Losing 100 in a year?
I totally agree it is possible. A good exercise and meal planning regiment works for me. I have now become obsessed with exercise and working out, and love the feeling afterwards.

A new NSV
Finally. I have a new, positive thing to post about. I went to my dr for my blood update and they called me to come in for the results. Usually, i get them over the phone, so I was kinda worried this time. When I got there, my dr told me my total cholesterol was down quite a bit and he wanted me to re-do the test to make sure it was right. It went down to 56!!!!!! After a re-do, the test was correct. Now, I need to just get my good cholesterol up and I will be right on track. I just love getting off these meds and am happy with each one I stop. So far, its been BP meds, Triglyceride meds, High cholesterol meds gone, not to mention the sleep apnea going away...Sorry, but I just had to celebrate:thumbup::wink2::thumbup:

Banded Bikers II
Havent posted on here in a while, but I hope everyone is doing great. Leaving next week for North carolina and the dragon again. A nice plus to losing weight is the bike is much faster now...LOL We clocked her with me riding Sat night with a gps at 205 going over a local bridge and there was more to go, but my nerves could'nt take it. Now time for some twisties and nice mountain scenery to enjoy for a while. Hope everyone is getting in some good rides. If you are up in NC next week, tap your horn when you see me.

April Exercise Challenge
Finally got the computer back up and running. I've been able to manage getting in my exercise, but wont make my monthly goal days...... Work and stuff really got in the way this month. Maybe I need to retire...LOL Did some nice trikke riding this weekend and am gearing up for a 30 mile trikke ride from Clearwater to Tampa, along the trails and bridges. Now if I can manage to get the scale moving again, Onderland is just around the corner, but its a long corner.......Congrats to all for keeping up with thier exercise plans. I know how hard it can be, but no more excuses for me in May. I'm gonna up it all and go all out

preop diet
Shelley, I started on a multivitamin right away with my pe-op diet, to make sure i got in all the required stuff. My diet was 2 protein shakes per day and a small light lunch, with no potatoes, rice or breads. Its not bad once you get srted, but the first few days were tough. I did mine for nearly a month, just to get a head start on the whole thing. Good luck with your surgery....Dave

The new exercise equipment....
Sue, I found a new Trikke trail Saturday and logged 8 miles on it. Its paved and wanders around in a state park. While there I met a guy thats 70 yrs old and has put 124 miles on his trikke since mid January. That guy was amazing. Hused to walk a lot, but said the trikke really stepped up his exercise program.

The new exercise equipment....
Sue, I can manage small hills, but its a real chore. I have the air tires on the T-12 and they ride smoother, but are harder to learn on. The hill climbing is a lot of short carving by pushing the bar away quickly and then you get a little forward movement. Glad to see someone else on the board with one...

April Exercise Challenge
Hey to all my CrazyAtes. Been away for a while, but still managed to keep on track....mostly. I did have a period where I got lazy and almost fell off the food wagon. But here I am, back at the exercise challenge, with a computer again and back to the trikke. I see Sue got on here and she has been tearing up the roads around her house. Anyone in the Tampa bay area on here wants to try one out, drop me a message. Its really fun. Boy, I sound like a salesman or something...LOL Going out for a 2hr trip on the trikke this morning and it should be around 80 today, so Richard Simmons' sweating with the oldies will have nothing on me.

The new exercise equipment....
Sue, a descent pair of gloves will help if you suffer from the death grip syndrome that most people start with. I think i had claw marks in the grips when I started:biggrin::biggrin:

The new exercise equipment....
Sue, been gone for a while with work, but way to go. I got back yesterday and the first thing i did when I got home was jump on the Trikke for a quick ride. I have a blast, just like it seems you are too. And you are rught. It doesnt seem like exercise till your muscles start talking back to you.

Finally approved!
Congrats on the approval. I am a firm believer in the protein shakes for pre-op weight loss. I had 2 shakes per day and a very small meal and had no problem losing the required weight. Just be sure to use the low carb protein shakes, not the muscle building ones. I prefer the chocolate whey powder from Walmart, mixed with skim milk and if needed, add some fit anf lite Dannon yogurt before blending. I was banded the end of August and still have the shakes on a daily basis.

The new exercise equipment....
Its not as hard as it seems. And the exagerated leaning isnt necessary unless you are trying to break speed records...LOL But, what a great way to get in your cardio, upper amd lower body all at one time

The new exercise equipment....
Sue, Its going real good. I have been averaging 10 miles each time i take it out. And the nice part is it seems to be toning the areas I lost the most weight in. I still cant go up a big incline, but am learning the smaller ones pretty good. Good luck with the surgery and you will love the trikke when you get one....Dave

March Exercise Challenge

What is a good Post Op shake?
I prefer the choc whey protein from Walmart, mixed with Dannon Fit and Lite strawberry/banana yogurt and a little skim milk. Tastes like a rich choclate smoothie. Add a few frozen strayberries if you want more flavor

March Exercise Challenge
Jody, I havent figured out how to go uphill yet so that will be my thing for tomorrow, weather permitting. I just got out of a long soaking hot bath and still feel like someone beat me up...LOL
-
March Exercise Challenge
Becky, I have had it about 5 or 6 days. The first few days I wouldnt leave my street, but today I decided it was time. What a workout it is. Abs, forearms, legs all at once. It sure is more fun than the marathon walks I was taking...LOL
-
GNC asked me & I dont know....
I did a lot of protein during my pre-op and still take in 80-100 gms daily. So far, I havent had any hair loss that I can notice. The protein shakes are my choice too, just to make sure I get as much as needed. My dr. never mentioned Boitin, but I have seen it posted on other sites.

Another day of walking done, along with some more time on the Trikke. I am slowly getting used to riding this thing so maybe by the end of the week, I can get some real miles in.

The new exercise equipment....
Try going to TRIKKE 1-877-2TRIKKE - As Seen on TV - Sales, Service and Support! They have the prices and shipping options on there and are a good bunch of people to deal with. Plus they are all riders and can give tips for success.
-
The new exercise equipment....
Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can. I am not good yet, but give me a few days and I will be cruising everywhere...LOL
-
The new exercise equipment....
Sue, they start around 260 and go up to around 575. Not only do you look DUI when on one, but you kinda feel that way too.
-
The new exercise equipment....
Thanks, I am very much a beginner, but it is a real workout. I have heard of calorie burn of 500-700 per hour of riding at a moderate pace. Make33, I do have a helmet and padded gloves, so my first spill wasnt much at all. Gotta watch out for the drainage ditch at the end of the driveway...LOL

The new exercise equipment....
Does anyone else on here ride the Trikkes? I just picked one up and am having a great time learning the movements to keep moving. Plus, its a great workout. Upper body, hips, abs and legs all at the same time. Check them out at TRIKKE 3-point Carving Vehicles
