  1. Do you measure & weigh your food? That helps me a lot. GL!

    What will I need?

I highly recommend bringing a small fan. The pain (or maybe the anti nausea) medication they give you after will make you hot. Other than that the only things I used were extra pillows, phone charger, hair brush, face wash & chap stick. Oh and toothbrush (although they did provide that as well). Good luck!
  3. Yeah, his opinion is that high protein is what's killing America. He wants us to eat plenty of beans, whole grain oats, nuts, fruits & veggies. I have incorporated more of what he wants into my diet but I do love my Greek yogurt, meat & cheese (which he highly frowns upon). I just do my best and do what works for me.
  4. I get all my fiber from food. I do eat 1 Quest bar a day because it has 17 (I think) grams of fiber. I also eat a carb balanced whole wheat tortilla some days. It has 10 grams of fiber and it's great with meat & cheese rolled up in it or refried beans with cheese and a little hot sauce or scrambled eggs with cheese and hot sauce. Lots of possibilities! ????
  5. You're welcome! I'd say on average I get 80-120 grams of protein a day. Some days I get a little more, some days a little less. My surgeon is vegan so he doesn't go for the whole high protein thing. He wants us to focus more on getting enough fiber. I do what works for me though. Best wishes to you!
  6. My doctor says no but my NUT says yes. She said I can count 65% of my Premier Protein shake as water.

    Restless Legs and No Sleep

I get out of bed and do some calf raises when I have RLS and it goes away after that.
  8. Thanks wannaBthinsoon & Kindle! Mine do not hurt and were not noticeable when I was heavier. Probably under too much fat to stick out. I'll keep an eye on it and mention it to my doctor next time I go in. Which will be soon cause my 1 year is coming up fast! Thanks again and good luck Kindle to getting your insurance to cover the procedure!

    Dizzy

I have dizzy spells when my sodium intake is low.
  10. I have hashimoto's and I am over 100lbs down with 40-50 more to go. I too had a very hard time losing anything prior to surgery. I see my endocrinologist every 3-6 months and he is so pleased with my loss. Best wishes to you!!
  11. Just curious, since I too have spider veins and some veins that are raised now, is surgery necessary? Is the surgery just to try and make it look better or are they going to cause health issues?

    Hospital Pre-op appointment

Pretty sure I had to give a urine sample also. Not sure about taking your last blood draw results. They will probably want to take it again though.

    Hospital Pre-op appointment

Register and insurance info. Had blood work done. Nurse talked to me about where to go on the day of and what to expect and she gave me the antiseptic soap that I had to start washing with a few days before surgery. It was pretty easy. GL!

    Peanut butter

I hated peanut butter prior to surgery but now I love it! I try not to eat it often tho since it's so high in calories Helps to have pb2 around.

    Bra sizes!

Not really sure I was wearing the correct size prior to surgery. I wore a 48DD. I was measured at Victoria's Secret the other day and I'm now a 38DDD. So, still have plenty but I definitely need a lift when the time is right!

    Dizzy/light-headed

I get dizzy when I stand up if my sodium is low. Luckily my endocrinologist warned me that it might happen. When it happens I either go eat something with a little salt or drink some powerade zero.

    Restless Leg Syndrome

Like Miss Mac I also have it worse if I take something like Tylenol pm. What helps me if I am suffering from RLS is to get up and do a few sets of calf raises. It stops it every time.
  18. Their shipping can take a while so make sure you order well in advance.

    Protein Bars?

Yes I agree, try the combat crunch bars. My husband calls it his candy bar. Peanut butter cup is our fave with cookie dough coming in second. I also like quest bars but my husband hates them all except for the s'mores one. I think quest is a little bit cleaner protein bar but combat beats it on taste.

    Do you use PB2?

I mix it up and eat it with a banana. Also mixed it up in the blender with a frozen banana and a little unsweetened almond milk. Tasted like ice cream. It was so very good!

    What Are Your Must-Have Foods?

Greek yogurt-I like to hoard this. I have a problem haha Beef jerky Different kinds of cheese-love cheese! Carb balance tortillas Deli meat Nuts-I make a trail mix with all kinds and throw some dark chocolate morsels in for a little bit of sweet Quest bars & chips Combat Crunch Protein bars Crystal light Tuna Fresh veggies-especially brussel sprouts Fresh fruits oatmeal There's probably a few more foods but that's the basics.
  22. I've watched the procedure on YouTube. Does not look pleasant! I'm pretty sure the balloon can only stay in for 6 months before it has to be removed.
