Do you feel weird telling people exactly how many pounds you've lost?
I am afraid to tell people, I am afraid of the Math.

Thursday Fun--Does your sleeve have a nickname?
I call mine Justin, cause it is "bringing skinny back" LOL!

Getting depressed because of my slow loss!
I think you just hit a plateau. Your body has been losing so much that your body is fitting extra hard to hold on to it. I know it sounds crazy but allow your self a bite or two of a "treat" it reminds your body that it will still get some fats and that it is OK to let go of the fat it is holding on to. I didn't believe my husband when he told me to do that but when I finally gave in it worked. Just remember 2 bites are good, 20 bites are bad, LOL!

no time for me
I have a super busy life also with two extremely busy kids. My daughter is a competitive dancer with 12 hours a week of dance and my son plays baseball with 2 games a week and 2 practices a week (about 3 hours each). I have found that I can walk the parking lot while my daughter dances and I also walk around the baseball field while my son plays. I can see the game and keep walking, win win! Also get your step-child with the behavior issues to walk with you. Making kids feel needed and important will do wonders for a lot of behavior issues, just tell the child that you really need their help to exercise and keep you motivated and I think it will solve two problems. Good Luck and just keep walking! I have also bought a treadmill and made a rule at my house that whoever is on the treadmill gets to control the TV, no more sitting on the couch to watch.

Menstrual Cycle and Weight Loss
My periods have always been regular but since my surgery I have had one of them late by more than a week and the next one was a week early. They have all been less than they were before my surgery. I know with rapid weight lose your hormones go all over the place and that will make your cycle all over the place.

exercising
I was able to get back into the gym and really start working at after 6 weeks post-op but I think each doctor has his own rules.

Which fruits to have?
I can't really tell you what fruit to have but I ate some watermelon last night with my dinner (about 8-10 melon balls) and afterwards I was getting too hot and a little shaky. I think it was to much sugar in it, so I would warn you about eating to much of really sweet fruits. I have had strawberries, bananas and blueberries with no issues. Also I have been eating lots of apple sauce so I think apples would be fine.

Weight at a stand still
I keep hearing when you aren't losing weight you are normally losing inches, (I even heard it from my doctor).

Constantly tired ...normal?
I'm really not sure, I would start with adding another 5g for a few days and see how that does and after 3-5 days I would add 5 more, but that is just the way I do things.

Hottub 3 weeks after surgery?
Once the incision has healed you should be OK, but I went in a hot tub when I was about 4 weeks post-op and it made me a lot more lite headed than normal so be very careful, may be stay in less then normal and get out and see how you feel. Good Luck!
-
Constantly tired ...normal?
Being tired all the time is normally a sign that you aren't getting enough Protein. Try to eat food that are higher in protein or may be add an extra Protein shake. Good Luck!

burning feet
Circulation issues can be caused by hormones. And rapid weight loss causes hormones to go crazy. But I would double check with the doctor next time you talk to him/her. I had a tingling in my feet that went off and on for about 2 weeks.

spiralling downward... please read
Yeah sounds like you made the wrong choices then but you need to remember "Today is a new day" There is nothing you can do to change yesterday so all you can do is learn from it and make better choices tomorrow. We all have slip ups, we live in the real world where things aren't perfect and we can't expect ourselves to be prefect. Just move on and try not to do it again! Good Luck jennynoblemiller!

I OVER-ATE FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT. ::SIGH:: ::CRY::
It is still less than you use to eat, right? Keep moving forward, everybody trips and falls sometime. You have to define yourself as how you get up and get back to it. I at two bites of chocolate last week and this week I have lost 7 pounds. Shrug it off and move forward, you can't do anything about the past anyways!

I'm hot...no, I'm cold..no...
With rapid weight loss you are going to have extreme hormone changes. I have had the hot and cold thing but I have also had tingling in my feet and hands. Everybody handles it different but in the end you will be fine.

What are the best vitamins?
I use the chewable vitamins from Trader Joe's and I haven't had any problems.

I made it ya'll!
I am green with jealousy! Congrats!

Has anyone eating food before they were supposed to? Or drink before or after eating? I have. Now, I am getting nervous
I was told from my surgeon that drinking while eating will expand the stomach and it is possible to expand it back to where I was and make the surgery pointless. As for sticking to the diet, your body isn't ready to break down red meats, you should avoid red meats for at least 3 months and even then stay away from them most of the time.

diet pepsi lovers?
I was a Dr. Pepper drinker so I get what you guys are saying, the idea of NEVER again having one makes me want one bad, but my way of doing things hadn't really worked before. I am craving soda more now than ever but I am sure it is just that I can't ever have it again. But I did like that I went through the withdrawal during post-op.

My first "out to eat" experience - Two weeks post op
My husband started out the same way. But we have had a few talks about how much I need his support and he has improved. Now I am teasing my husband, who is also over weight, that if he doesn't start losing weight with me I'll get my surgeon to cut him too. I think my husband didn't take me serious at first because he had seen me start so many diets and give up that he kind of assumed I would give up on this too! Good luck and keep it up. Talking to people always helps.

Forcing the Scale to Move
When I had my surgery, on March 11th, I weighed 271. I dropped to 231 in 4 weeks, then I hit a stall. I had been stuck at 231 until Tuesday of this week. Then I decided to up the time I spent at the gym. And Wednesday the scale said 230, I got excited and hit the gym again. Thursday morning it said 229, and Friday it was down to 228 and then this morning it went to 227. I am so excited to break through that stall, I'm getting ready to hit the gym again. My first goal (of many) is to be under 200 pounds before we go to VEGAS in July. My next goal is to be 165 before New Years, then I won't be obese anymore. If I can make that I will start working towards 140 which is my ideal weight. I feel like the little engine that could and I am ready!

Heart Burn while exercising?
I am just over 6 weeks since my surgery. I went to the gym today, and yesterday, and both days I have had heartburn after walking on the treadmill. I am not walking too fast (about 2.5) and I don't know if it is a consequence or if exercising is causing my heartburn. Does anybody have any ideas about this?

I need advice....please
I know it sounds gross but a warm Water enema will do it and do you no harm. Try to drink more water, it helps to keep your stool softer and moving better.

3 week stall? is this a real thing?
The best way I have heard to over come any stall is to exercise more. Good Luck and keep it up.
