  1. Hi all......

I had Dr Eric Acheason at Southwest Bariatrics..... At the Round rock office..... All there are very nice and helpful...... I know they are there if I need help..... And I will reach out to them if I need anything..... So far I have been very lucky... No nausea, no problems swallowing, I am getting plenty of fluids and able to drink the Protein shakes.....

I had my surgery at St David's..... I know there is a support group there.... I have not gone yet, but I am sure I will in the future...... I would love to find an exercise group for post sleeve patients.

  2. Hi all.....

Had my sleeve yesterday..... I am feeling great.... Been up walking around... Able to go to the bathroom...... Pain is minimal, thanks to the pain medicine.... No nausea... And had my X-Ray no leaks or obstructions... And am having a popcicle.... Yay.... Never thought a popcicle would be so good....

Can't wait to get out of here....

    Linda

  3. Hi there...

I'm Linda and I am from Cedar Park.... Eric Achinson from Southwest Bariatrics. Is my surgeon...... I am having my surgery at St David's on Tuesday April...... Yep.... 3 days away......

Been doing good on the pre-op diet.... But getting very nervous.... But I think that is very normal...... Looking forward to having this done...... Would love to meet with you guys...... But obviously Tuesday is out for me too.....

  4. I work for an Insurance company.... Every insurance company has criteria for every procedure including WLS..... Ask your insurance company for a copy of the criteria they use for Sleeve Gastrectomy..... Then you will be able to see what you need to do...... For example mine required a 6 month medicinally supervised diet OR a letter from my Primary Care Doctor stating that I have tried and failed other weight loss plans..... My PCP was more than willing to write the letter, with all of the dates and info I gave her and I was approved... Good Luck

  5. I have a cruise planned just 4 weeks out. I was sleeved on 2/24 and my cruise is 3/25. I cruise all the time, but I asked my doctor about it and explained I already had it planned. He said it would be fine. By 4 weeks the incisions will be closed and I will be on solid foods. He even said I could have a drink or two. Now this all remains to be seen. But I think it will be fine.

Sounds great!! Keep us posted on your trip.

  6. It is usually up to the Anesthesiaologist..... If your your lungs sound wheezy or you have trouble taking a deep breath.... They want your lungs as healthy as possible for surgery.....

Also it depends is you have a fever..... Surgeons usually will not operate if you have had a fever within 24 hrs.... And you don't want them too.... This will lower your risk of infection....

    Good Luck
