  1. Love Dunkin Donuts decaf medium roast! ☕️
  2. If it's someone that I like and could benefit from surgery then I'll share. Otherwise I don't plan on telling.

    Ladies only

Btw, I also had the diarrhea thing going on several times a day in the beginning. That finally stopped and now I sometimes go a day without going. Especially if I'm not careful to keep my water up.

    Ladies only

Mine have been very different since surgery. I had surgery September 15th and I've had 3 periods since then. Usually I start every 27-29 days for 5 days, *very* heavy the first two days. The time between periods is now getting shorter, 19 days between the last one and I only spotted for 2-3 days. Very weird.
  5. Hope the link works. Unbelievable! http://www.12newsnow.com/story/27414511/man-sues-after-losing-legs-after-surgery#.VGt5cCZA5y8.mailto

    Anyone read this story....

I get that it isn't related to the surgery just thought it was incredibly sad. I can't even begin to imagine this mans pain, anger, etc. I've had many surgeries myself and I am so thankful to have come through them all ok. ✌️

    Bubble baths

I was told that I could take a bath 2 weeks after surgery.
  8. My doctor allows us to drink right up until we start eating and then wait one hour afterwards. During full liquids I did not follow that rule. Once I started the puréed diet I did.
  9. I dry heaved for a few days and then it stopped. The first night home I spit up a little blood when I was dry heaving. So nasty! Feel better!!

    Panera

Their low fat vegetable soup is really good too and they will give you mostly broth if you ask.
  11. Upping my protein helped with my carb cravings. Good luck to you!

    What was worse part

Hmm, nothing I had to do was that bad but my least favorites were my 3 nutrition visits and the psych evaluation. I hated the nutrition visits cause I have a short attention span and I found them so boring. I hated the psych evaluation mostly for the same reason and the 500 questions that I had to answer (which were basically the same few questions worded differently asked over and over). Like I said though, nothing was horrible, just time consuming. GL!
  13. I'm 3 weeks out today and I cannot eat over 2 ounces. If I don't measure and go over that I pay. I'm on soft foods btw. Definitely takes some getting used to! Good luck!

    Phone app not very friendly

I agree. I wish I could see everyone's signatures on the mobile version. Seems like you could before the update. Maybe you can and I just don't know what I'm doing. I don't know but it bugs me.
  15. I had my surgery on a Monday and I was back to normal (taking kids to school, after school activities, etc) by the next Monday. I probably could have done it a little sooner but I had my mom and husband here taking care of everything (was so nice!). GL!
  16. I had my surgery September 15th and my husband is having his October 6th.
  17. You'll have both kinds of gas. Trust me! Even if not it can't hurt to try taking some to see if it eases your pain. GL!

    Time of the month

Tylenol extra strength for me too. I get bad cramps too (I have endometriosis) and it gave me some relief (until it wore off then I'd take 2 more).

    Food mistakes

Been there. It's miserable! Takes some getting used to for sure! GL!
  20. Me either! I had to stay between 700-900 calories and no more than 50 carbs a day. I was allowed Protein shakes, sf Jello, sf popsicles, broth & crystal light. It was the hardest thing I've ever done!

    compression socks

Compression socks are used to keep the blood moving in your legs so that you don't get blood clots. No, I did not have a drain. Depends on the surgeon. I asked ahead of time so that I would be prepared. I was so thankful that my doctor doesn't use them.

    compression socks

Oh, they also gave me one shot of heparin before I was discharged.

    compression socks

Mine did not. Once I was up and walking they said I didn't need them anymore. Just make sure you keep walking once you get home. GL!
