I had my surgery about 36 hours ago. The surgeon ok'd me for discharge tonight. While I feel like a million bucks compared to yesterday, right now the best I can say is that I'm hanging in there. But oh so glad to be home.
The bariatric team at Eason Hospital was great, thank goodness.

It would be fun if we all checked back here in a year to report on our progress toward these nsvs.

That probably sounded terrible . I should add that I'm 5'1" and my grown sons are built like fullbacks, but I've weighed more than them for years.

These are all great answers/ideas. Another thing I look forward to is no longer being the fattest member of my family. ( my adult kids live with us.)

Live not far from some beautiful state parks and the Appalachian Trail. So I hope to do some longer hikes and I'd love to try kayaking.

I attended because it was required. I thought it was a waste of time. The only meeting that I got anything from was when the surgeon showed up and chatted with us.

This is my sixth day on preop, and I'm so hungry. All the time. What I wouldn't give for a big honkin' corn muffin about now.

Is anybody still active on this thread? I have 3 1/2 days to go. The preop diet is wearing me down a bit. Headache, tired, and HUNGRY. Even with so few days to go, it feels like it will never get here.

I'm June 25th also. I can't wait. I start the pre-OP diet on the 17th. I'm also in PA.

I love indian food, and the hotter the better. So I asked my surgeon whether I would be able to eat it, and he said, "people in India have this surgery and they eat indian food." Ha ha.
