I had surgery on wednesday and it was that time of the month... It was very light so I didn't really needed need any sanitary supplies but the nurse said it would be fine if i did, and just to let the O.R. nurse know so they wouldn't think anything was wrong. No Biggie!

I was also up and walking around the day of surgery and also a lot more the day after. I'm on day 3 and feeling great with just a little gas discomfort. Wouldn't want to do too much though, I got pretty tired even after just taking a shower... Good Luck and take the help! :~)

Yah... I love this thread!!! And to think I just bought one of those balls the other day! I'm feelin ya ladies... I have difinitely noticed a big change in my boyfriend and my sex life since i've gained so much weight... It's still great, but not as good as before. I can't wait to get back to my old self and let lose again! Can't Wait!!! Surgery on Dec. 26 and i'm rarin to go!!!

My date is also Dec. 26th! I just got approved and scheduled today! I'm so excited but i'm sure i'll start getting nervous too soon! It's normal...I would be worried if I/you didn't get nervous...

I'm a Preschool Teacher going to college full-time to be an Elementary School Teacher.

So i'm holding my breath and waiting to be able to "relax" because I am so nervous to make this deadline I have set. I need to get this surgury done by the week before Christmas because of school... If I can't get it done then, I will have to wait till summer. (I have completed all the requirments and I am now waiting for the surgeons office to do their part and also waiting for the insurence co. to authorize it...) I know this sounds foolish and that others have to wait so much longer, but I just really want this surgury. I am starting to really feel the affects of my weight. Until lately I have been able to live a pretty normal life even with my excess weight. But lately I have been feeling the strain it is having on my body. This scares the shit out of me!!! I don't want to be this way any longer! I know it needs to come from me and only I can change things and that the band is not the complete solution. But I also know that it will be a helpful tool for me to control myself and what I eat along with how I already try to do that now. Anyways, if you are reading this I ask that you please pray for me and others in this frustrating pradicament. Thanks and Thank God for this website!

Wow that makes me feel a little better knowing all this... I have my consult tomorrow and have been so nervous about the approval process... Yikes!!!

Hello, my name is Gayle and I have been visiting this site for a couple weeks now and would love to start talking to people... I am 21 years old and weigh 243lbs. I have read a lot about the Lap Band and am trying to learn as much as I can about it. I have my first consultation on Oct. 17 and I am so excited and nervous.:nervous This is such a great site, you all give such great insight and advice. I know I need help with my weight because I have tried so hard to controll it but I can't do it on my own. I hope that the Lap band and this site will be a big help to me. Any advice or questions are very welcome. I think I need all the help:help: and support I can get! Thanks to all!

Thanks so much for the Welcomes! It makes me feel so much more at ease knowing that others are there for me and are going or have gone through this journey too. Can anybody give me a general procedure of the things that i'll have to do to get opproved for the surgery??? It would be greatly appreciated! I'v read a lot about it on this site and other places but it seems that all i can find is from the start of the liquid diet on... I am nervous about the starting procedure and would love to learn more. Thanks a bunch!

Hey Morgan! My name's Gayle and I have also been considering the Lap Band... I'm 21 and 243lbs... I think we have a lot in common and hope that we can be of help to each other... You seem very wise and mature and I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss. When I read your post I totally understood when you said that you told your doctor about the lap band and he laughed at you and told u to JUST loose weight...(like its easy???) I think that as young adults we need to take control of our health and weight even if it means a drastic solution. We deserve to live a happy, healthy life!!! Good luck and lets talk more....

Anxiety and Depression that I have been feeling Some much needed blood work to check for Diabetes, etc. When talking about my weight, my doctor said that Lap Band is definitely a possibility but it will be a long, hard process. I had already scheduled my first consultation with Dr. Scott Cunneen at Cedars- Sinai in Los Angeles so my doctor told me to go to that and ask lots of questions and then come for another appointment with her to follow up and get a physical. So thats where I am with that... I have been experiencing A LOT of anxiety lately due to stress (I think)... so my doctor prescribed something for that and I am in the process of looking for a phyciatrist to help me with some issues. And the blood work is mainly to check for diabetes and other health problems that run in my family and are linked to my weight. Mainly I want to be healthy and happy and lately that has been going down hill fast. I am young and want to live a LONG life and I know that if I don't get a hold of my health soon it will deterierate early in life and cause me many problems.
