  1. I've also been on a good combo for depression and anxiety. It took years to get the dosages and prescription right! I chose the sleeve because it was not supposed to effect medications (no malabsorption like gastric bypass). My surgery was July 2013 and my meds are still working great. Actually losing weight has greatly helped my anxiety!

Thank you snochick2005 that's very encouraging.

  2. I'm guessing ur talking about antidepressants? I take Celexa and nothing has changed. I've been under control for about 4 yrs now, not requiring any changes. I've attempted to go off of them but then feel "blah" Anyway, no changes for me. My meds work just like they used to. Don't forget that nothing but ur stomach size is changed. Nothing to make ur meds either more or less potent. Good luck to u!

    Thank you marfar7.

  3. I'm not on any antidepressants, but I take many meds, and you just continue as normal, but you should ask your surgeon before your surgery if you're that worried, or ask your psych doc, or even the pharmacist. good luck!

Thank you kelly ? I see the surgeon in June and I'll ask him about it.

  4. Same with short term disability or FMLA - policy is to be there a year-but last job it wasn't covered and I was planning to pay out of pocket-so this is worth it- I have been to my Primary, attended group, sleep study is scheduled in a week- so when the date rolls around it cans be approved right away.

Oh I see. That's smart that you are getting the test done early. I'm so happy I'm almost finished with my tests.

  5. I'm in the same boat- my steps are getting checked off and scheduled- I think if it wasn't for my funny rule from my employer ins-saying I have to be employed a yr first I'd have a schedule date- All I know is after July 30!!

That is a funny rule having to wait a year before you will get excepted for surgery. Its excited to be on this journey.

  6. I just started my journey April 3rd. I am now doing all the test I have 3 test left. The psychological, endoscopy and a EKG which I the last 3 appointments with the next 3 weeks. I can't wait for August/September to have my sleeve. I'm so excited. I was going to do the last year but I was not ready. Now I'm so ready to do this.

  7. Was told by a psychiatrist my meds would have to be taken more frequently because of the surgery. Something how the meds are absorbed quickly. Have you heard of this? I have not been depressed for over 2 yrs. and don't want to be playing with my meds.

  8. I just started my journey last Monday. Tomorrow I have 3 appointments one with the nutritionist and the 2nd with the cardiologist lastly, having my blood work done too. Having my psychological on Thursday. I will call tomorrow to make the rest of my appointments. I'm so excited I got the ball rolling. I have my surgery in September

  9. Does anyone have Carefirst? I was approved on the first try. They said I have to wait 6 months I need to see a nutritianist once a month. I was wondering since I have tried so things to lose weight ie: weight watchers 5x personal trainer, gym, nutri system, to name a few. I'd like to know if they can take that into covciderTion?
