  1. Look into getting a Yonana machine
  2. Good job!! All of my pants are falling off too, even the new ones that are a size smaller. Keep those shorts so you can compare at your goal weight
  3. Ditto at three weeks out. And I swear my old tummy is grumbling and wants food in it. Lol
  4. All the Protein drinks I have are too sweet. Are there any that aren't or is there something I can do? The thickness is starting to get to me too except for the nectar juices but those are getting old. They all are honestly but I need to keep drinking them ::barf::. Has anyone tried the grape Nectar flavor?
  5. Fortunately I have not had any problems and bounce back from surgeries fairly quickly. Had both of us had complications it would have been very difficult. All in all this experience didn't go as we planned but I can't wait until the 25th when I can make real meals for us and our 3 kids and eat at the dinner table using real plates and utensils rather than eating out of one oz medicine cups. I'm so glad you have your fiance there by your side. He sounds like a keeper! :-)
  6. My best friend is my husband. I've built up a wall to having local friendships in the last year. Some may think that sad but really it's a lot easier than dealing with the ups and downs of friendships. After 43 yrs I have finally learned the difference between acquaintances and friends. I have a lifelong bff from childhood that I cherish and always will, but we live 1800 miles apart.
  7. Sometimes I question it too. Was in mourning for foods I couldn't eat during pre op diet, now still in mourning over foods I can't eat now. But I have to remember the big picture of why we decided to do this in the first place- our health/life What really bothers me is how some people are allowed to eat foods our nut/dr doesn't allow. I said screw it yesterday and made cream of chicken broth and drank two oz for lunch. If I one more bite if canned smoked chicken I would puke and everything else we have the same and I refused to eat them. So I figured the cream of chicken soup is better than nothing. And honestly, it has better nutrients than the canned veggies. Those are pointless to eat from what I can tell. I want to eat fresh veggies and real meat. It just takes time though. And I'm thinking the Protein drinks are what's making me itch all over. :/ I'm not buying anymore though and we'll drink what we have. I spent $200 on those things. Confession- I ate about 8 noodles of mac and cheese and a cup or two of skim milk yesterday. Couldn't get enough of the milk. SOOOOOO good! I was doing really well with walking this last week until Friday. I walked a mile on Monday, two miles on Tuesday, one mile on wednesday and a mile on Thursday (all in this Texas heat and lost lbs doing so) but nothing on Friday, and maybe a half mile yesterday and was pooped. My abs have been sore simple from going fishing and not even reeling anything in but I will hold off on doing that for a couple of weeks I guess. I think I will ride a couple of miles on our stationary bike today. I hope my abs don't yell at me more afterwards. I'm glad w4 are in this together. Even if you didn't have any suggestions is nice to know I'm not the only one feeling this way. We know what we need to do and we're doing it, it just takes time. Is ok to fudge up a little too just as long as we get back on track and not keep doing the fudging ups. And it's nice to be able to come on here be able to complain, whine, mourn, and vent to get it out of our system.
  8. Don't you love it when you're the "bad guy" for speaking the truth? Smh at them. I had a bff for 7 yrs that I backed away from 2 yrs ago because of her exaggerations, lying, gossiping and attention seeking. Other people see that too but of course I'm the bad guy for calling her out. Anyway, she got sleeved a year ago. When I see people from the church I used to go to (stopped going a year ago) that she goes to too people always bring up how she looks now. I hate it. That means people are still associating me with her and probably thinking we did this because she did. I just say that I haven't seen her in a very long time and only on fb and change the subject. I wish she was completely out of my life and for people to stop associating me with her.
  9. I'm itching on my belly where the incisions aren't. What's up with that??
  10. Jessica O- I totally understand what you're saying though and I'm still going by our dr/nut instructions/menu. As far as our dr goes he has not once examined me, before, right after or at post op, he argued with me when I asked him about a lump above one of my my incisions, he couldn't be bothered to come in at my post op appt to answer my two questions (the nut went back and forth to ask him), he didn't tell me how my surgery went, didn't give me pain meds that worked even though I told him beforehand what did and didn't work on me and made me suffer, even the nurses were po'd at him, and he makes me feel like I'm a bother, and just a number and a paycheck. I called him on a Saturday night to let him know about my husband who was going downhill after his sleeve, told him his urine was very dark, he was nauseous even taking antinausea meds, in pain, tingly in his head and hands and couldn't drink his Protein and he just said for him to drink more Water. Made him suffer 4 more days until post op appt and then had me drive him to the ER where he stayed for 5 days diagnosed with pancreatitis and a blood clot. Yet, he is considered one of the top bariatric surgeons here in Texas. Personally, I think he has gotten the God Complex. And because I've had so many drs like him give bad advise and made errors, leaving me with physical and emotional scars, I do not trust them 100%. Two regrets that I've had with doing this is 1) not trusting my gut feeling from our orientation meeting with him, 2) not taking my husband in to the ER that night, no matter what our dr said, because he was wrong, and I knew it too. Our Nut said the Centrum doesn't have Iron in it. She was wrong too apparently. But we are staying in the flintstones for now because with his Coumadin and levels being tested two times a week he can't change the Vitamins until after. The vit k levels are different and we can't mess with that right now. :-)
  11. We can have Beans (not refried), turkey, light tofu, chicken, crab, lobster, shrimp, and fish ONLY for our Proteins. We can have carrots, green beans, summer squash, peeled, zucchini, peeled, broccoli, and cauliflower ONLY. No raw. We can add herbs and spices except with added sugar, lemon/lime juice, worcestershire sauce, sit sauce or vinegar, light mayo, tomato sauce or plain fat free greek yogurt, ff broth or boullion. NO juices, ice cream, sorbet, pudding, Soups, cheese, mashed potatoes, crackers/chips, breads, rices, pastas, or tortillas. Obviously all need to be mushed/pureed. I'm sick of eating pureed can of tuna with light mayo, or can of smoked chicken, or fake lobster, pureed beans. Does anyone have ANY suggestions?? We have to eat this junk until the 25th.
  12. It's more credible than my bariatric dr and obviously our Nuts since both of them have us different info. I have been neglected by our bariatric dr so any information I can get from here is more than I have ever gotten or will get from him.
  13. K good to know. Just goes to shows not to believe everything you hear from a dr or nut.sigh. I hope those taste better than the flintstones. How much vit k are in the Centrum you take?
  14. Two flintstone chewables per day. The adult centrum chewables don't have the iron, or so I was told by our nut. I haven't looked yet. But I'll look into those in three months when my husband can hopefully stop taking Coumadin. We can't change vits right now or it'll mess up the levels. Well, actually, I could change and will look into it. I don't like the aftertaste of the flintstones. Yuck.
  15. I burp a lot too and hiccip after drinking. What's up with that??? Doesn't matter what I drink from, star, no straw, cup, water bottle, I still drink too much air even though I don't feel like I am....
  16. Pik, I have faith that you will get better soon. This is just a brief rough period of time in your journey with this. I will pray that next year , or sooner! , you won't regret this decision. My husband was feeling the same way, still probably is a little but he is finally getting better. It just takes time :-) hugs
  17. Our dr never put us on b Vitamins other than what's shady in our flintstones. Hubby was still feeling down and lethargic so I have him sublingual B vits. He did much better today :-) I took some too but didn't notice a difference. I am getting dizzy when I sit up our stand up. I will half my dose of bp med tomorrow and see if that helps otherwise everything else is going great.
  18. Two flintstones completes / day. Our Nut says no gummies.
  19. Angryviking, we have the same date :-) 3 wks today for my husband and I. I'm doing well and feeling VERY similar to you exceptI don't feel full and my stomach growls an hour after eating. I feel like I can eat more than the 2 oz I eat. I'm trying to eat every 3 hrs. Drinking anything is such an annoying chore. I wish there was a recipe book for this stage with only the foods our nut allows because I am clueless. Lol. I also wish we could eat normal Breakfast foods. I guess that'll just take time and we'll, I'm not so great with patience. Lol I'm frustrated as to why our nut/dr doesn'tallow his patients to eat some of the things everyone else (it seems) can eat at this point from what I'm reading. I hope to not see our bariatric dr again. I will see our nut, not that she's much help though, but I do not want to talk to the dr. I hope I can just go to our family Dr for blood work and pay him rather than the jerk bariatric surgeon w had who never even looked at me, made me suffer in pain, and makes me feel like I'm a bother with his time. My husband is still feeling kind of crappy and lethargic. I'm frustrated about that too. I just want him to be back to normal. So does he. He is kind of regretting doing this right now. I hope he feels differently next year. Otherwise I'm up and about, have been for a week and a half and walking 1-2 miles/day. Down 28.
  20. I have the same problem Pik, not getting in enough liquids, only because I hate drinking (unless I'm exercising). :/
  21. Congrats and welcome to stage two!! :-) But aw man I'm jealous!! My nut said no soup, not even pea soup because it's high in sugar or something and Soups go right through you, and no cream cheese, and no this and no that. I can only eat weekdays on our list. Sigh. It's so hard to do when I hear others can eat yummy stuff like you are. I don't get it.
  22. Our dr said nausea is normal. Could be nothing, could be a week, could be longer. Everyone is different. If you are vimiting though, that's different.
  23. My nut says it's fine for whenever since I don't like plain water. I prefer Mio though. I also add Nectar brand protein flavors to water that way I get the water intake and protein all in one.
