point is it's probably not very healthy for me to keep doing this so I will try and stop and also it just proves that everyone is made differently and the everyone carrots Thierry weight differently so yeah Peace out :-)
-
Lol sorry my surgeon told me the same thing but it is un realistic ... I think the point is to get you to slow down and eat slowly but the amount you can eat is so small usually 2 mouthfuls is all you can manage anyway

Comparing my weight to others :)
Jessiegirl30 replied to Jessiegirl30's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow sorry about the selling mistakes damn auto correct lol -
So I'm going along pretty much okay I know what I can and can't eat and how much ... I am getting bored with my choices though and I miss bread big time .. I also miss being able to have a meal out but I keep telling myself i am only 14 weeks out so things will get better. :-) I haven't lost any weight for 2 weeks now but that's okay I have been pretty steady for a while so a few bumps here and there are okay I am glad I'm not going thru this in summer though cause that would mean it was christmas and Christmas is my favourite time of the year and while I know this year at Christmas time I will be 9 months post op and won't be able to eat all the foods I did last year I should at least be able to enjoy a bit more than the 50g I manage now
