I was told to wait one year before having alcohol because of dehydration and ulcers to the new stomach. Anyone else have to wait that long?

I would attend a St. Charles group. I go the support group meetings at DePaul each month and will continue. But I would also attend a St. Charles meeting too.

Tink short for Tinkerbell. Small but watch out if you make her mad!

I have enjoyed reading all of these comments! I think I am heading in the right direction. I am someone who needs to track her food. I use an app called fatsecret.

I use the Bariatric Advantage caramel chewy bites and really like them. Almost like a treat three times a day. I have heard the new lemon ones are really good and taste like a Starburst. I tried the chocolate Peanut Butter ones and didn't care for them. They had a funny smell.

I drop off at Goodwill and then shop at Goodwill. I go down sizes so fast I am not spending much on new clothes. Plus I get the tax deduction.

I had my surgery on May 27 and happily adding new foods to my diet. I have it drilled into me at least 60 grams of Proteins a day. But what about carbs and fat? I there a maximum for this? I am careful to track my food and I just don't know when it goes too high for the day. for example yesterday I had 24.08 fat, 30.32 carbs, 91.9 Protein and 716 calories. Calories are between 600-700 daily. I kind of get freaked out on the carbs and fat. Is there some ratio to follow?

I don't spend $75 a month and I think I take relatively expensive Vitamins. My physician prefers Bariatric Advantage so that is what I went with. B1 for 90 days and a Multi-Vitamin with Iron three times a day and chewable calcium citrate three times a day. The last two are for life. Also, Prilosec OTC for six months. Those are the most expensive!!!!!!!!!

Just keep counting the days down! I was on the pre-surgery liquid diet for two weeks also. I just wanted to chew something! if I got really hungry I just went to bed! LOL!!!!!!!!!! You will make it. It seems like it lasts forever but will be over before you know it. Before you know it you will be having that first scrambled egg when you are on soft food after surgery. It will be the best thing you ever tasted! You will do just great.

My surgery was on Tuesday May 27 and I was back to work on Monday June 2. I have a very sit at the desk sedentary job so I was fine. If I had to be on my feet or really active that would have been too soon.

I had no coffee restrictions except to only have 8 ounces a day. I only do the Chike Coffee Protein Shakes to the caffeine and Protein in one.

I have type 2 diabetes. I was off of my Metformin immediately after the surgery. Also, off all (3) of my blood pressure medicines. I am 6 weeks out.

I agree with the measuring. Even if I am in a stall I find I still loose inches.

I just joint a gym yesterday too. I have never walked into one before and never walked around the block but I made the first step. I too felt very comforable and they were really nice people. I am five weeks and 1 day post op and got my clearance Friday to do upper and lower body cardio. I have to take baby steps. This was quite a shock for this body!

My doctor recommended Bariatric Advantage as well. I use them because I am just too nervous to try anything else. If you order from their website you should be able to get a discount if your surgeon recommends them. Mine is 15%. Also, go to www.insurenutrition.com and complete their insurance section. They will work with your insurance company and doctor to get their brand covered.

My surgery was 5/27. I had virtually no pain. My surgery was on Tuesday and back to work on Monday. Your attitude is great!

I am on phase two until June 27. I was on the liquid diet for two weeks prior to surgery and now soft foods. I thought my first scrambled egg was the best thing I ever had! What I crave most is chewing something. I get excited when it is time to take my calcium citrate chews! Seriously! As far as tastes/smells.....my husband was frying bacon the other morning and I thought the smell was going to make me sick. Before I could have eaten a half a pound. How crazy is that!!
