  1. Good evening everyone. Hope all is well here. I had some trouble with my password, I have been trying to log on for weeks now. Even the whole password reset thing did not work, but for some reason today it worked.

This is great, 2 years later all the familiar names are still here. I love it.

  2. Hello my friends,

Just thought I would stop in and say hi and start the December thread. All is well here. As far as band related stuff, I must admit that maintaining my goal weight is more difficult than loosing. I actually did gain a couple of pounds back after hitting my goal and its really work to keep it off.

My wife is doing well with her band, she has already lost 50 lbs.

As usual, nothing interesting is going on. I wish I had something to talk about.

  3. (see Ira - you don't have anything to worry about. You are a Good man.... Hugs!)

    Thank You!

I wish I had something interesting to contribute here. Things are pretty routine right now, except for the wife going under the knife in 3 weeks. All the tests and insurance hoops have been exercised.

Next weekend I will post my before and after pictures. Of course I will give my cheer-leading squad here first peak before I put it on the main page.

  4. Hi Jennifer, I am in NJ also!

I can relate to what you are saying. For me, I just set a date and said that's it, when I wake up the diet starts, the gym starts. And that's what I did. I lost 20 lbs before the surgery and have stayed commited.

The payoff is not only the results that I had, but because I am actually burning calories, I can have a slice of pizza, Gen Tso's chicken, Burrito Supreme, Hot Pastrami, chicken Vindaloo, or a Gyro every once in while.

    YOU CAN DO IT!

  5. Do you really need the internist to write a letter if you can get the orthopedic guy to write it for you? I know all insurance companies have different requirements. Are you sure yours requires it?

I agree, find a new internal medicine doc. You may want to ask your surgeon's office for a referral, they know who is good and will give you the support you need after the band.

  6. is DW going to Ballantyne

Do I really need to answer that?

His new policy is that anyone over 40 gets a stress test now. It's an extra hoop to jump through but I think it's worth it.

I think she is aiming for about 90 lbs.

  7. DW had the consult yesterday, and the surgery date is set for June 6th. Lots of excitement!

She has to get a stress test and decided to go the the place that I went to where I wound up having a problem with (after the fact) insurance acceptance that we were still paying off. Anyway, I guess they take our insurance now and she somehow talked them into writing off our $600 debt. Go figure.

I took her out for her last huge meal at our favorite Indian restaurant tonight.

  8. Does anyone have some expertise with the probate procedures in Florida?

I am trying to find out if the probate rules are still as horrific as they were years ago and if a revocable living trust is the only way to pass along assets without them being lost to lawyers, will administrators and the court system.

    Thanks in advance

  9. I wasn't expecting this:

My weight loss has really slowed down over the past 2 months, and I noticed that I have been able and wanting to eat more and more.

So I asked for a fill yesterday and guess what... There was nothing in the band! Of course the first thing I thought of was that there was a leak, but it turns out that it is not uncommon for osmosis to occur or for the saline to evaporate primarily with a first fill. GO FIGURE!

I have good restriction now, but I thought this was worth sharing in case I wasn't the only one who didn't know this could happen.
