    Pre Diet

I was on optifast, for 6 week before surgery :-)
  2. Sorry I can't remember my dosage but I was on it for the first 3 months after surgery then the indigestion started to fade , so hang in there it does get better :-)

    Newbie with Surgery Date 2/17

Hi Mike , good luck :-) I'm sorry I don't know your Dr , but in answer to your second question the first 3 months after surgery I totally regretted it , I couldn't eat (. Puree and mashed stuff only) I struggled to get thru my water and I was constipated , I cried a lot and ... However I am almost 10 months out now and yes you can hardly eat anything and you still have to work hard , I know that I wouldn't have been able to loose the weight I have if I hadn't had the surgery , so I guess I am saying yes there will absolutely be times you regret the surgery, but if you know right now in your heart that you have done everything you could and surgery is your last option then try to think it will all be worth it in the end :-)

    Belching like a Truck Driver

Is it something you are eating or drinking? I am 9 months out and I get gas if eat to much or drink to much but not just sitting down doing nothing , have you asked your GP about it ?

    Bariatric advantage

Can't say I had that brand, I had to drink opti fast for 6 weeks before my op so 10 days is nothing :-) just think in the grand scheme of life what is 10 days even if it is disgusting

SCARS - getting rid of them

Sorry I don't care one bit about my scars ... It's part of the process , you can't have major surgery on your stomach and expect smooth clear skin
  7. I gained 4lbs ( about) over Christmas ..lol I have lost it now ( and some) proof that even with the sleeve you have to be super careful, I wasn't over eating per say it was more all the chocolate I consumed ... As it's summer here it is so hot but for the first time in a long time I am not finding it quite as hot as other years :-) bonus , also I have started to wear skirts & dresses to work which is great and I am getting more complements as well , so lode to my goal only another 50lbs or so to go .. I have a goal as my birthday which is in August so we will see
  8. For the first time ever I can not over indulge at Christmas ( without being sick) and for the first time in a long long time calories are not on my mind ... I can have a little bit over everything and not over eat , if I over eat I throw up it's that's simple .. And over eating for me is is 2/3 of a sass age instead of 1/2 . My thoughts go out to anyone out there who is pre surgery on their post op diet and won't be able to enjoy the food this year ... Look at it like this , this is the only time in your life you will need to miss Christmas food , once in your whole life. Not such a big deal rite :-) Anyways I am a day ahead of most of you because I am from New Zealand so it's Christmas Eve here and I have finally finished work for the holidays I get 11 days off to spend with family and my husband and enjoy a little break before back for another year . I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year :-)

    One week buyers remorse

I am 8 months down and I can eat those things now :-) , it's totally a head game and it took me a good 3 months to get over that , even now I still miss being able to have a big meal or eat out at a restaurant but it does get better i promise :-) good luck

    Feeling so good! Too good?

I felt good after surgery as well , apart from being tired , I had no pain whatsoever , so I guess everyone recovers differently so be happy and take it easy :-)?

    Puréed stage

If it's your first meal on puree then you probably won't get more than 1 teaspoon down somtake it easy and follow the advice your doctor gave you :-)

    Week 2 & 20 Down

Take it easy seriously !! I took 3 weeks off work and didn't do anything more than rest , your body needs to heal so sleep and rest is the best thing it can do, also well done so far!
  13. Honetsly for me it was only two things , gas x tablets ( I found these I needed these for the first 2 weeks after surgery ) & taking my own pj's or comfy pants to the hospital ... There is nothing really that I found I needed to much that wasn't easy to get good luck !
  14. So my normal unit of weight is kilos , I only use lbs on here because the metric tcker doesn't work, so my next sentence is in kgs :-) I passed out of the 80's into the 70's today !!! I am super happy because the lowest I have gotten to previous was 80.2 now I am 78.8 :-) :-) I feel great today
  15. Wow i am sorry you have had all this negative crap, you seem to have a great attitude though so keep it up and remember they are hating on you because they are jealous of your success and have such rubbish lives they can't even bring themselves to be happy for you
  16. Jessiegirl30

    Super happy today

Thanks :-) in all honesty it's really hard , % wise we are pretty similar I was much heavier than you at the start of my journey :-) I have times where I stay the same weight for 3 weeks at a time and then I have a great week and loose 4lbs !! The only thing I know for sure is that our body's do not do what we want them to & we have to be patience as hard as that is
  17. I had my gall bladder removed 3 weeks before my gastric sleeve , I was okay :-) I am sure you will be fine the doctors know what they are doing follow their advice& you will be ok :-)
  18. Went to my husbands work christmas party last night it was awesome , I am glad I am 8 months post op because I was able to have a little bit of everything I wanted , still only a very small meal but it was great to have a mouthful or two of everything. ( and no I don't drink) , one of his co workers who was drunk I might add (lol) came up to me at the end if the night and was like hey you have a sexy shape now , now you a sexy girl lol .. Well thanks drunk man :-) not to toot my own horn too much but I happen to agree with you last night I think I was looking particularly good. Went to the ballet on Friday night they were doing a christmas carol , loved it it was great , I love christmas so much to do and places to go , also it's the start of summer here so yahh for that !! Merry Christmas !

    Constipation

I'm sorry I had the same problem it's because your not eating, the only advice I was given was to drink as much water as possibility , also the enemas won't work because there is nothing in there sorry you might need to talk to your surge nor nurse about it if it is really bad :-(

    Rough Start But Doing Well

Hey glad to see your doing better :-) and the lack of energy is normal because your body has had major surgery and is recovering , also you are not eating enough yet , it took me a good six weeks before I started to get my energy level back :-)

    Gum!

That's not really a lot of calories in the scheme of a day is it :-) also think , it's better than chips or cookies :-D
  22. I recognise the head but not the body ... My darling niece (who is 7) and hasn't seen me for for a few months said that to her mum last night when they came to pick me up :-) best compliment I have ever gotten ! In other news I gained 2 pounds ... But ah well such is life I'm not upset :-) I love subway btw I can eat a 3 inch sub in one sitting lol as long as it's ham not steak or the coated chicken :-) Ohh and random I brought some new tops and some of them are a 16!!! Woohoo anyway peace out

    Day before surgery!

Okay the milk of magnesia was so awful I actually didn't take mine of the second day ... I know i was naughty but seriously it was so nasty .. Drink it down in one shot as fast as possible and good luck :-)
  24. Jessiegirl30

6 days out and ate food

Drink water as much as you can handle & I was allowed puréed foods on day 3 so don't stress everyone's doctors are different I had mashed potato .. But not much protein in that though
  25. The thing is Jodi you know what it's like to be "thin" for a lot of us that's not the case for me I have spent the totally of my 31 years being "fat" I have never been normal or thin so after being the fat one for 31 years and now I am more an average size it takes a lot to adjust to ... The last time I weighed what I do now was 15 years ago when I was a fat teenager ...
