  1. @cowgirljane. Sending you one major virtual hug babe!! Congrats!
  2. As I've stated before on this forum so many times---I told everyone and came out on facebook. And I agree many of the folks who come here are full of bs for the reason to not tell Vsgann- I totally understand your perspective. Totally. I've seen people post they don't want their church group to judge them? What? You need a new church then because those should be your first solid supporters! Truthfully I didn't want to come out on Facebook but my husband posted his location and well then it just came all out. I lost 1 friend. Everyone else has been extremely supportive. I truly believe I lost this friend because of my choice and hers to be against it. She thinks it's because I am a bitter person.... Literally she tells friends in common this. If you knew that at 44 she still is upset about slights from high school - who's bitter ? She weighed 380 pounds and started Zumba and other activities and lost 80. I was always proud and supportive. She feels that I could have come to Zumba and done the same. Guess what I tried that - who got you into your first Zumba class when you didn't want to --- ME! and you've conveniently forgotten that. You're now an instructor. YOURE WELCOME! She can't be the supportive for me or others in same position. Other people in my life now come and ask for help. They seek guidance on their own choice - I am honest with them pro and con. And support them regardless of their path. I don't like being lied to. I don't like lying. Truthfully lies are too difficult to keep up with. I'm getting too old for that shit and a high Protein diet honestly makes me more forgetful. I didn't tell the chick at Victoria's Secret how I lost 59 pounds when I was being fitted but I do tell you if you are a friend of a friend or acquaintance of mine. To others' points. No I wouldn't tell you I was getting azt treatment for hiv/aids because it's communicable. My obesity isn't catchy If it was we'd all have shared long long ago! I think many people tend to not say anything because obese people tend to have self confidence issues. Many have been treated unfairly and judged for their weight and well they're not strong enough to handle criticism and judgement of their choice. How many of us have stated repeatedly that we used food to self soothe or to deal with other issues? Some of us used food to deal with being fat. And I think this factors into the choice of to tell or not to tell. Many who ask this question 2-3 times a week cannot own their decision because they lack self confidence. I wish I could help them to know they are beautiful and loved and will make new friends, but I can't.
  3. Make sure girlfriend knows how you normally have thanksgiving Maybe make a small turkey breast Then mashed potatoes - voila for you Creamed corn should be ok for you and the vegetarian. Have a bunch of appys and sneak in some for yourself and no one will even notice. You are stressing it but I bet no one will even notice. If they do, holidays are stressful especially when you bring a special friend
  4. You need to talk with your surgeon asap. You don't want to become dehydrated and end up in ER or admitted.
  5. Technically should be able to get reimbursed with appropriate documentation. Do you have an HSA credit card? Have clinic run a charge of &10 to confirm it will allow it. Those credit cards are tied to approved "types" of locations. So you can't use it at a gas station for example
  6. One day she was offered a reality show
  7. Glad to hear it went great!
  8. Yup funny. Am gonna miss bacon. But maybe not really. Actually don't think I will to be honest
  9. Well I had some bacon for the first time since my surgery june 24. Well I won't be doing that for a long time again. I like it really crisped up and baked. I had one piece and it sat like a lead balloon for hourssssssss
  10. Once your new insurance term starts the new rules apply. So if the new one start January 1 have your doc file asap and get it done in January
  11. I think the bigger you are the faster you lose. That may seem like a lot in 11 days but I've seen people post that. And no your prior post does not answer my question. I am sorry you feel lied to, but I don't know what you were told and what you expected so I can't comment on that. I feel like you're holding back for some reason because we may be confused? I saw this was your first and only post. A lot of folks on here have tricare as you do and can be pretty understanding and provide you support. So I hope that you get the support you need. I hope you got written instructions for your diet or a nutritionist to support you. If you didn't read this information as it will help you. http://www.peachtreebariatrics.com/docs/Gastric-Sleeve-Patient-Manual.pdf Good luck on the journey.
  12. I told everyone everything However you could have an ulcer but that doesn't require emergency surgery. Gallbladder would be a good bet and with it comes a change in diet and lifestyle. You can have gallbladder attack with a hernia discovery and repairs
  13. I love my governor but I think he needs a sleeve and soon if he wants to be ambitious
  14. I suggest you switch insurance if you can. Have Cigna and had no such ridiculous requirement of 2 years. Also remember that aetna has differing policies applied dependent on what your employer purchases. Try a spouse policy of possible. Or ask your employer what other choices you have at open enrollment
  15. You pay your deductible to either surgeon or hospital depending on who gets it charged to them. They have to send the bill in to get paid and then they send you a bill. I would not pay up front at all
  16. Can you clarify what you mean by calling the surgical unit? Are you calling the hospital where you had surgery? You need to call the doctor If he works only out of the hospital and isn't returning calls. Call the coo at the hospital. I am not sure if you are active duty and so this makes a difference on where you receive and obtain care? I've never heard of calling the surgical unit at the hospital after surgery. They can't help once you're discharged
  17. I went to old navy got a couple things. Work clothes I got two slacks and one skirt for now. This will do. All my larger stuff is on eBay. And seems to be leaving the house at a steady pace. I've made about $300 so far Paid off a small balance card and deposited the rest so I can go shopping
  18. Remember the policy on this is set by employer. You may have same uhc policy but diff employer likely a different rule. All about what the enployer wants to pay
  19. At a month I was getting 300-500 and but thought I was on target. I am now almost 4 months and getting around 800-900
  20. Well I travel for work but no plans on dallas. I also am pushing to work from home. A lot!
  21. Oh RJ I just want to come and hug you. Your been through so much. I can't relate. I can understand. I know you will persevere through this and come out where you envisioned. It's just taking longer than it should Hugs from New Jersey
  22. And thank the surgeon who helped get her here
  23. Micmt You have access to a provider rep ask to speak to them or have your issues referred. Customer service reps can't provide you this info. The proviser rep will give you a fee schedule if you ask further many insurance companies have portals. And the larger ones like aetna Cigna bcbs provide you access to their fee on that If the carrier has third party vendors I suggest you use that specific terminology with customer service folks to determine if you have to use a vendor. Be clear
