  1. Today I weighed in at 199. So ONEDERLAND?!??!
  2. With obamacare you can now get assistance paying yor premiums. Go to healthcare.gov and get that started.
  3. I had my surgery at Valley hospital in New Jersey it was great experience. I was asked to be there by 8:30. My surgery was scheduled for 10:25 am I went to admissions I had already done all my paperwork pre-op so pointed to same day surgery and walked on over. Checked in there and waited a few minutes for the nurse to escort me to a bed. I changed into a gown and socks and a really pretty hoodie. Ah hem. Read sarcasm here please I then answered a lot of questions for the nurse regarding what I was having, medical conditions, medications etc They gave me a sniffer like an old Vicks nasal thing with lavender oil in it to help relax your nerves. One with ginger scent for after surgery for possible nausea. They were so nice. The anesthesiologist came in at 10 to meet me and discuss medical history and what she would administer and what order. Surgeon came in at 10:20 apologized running a pinch late and likely be at 11. I got wheeled in at 11. Climbed over to the operating table and chit chatted with doc while they all worked around me. Next thing I know it was 3 pm and I was waking up in recovery uncomfortable. The nurse gave me morphine quickly and I was back out until around 5 when I desperately had to pee. I mean I was going to blow up. I couldn't get up was still in recovery waiting for a room. So bed pan time. I had real difficulty going. I don't know if it was shyness, discomfort or just anesthesia after effects or all of it. I had to do the bed pan twice. And then up to my room and went to potty on my own two legs this time. I walked that entire night. Have never had gas pain.
  4. Menina. Don't overthink it or worry. Just order appropriate protein, eat slow. Keep fork in hand. Talk throughout. Enjoy speaking with your friends and take a bite occasionally
  5. Are you drinking your Water? That's critical. Call your surgeon and get some anti nausea meds that really helps
  6. I dreaded this day. I knew it would come. I travel 6-8 times a year for work and was hoping to keep working at home and save my pennies until I absolutely had to buy clothes. Well I was surprised with a travel request from boss and off to Texas am headed on the 18th I've lost 42 pounds so far. Many of my pants still fit with a belt and some without. I just needed tops. I shopped downstairs in the store for the first time in at least 12 years maybe more. No more woman's section. I started with extra large tops and found a couple float extra large dresses. Wow Wow Wow They were too big! I've been wearing size 16 from 2002-2013 and hen was in an 18 I bought large tops I bought a size 14 DKNY dress that fits me snugly and perfect. Thank goodness spanx still fit I bought one dress in extra large but am returning it. I tried it on 4 more times and it's supposed to be loose and flowy. It's just a pinch too lose going for a large I cried in the dressing room.
  7. Was sleeved June 24 I lose about 8 ounces a day Have lost 41 pounds so far I think I am doing well. Some days I lost nothing and other 2 pounds. Just depends if I get my Protein and my Water right
  8. I think gazpacho should be ok if you use low acid and not to spicy maybe? Depends if you can tolerate spice I guess
  9. We have all struggled. The first 3 days of full pre op diet were the hardest. As vsg ann says - suck it up and do it and you will feel better for t ! Trust me. Just a couple days of aggravation. You've done crazy before as I have this isn't the worst one. I know you can do it! I trust you to come back here at day 7 and say - hey those first 3 were a bitch but I did it!
  10. Sherb the denial from insurance company won't be due to pre existing conditions but rather because services rendered were not authorized under plan in first place and therefore all future care is also denied relating to those services. The only way around that is to get a new insurance company, which in many cases means a new job. Have seen this rejection on this site several times already. I think it's bogus bs. But I am sure it's real. Obamacare ties their pre existing hands. But that have large internal legal counsel for a reason.
  11. My surgeon told me no birth control for one month prior. I am on nuva ring Then I could put it in one month after. I did not get my period during surgery because I took it out 3 months prior actually and then put it in 3 weeks ago. Took my body a bit to get used to it again and I had breakthrough bleeding for two weeks but back on course now.
  12. I was purée - after 1 week Then onto soft foods two weeks after that Have just been cleard for solids but I still haven't tried steak or anything Raw veggies kind of hit my tummy a little hard. Or at leadt the carrots and broccoli did. Lol Had corned beef this week. Yummy!!!! But mostly still a lot of fish and some poultry and occasionally ground beef Am going to make chicken shish Ka bab tonite and hubby having hanger steak. I may try a bite. Gotta say turning into a pescatarian and I don't mind really!
  13. I went back on birth control 30 days post and had breakthrough bleedingn for three weeks straight. God awful. Seems body is now back getting used to regular That was dang disruptive if you catch my drift
  14. I am sure that a company as large as that provides multiple surgeon options. CALL THEM. And get yourself a list. Only one and they choose ? That's hogwash and. If they stick to that i highly recommend you seek assistance from the insurance commissioner of New Jersey and if you need the links to that pm me
  15. Call your insurance yourself. Get a copy of the medical policy and see what the requirements are Then also go get some pictures of yourself over the five years and see if they will accept it Lastly I am sure you had an emergency room, urgent care, whatever - go gather those medical records. And your ob/gyn
  16. Why were you rejected? ContrAct exclusion? Or can you appeal? Many on here got to Mexico as self pay. There are also a couple threads about competitive pricing in houston -- less than 10K You can also research private insurance plans through obamacare and pick one of those up temporarily and see if it will cover all the costs. Self pay can be dangerous. You could go without insurance for complications and future needed surgeries may not be covered.
  17. I am curious as to why you need documentation of 5 years of being overweight that's a new one.
  18. Don't know who told you that and what circumstance. But if your employer coverage denies you, you appeal and are unable to win, then purchase insurance through obamacare but do the research and confirm if they will cover and requirements. No need to drop employer coverage.
  19. I am in New Jersey and I went to dr marc Bessler at valley hospital. He practices here 2-3 x a month and at Columbia Presbyterian the rest of time. He is the head of Columboa's micro surgery department. Not sure who your insurance is but each carrier decides who a center of excellence is. Valley is for Cigna I highly recommend dr b. I have had nothing but a wonderful experience Feel free to pm me if you need more info
