  1. Iam also considering revision from the lapband to the sleeve. I had my lapband since 2008. I haven't lost very much weight and am constantly wanting to eat, even though I can't keep much down. My eating times are between 12pm and 9pm because this is when my band loosens up to allow food to pass through. Who did your revision surgery and what are the major differences you notice between the band and the sleeve?

  2. I'm one of the bandsters from 2008. I did very well the first couple of years. By year 3, I got a fill that was too tight and everything went downhill from there. I ended up gaining most- not all of my weight back. This past Wednesday - 2/4/15 I had revision surgery - band removed and did the gastric sleeve. The surgeon said my band had slightly slipped & I had a hernia which he removed. I really don't want to fail again.

  3. I was too tight for a few months and would frequently bring up my Breakfast and lunch. But dinner was never an issue. I knew this wasn't healthy so I got a defill of .5 cc. Then I could eat anything I wanted and never brought it back up but started experiencing really really bad heartburn. Gained 15 pounds. Since then I've gotten .3 put back in and have worked really hard to lose the weight. However, my heartburn is so bad when I drink Water. It will burn for hours after just 2 glasses of water. Even food doesn't give me heartburn like water does. Any guesses as to why.

  4. I am in your situation. I was banded in 2008 at 213 pounds and have not seen the results I was expecting. I find that if the band is tight enough to eat small portions (at dinner) then I can't eat healthy fruits or vegetables because it is too painful and I'll just PB. If my band is lose enough to eat fruits and veggies comfortably, then my portions are very large and it takes big meals to feel full, as well as terrible heartburn. I too am considering the sleeve, but am concerned that I won't lose any weight because of other stories I read from band to sleevers. Apparently, from what I've read, if you have had the band, then the sleeve doesn't work as well for you. I am currently 180 pounds and run marathons. I follow a high Protein diet, but my goal is to weigh 150. I cannot get there with my band. I would love to be your buddy on this journey. I too am still contemplating revision surgery.

  5. I was banded in 2008 and my weight was 215. I am now 180. I only lost 35 lbs. my goal is 145. I run marathons and train/exercise 5 days a week, but I crave sweets all day. I am always fighting this temptation and then sometimes binge. These types of foods slide through the band no problem. I have been thinking about a revision surgery to the sleeve. Would I still have these overwhelming cravings and can you "binge" with the sleeve?
